you show GREAT pride in your work, and your work shows that.
Thank you buddy
Some of us need all the details!!! Thank you for that!
Thank you for your video! You are so good and make it look so easy it must be the experience
My wife and I watched this video multiple times for guidance and instruction. Today I glued the prepped floor and together we put down about 550 sq. ft. of carpet tiles in our basement. Thanks for the video, it was a great motivator. I even had my wife laughing at first but eventually saying herself: "Mash it in the glue!"
MattJones 1829 That is great, comments like this is what keeps me motivated to do videos, thank you for sharing that and I hope your project turned out well
@@FloorsbySouthernboys It did sir, thanks again!
MattJones 1829 👍

Godspeed. You are one of the good guys. You are helping men learn to make a living. You are blessed in your endeavor.
Corey & Becca Thibodaux Thank you Cory I feel the same towards you and your family
He's a fantastic guy
@@FloorsbySouthernboys hello hun, I won't be starting a company, I'm a still kind of young 54 year-old Widow. LOL
I would like to install carpet tiles but I have a question and I hope you can help me.
I plan on putting the carpet tiles down where wall-to-wall carpet and linoleum meet. I plan to remove the carpet, what would like to leave the linoleum down.
Will the little lip where the linoleum ends on the floor show through on the carpet tiles?
If so, is there an easy solution like using some type of putty on the lip so that it's smooth? If so what would you recommend?
Thank you in advance ❤️ God bless
Thank u very much for ur time to make this video...I have to do over 10,000 sqft of carpet tile for new Amazon building...and I have never layed carpet before
Main thing will be to follow instructions completely on the adhesive that you use, use the right trowel and allow proper dry time before installing the carpet
You did an amazing job and you make it look so easy. I am getting ready to install carpet tile in my home and your video has taught me many techniques and tricks that I think will make my job a whole lot easier, so thank you very much for making these videos sir. Keep up the great work!!
Shifter7 That’s really good to hear, thank you for sharing that, and good luck on your project
Installing carpet tiles tomorrow. Thank you so much for your knowledge! So helpful.
Daniel Boothe cool, good luck with your job, I’m sure it will turn out just fine

👍
Thank you for these videos man! Has definitely helped in my world.
Fun Phone yw😀👍
Idk what a patreon is but I enjoyed it 😂
Are used to have a Patreon channel but I stopped
Don't worry about the videos being too long. As long as you're using the time wisely. If people think the video is too long or lengthy they could go at 1 and a half or double speed.
😀👍
Thank you! This was helpful.
So glad!
Very good Ty for your time.
Great video as usual Sr!!👍🏽
JJC Thank you I appreciate that
I always seem to pick up a thing or two everytime great video
Alex Cleroux Thank you sir
Good stuff man! Really help me out!
Useful video. Putting commercial carpet tiles in the bedrooms of my rentals. I'm sure the tenants will love them as much as I do and I hope easy to replace once their cat pisses in the corners or kids make smiley faces using super glue and glitter (true story, lol).
😂😂
NICE JOB!
Thank you
Excellent content
Great video. I just have one question, do you put the glue on the floor or the tile? Thanks.
On the floor
Thanks sir, it is really helpful video. I also consider to install carpet tiles in my home, wish me luck. And if you could tell what kind of tiles suits better for home, should i prefer ones has longer pile height?
Thank ya working people good information %+
Happy to help
Any instructions on what kind of floor, we can do this on, and thank you for this detailed video
vivek sharma any smooth surface, wood or concrete
People who say things like 'your videos are too long' are also the kind of people that fail at life, because they're not willing to spend more than 5 minutes of their dopamine infested, social media addicted lives actually learning something.
Haze1434 😂😂
I concur.
I agree. If people don't like the length of the video then why even click on it
Thank you I have a much better idea of the methods to lay squares a lot easier
😀👍
Nice explanation Sir, thanks, Wich trowel you recommend to glue this carpet?
Israel ortiz noriega 16th by 16th by 16th. Square notch
Did you have to use a trowel for this install? We usually use a paint roller and roll on the glue
trowel
I am doing my basement with 24x24 carpet tiles and I am starting in a bedroom and working my way out. Do you recommend starting in middle of the room and working my way to outer walls or can I start in a corner and work out from that corner? Thanks I enjoyed the video.
Brandan M650 I would find the centerpoint of the room, and then transfer your line over to the doorway and start, but it would just look better if you had an equal amount of tile on each wall, rather than having a full tile on one side of the room and ending up with a 2 inch tile on the other side, so measure out like you’re going to start in the center and then transfer your chalk line to the door way
FloorsbySouthernboys Excellent thanks for the advice. You rock!
Brandan M650 😀👍
i am not professional but just 1 silly question in my mind, why didn't you start the tiles from one corner so that you don't need to cut the tiles on both sides? 🤔 is it due to pattern
Well I was running off of the pattern that was outside of the door, so I did not have a choice but if you are just doing one room anyway you want to center everything up and have an even amount on all four walls so you don’t have a full piece on one side and a half a piece on the other side
How long do you let the glue set before you put the carpet tile down?
I know this is old but can you message me so I can tell you how I would do my corner cuts for carpet tile ? I butt on side against a wall and where a full tile stops I cut it either a 16th long or a tiny bit short( if theres base board going it should really matter) once I do that without rotating the carpet i butt the tile to the other wall and do the same . You should have 2 cut sides and 2 factory cut sides. I then rotate the tile 180 to where both factory cuts should match up with the other carpet tile and it should fit perfectly (if your cut didnt come out ugly lol)
thanks for sharing
Dude i'm from the UK where can i get that knife from that you use ,it looks loads better than the normal type of stanley knife
I installed some on basement and started buckling what can I do
If it is buckling then it is probably cut too tight you need to trim some of the edges
@@FloorsbySouthernboys thank u
U would be slipping and hurting yourself if you done it this way in the uk with our stiff tiles .. those are like paper ..do u know the other way where u cut and flip the tile ..great work and vids by the way
TIFF Butler Thank you, and no I’m not sure how you guys do it over there
I plan to watch this video later, so forgive me if you answered this question. How flat does the subfloor need to be for carpet tile? I have a basement floor with old vinyl tile on top. It is not horribly uneven but definitely not level either.
Mike Michaels The smoother you could possibly get it the better off your carpet tiles will look after the installation, that pretty much goes for any glue down product so I always go way overboard on the prep just to make it look as good as possible
great instructional video and good work.
Tiger Craps Thank you I hope it helped
How long do let the glue set before installing tiles? Looks like you trowel out the glue way ahead of where you start laying down the tiles.
Lloyd Frazier depends on the humidity and stuff there is no set time, simply when the glue turns clear then it’s ready for install, there are a lot of factors to consider into that such as humidity how thick you spread the glue so forth, but the main thing is that the glue dried clear, when you touch it to your finger and it does not transfer to your finger from the floor it is good to go and from that time if you are in a dust free environment you are good for approximately 24 hours to cover the glue
Thank you for your quick reply. I did carpet installation professionally many years ago. Looking to get back into it on the side. I am definitely not a hack. I always prided myself on quality work. Watching your vids has really helped me recall all the tricks of the trade. Thank you for your down-to-earth style...its refreshing.
Lloyd Frazier Well thank you for watching and thank you for your encouraging words OK and is really satisfying to know that people are getting used and using these to better themselves so again thank you for the kind words
Sure is a lot of grunting going on. I used to tell my boss that when were hanging drywall. His response was, "there's a lot of work going on son." Lol!
😂😂
@The Trashman 😂
Hey what kind of glue did you use?
There are lots of different brands, but what you’re looking for is a pressure sensitive adhesive for carpet tile
For how long has to stay the glue ?
Fatmir Fatmir The glue will turn clear when it’s ready to install the carpet tiles, and after it turns clear as long as it is in a dust free area you are good for 8 to 10 hours of working time
@@FloorsbySouthernboys thank you
Fatmir Fatmir You’re welcome
How much are those carpet floor tiles? Where do you get them?
Christina Villa They are about the same price as carpet but a lot more convenient and durable, I would go to Bobbie Joes rug works Then they will treat you right
Christina Villa Most places don’t start that stuff though so you’ll have to order something
Good job mate no messing around. Get them tiles done Christmas is coming . Big turkey for you this year. Check out my new video . Jus some carpet jobs I done recently.
Sure wish it was a metal door frame so they could have seen the right way to cut around it.
Shane Pennington Right, I have another video on that which you follow me pretty close so I’m sure you know that and thank you for watching
