Thanks these are so helpfull! When watched her in the olympics i was gutted she won because i love shawn and just wanted her to win everything! But watching it back now im glad she won she really deserved it cause her ruitine is beautifull and clean and still has the highest difficulty! Good job!
@garyj79 Omg!!!!! That's one of the funniest gymnastics moments! And meanest though. I can't believe she said that. Thanks for finding that. Must've took awhile. I wonder what Phelps would think the next year when Shushunova's hair was shorter causing her to look fatter o.O
actually she stuck all 5 of her tumblings. a balanced, well controlled step (lunge) was always allowed for women's floor exercise, and did not incur deduction. it got changed in the next quad of cop that forbidding lunges though.
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 - I know, its good what you can find out now with the internet isnt it ! I may be mistaken about the year in which she said that but dont think I am cos she made the remark about her when she was on beam and she dismounted with a full in which im sure she only did in 1987.....im not sure why she decided to play it safe at Seoul !!!
@garyj79 ikr. same as double tuck and double back. somehow this is supposed to encourage less difficulty which in turn somehow should encourage more dance... it's not working so bring back to 10s
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 - your obv more of a gymnastics connoisseur than me, as ive never heard of those forementioned gymnasts before! ooops and yes, Sandra did well (for a Romanian, as rule of thumb seems to be they are tumblers not dancers more often than not)
@garyj79 Haha! Romanians need to step up. You probably know a lot about gymnastics too. The three I mentioned are all juniors and I was referring to the future of floor. Murakami is Japanese, Bulimar is Romanian (not the best dancer though IMO), and Grishina is Russian. Grishina may be an AA medalist in 2012 so if you want to look her up!
Sometimes is not worth it to go for one very big skill (is only a 0.1 difference in the code and you can be heavily deducted for the mistakes). But she has 3 E skills and she connects all the others (and that's as difficult as the skills itself, also). I guess everybody takes advantage of what they can do best. Anyway, Cheng Fei had a bigger A score than Izbasa (only by 0.1, but still), but she didn't do her routine when it mattered. I love both of them, anyway.
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 - I dont know BUT heres what I was referring too.........her 'chunky' comment comes @ around 07:15 !!!!! type out '1987 EUROPEAN GYMNASTICS CHAMPIONSHIPS AA & EF'S- PART 4' into the youtube search engine
How can a full twisting straight front and a 1.5 twisting straight front be worth the same thing? I don't think that is fair. Does anyone know why that is?
@garyj79 Lol. I'll trust you. That's pretty terribly about her husband. Glad she's gone, for your sake. Elfie's done many mean things but I can't remember any on the spot. I do remember though Deng Linlin went overtime in 2009 at worlds and Elfi sounded happy. I'll try to find the link.
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 - Denise Goddard! as her name was before she married my father. Monica Rutherford used to commentate on Eurosport as Monica Phelps ! they competed together for GB and against each other at the British championships..........Monica (by way of listening to some of her commentating on here) had a way with words and was almost as rude as Elfie Schiegel or whatever her name is for American viewers !!!!!! like calling Shushunova at the 1987 euros 'chunky' lol
I was under the impression a FT double back piked was more difficult that a FT double back tucked???? both though are rated E in the COP..........hmmmm
@garyj79 Ahahah, and teachers say Wikipedia doesn't help! Yes Elfie is very annoying. I can't believe Phelps called Shushunova chunky. Then she won the AA gold in 88 the next year. Lol. I hope you're proud of your mother.
@bbhouk1 - Seems to be a lot of stupid rules in Gymnastics today.......that make little sense! I mean I keep hearing people say that artistry is being brought back into gymnastics, like when? nothing against Beth Tweddle (im from the UK myself) but winning European and World floor golds with great tumbling and poor dance is NOT what I thought the sport meant when they said they would reward artistry more after 2008......
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 - aghhhh I cant claim to know an awful lot about the sport, its rather genetic for me however, to be 'into' gymnastics, my mother competed @ Tokyo for Great Britain - she didnt medal obviously but in defense......though she was British champion she was up against the soviets etc etc who prob trained full time, in comparison, at the time British gymnasts like my mother had to hold down full time jobs and train in the evenings - not an easy task!! wont start on the equipment!!
Thanks these are so helpfull!

She sticked 4 tumbles out of 5. It was impossible to beat!
fjn219 she is perfect that's it

Could you do Patricia Moreno's Floor Routine in Athens 2004 under the 2008 Code of points? Thanks
Wow thanks so much, can you do her floor in 2007 please!!!!
@MrJump66 Hi,i think it is a series that is worth 0.7 tenths,i heard so,im not sure!
@garyj79 Would she be Denise Goddard or Monica Rutherford?

Probably because the full twisting strait front has a blind landing and the 1.5 doesn't. A back 1.5 has the same value as a back double twist.
@bbhouk1 - Thankyou! clearly a gymnastics fan who has the same good taste as me then ha ha........
amazing 3 twist!
@garyj79 Internet's amazing. I wouldn't have known her beam dismount and it's amazing that you remember! Why play it safe against Silivas?
why is the piked tsukahara worth the same as the tucked tsukahara??? that doesn't seem fair and/or make sense to me...
How can a full twisting straight front and a 1.5 twisting straight front be worth the same thing? I don't think that is fair. Does anyone know why that is?
Do you do routine guides outside of the Olympics?
It looks like her first combination pass was actually a 2.5 twist into a full twisting tucked. Watch her legs. There is an obvious bend.
@garyj79
i agree completely
@garyj79 Lol. I'll trust you. That's pretty terribly about her husband. Glad she's gone, for your sake. Elfie's done many mean things but I can't remember any on the spot. I do remember though Deng Linlin went overtime in 2009 at worlds and Elfi sounded happy. I'll try to find the link.
where is she from
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 - Denise Goddard! as her name was before she married my father. yes she is ;)
hmmmm...i guess...i always thought that going pike was always more difficult...i guess not. i really like her piked tsukahara :)
never noticed till now that she does 5 tumbling passes.
I was under the impression a FT double back piked was more difficult that a FT double back tucked???? both though are rated E in the COP..........hmmmm
Yay!!
@garyj79 Wow that's really cool! I'll try and figure out who she was if that's not stalkerish lol.
@garyj79 At least Mai Murakami, Diana Bulimar and Anastasia Grishina can somewhat dance! Sandra was good though.
@garyj79 Ahahah, and teachers say Wikipedia doesn't help! Yes Elfie is very annoying. I can't believe Phelps called Shushunova chunky. Then she won the AA gold in 88 the next year. Lol. I hope you're proud of your mother.
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 - nah, its not working and I can see a flurry of non dancer/power tumblers winning for many years to come!!!
@1996gymnasticsfan Romania
Full twisting pike (E) Her first element...
