Itaukei funerals in the village are always different. Villagers are very resourceful with na i yau kei na magiti - mats, tapa, whales tooth, rootcrops etc.
Very sad occasion and brought back memories for me. I know were you left off this recording is far from the ending of this funeral which will probably last all day. My condolences to the family and loved ones very sad day for everyone. Nothing like a Fijian funeral although a very sad occasion for all its also very beautiful and respectful. I love the way everyone rallies together to get things done this is very typical of village life.
