I'm glad you're finding them useful. Drums are hard. I don't know how you do it. Requires too much brain partitioning, one limb doing this and the other doing that.....I can't even shake a Tamborine in time.
This is great! It explains a lot to me as I tried learning it off a tab on ultimate guitar which sent me down the wrong path and made it much harder to play. This is much better. Love this song. Many thanks.
Most of the covers I watched here had it mostly right. Excepting the G/C chord on the verses, the Fsus2 chord on the chorus and the fact that the arpeggios are played on the same strings each time. They steered me though.
Appreciate the lesson! Very helpful. But I must say, the name is Dun RINgill, not Dun RUNgill. Important detail which was actually distracting me from focusing on the music.
Great tutorial, thank you! I am a great fan of the Catfish Rising album. Do you like it? Could you do some songs for us, like Rocks on the Road or Roll Yer Own, or This Is Not Love?
Thanks! I'm trying to stick to more popular or well known Tull songs for general tutorials. I am offering personalized instruction on whatever song you choose at jethrotulllessons@gmail.com Cheers!
I’ve subscribed to your channel and I love all the songs you were choosing so much, obviously they are the acoustic songs because that’s what you’re doing. However, please rethink your format. I would love to hear you play through the song on guitar first. Because the songs are great, That’s why. And then proceed with the lesson.
Thanks for the input! I think you are right. I'll start doing that. I've kinda wanted to jump right into the lesson, but it would provide more context.
Aware of that, thank you. I tried to find Dun Ringill when I was on Isle of Skye this summer. Easy to find on the map but less so in practicality. Trails are not marked very well over there and I didn't have time to seek out local knowledge. I was bummed I missed it.
@@snoozedoctor it's a beautiful island. Ian Anderson used to own a fish farm there many years ago but not sure if he still does. The seas and sea life around the coast there is beautiful. Used to catch a short ferry to get there but now it's been connected by a short road bridge.
@@stuarttaylor4990 Yeah, he sold that operation many years ago. He owned the Strathaird estate there until the mid to late 90s when he sold it to the John Muir trust. Now it's open to hikers which is cool. I was looking for that Dun Ringill trailhead but couldn't find it. Stopped at a little ice cream stand nearby that was run by two nice middle-aged ladies. I asked one about Ian's estate, where the big house was, etc. One of them perked up and said that her father was the contractor who remodeled the old estate house for him back the in 80s. She was around him all the time during that period and said he was very nice to her. She pointed out a smaller newer house right by the water that she said Ian had built. It was modest and wasn't extravagant. She acted quite surprised that someone who ask about Ian, I guess it's not a common occurrence. Now Ian lives on a huge old estate south of London.
I just found this channel … I’m watching every Jethro Tull lesson … this is amazing , thank you !! 😊
Glad you found me! Cheers!
I love your tutorials. I'm a drummer who's trying to learn Jethro Tull the picking is difficult but you explained it so well thank you so much

One of my favorites. Thank you very much, Doc.
Thank you so much for doing this one! Definitely a favorite. I’m loving all of these, so many more thanks for doing such a wonderful job with them
Excellent rendition of a classic Tull song, thanks for it. Agree on the double tracking of the guitars too. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for listening!
Well done for sure Doc. TT's are the best!
Thanks again!
Great job. Thanks. I have been looking for a Dun Ringill tutorial.
I hope this helped!
Wonderful way you have of unpacking so many nuances
I really enjoy figuring out the nuances. I don't always get them, but I try hard to. Thanks!
You're psychic I just started learning this song. Thanks as always for your wonderful Tull tutorials, by far the best I've found and love Tull :)
thanks for listening and commenting!

A favourite track of mine, thanks for explaining it all, you've done a great job 👍✌️😊

Yep, have a hard time pronouncing that for some reason. It always comes out Rungill.
@@snoozedoctor I'm actually sorry I said anything about it. It's trivial. I love your lessons and appreciate what you share with is.

Great tutorial thanks

Thanks again for a great tt. How about Jack a Lynn?
That's a beauty but will take some work. I'm making my way through my catalog first :)

Fucking Tull, man. So hard...
Ian is a terrific guitarist.
Such a beautiful and often covered song! Thanks for a fascinating tutorial.

The F part note is 130033
Yes it is! I did a follow up correction. Video of him playing it back in the day clearly shows what you describe.
what kind of horse is that in the picture?
I don't know. Was walking down a country lane in Ireland and it walked over to say hello. Beautiful animal.
@@snoozedoctor it looks like an Irish breed...I just noticed the photo is behind you in your videos and I have a Scottish horse myself
Reminds me of the cover of Heavy Horses album.

It's Dun Ring hill, not Dun Rung hill
