I have a feeling this is what I will have to do with my 86'. The right tail lamp doesnt light when you pull the switch by the blinker and brake function work. Tried tons of combinations. About ready to rip the whole assembly out and rebuild from scratch. The prior owner had a tow harness that was causing shorts. I thought I got all the issues when I pulled it but maybe not.
@@theroygarage Thanks. The prior owner had a tow harness spliced in that was causing a fuse to blow and the headlamps to go out when you flick high. So i removed that. I am assuming I have more cleanup to do to rebuild the wiring in this ol baby. But we will get there. I made a check sheet of wire combinations and went through it scientific method style. I got everything in the back to run except the right running light in the brake lamp socket. Brakes and blinker work whether the lamp switch is pulled or pushed in. So we are a few steps closer to being much safer. Still room to improve. Great video.
@@theroygarage Got it all solved. I used the AC DELCO LS-248 wiring pigtail to replace an old corroded one. I had the wrong bulb first off. Got that fixed. Of the 6 wire combinations between factory colors and AC DELCO pigtail my COMBO #6 was the correct one. P=Pigtail F=Factory wire Yellow (P) to Brown (F) Brown (P) to Black (F) Black (P) to Green (F)
