- The DBD in game tutorial has always seemed like a missed opportunity to teach new survivors how to play. This week I decided to make my very own version of the Dead by Daylight tutorial. This is a beginner's guide on how to play survivor with everything I think you should know as a new player. We cover all of the basics on how to play survivor in order to set you up for success. I hope this is helpful! I love helping you guys learn the game and always take my content straight from my live stream on Twitch! I am live on Twitch Monday-Friday at 11am ET, stop by and say hi! Thank you so much for watching!

Me, watching this completely even though I have 3.000 hours in dbd 👁👄👁
litetally
LMAO this gave me a good giggle 😅
Literally same 👁️👄👁️ 📝
Sure
Same
Even with 2000 hrs in the game I learn something new. I had no idea about how the the great wiggle skill checks don’t give you more of a boost on the bar to wiggle- thank you mish!
I remember that if you hit all of them it would reduce wiggle time for about 2 seconds. They must have changed it when the wiggle skill check became obligatory
Yes it changed a while ago! Hitting the skill checks just makes the killer sway more but it is barely noticeable @@viciousveras1648
@@viciousveras1648 Yes, it was a very temporary bonus sadly! The little skillcheck bar turns yellow showing a bloodpoint bonus too, so people often confuse that with a bonus to wiggle progression. Only when the wiggle bar is yellow are you wiggling quicker, which is with the perk Breakout!
Thank you so much, I'm glad an experienced player still took something away from this video! Appreciate you watching!!
they used to give you bonus wiggle a long time ago now they just give you like a weaker version of boil over
if behavior don’t hire you
I learned how to play against Singularity because of her. She’s so helpful!
@@simpleplanfan011 That's so awesome to hear!! You don't see him super often, so he can be a little challenging for people. I'm so glad you found it helpful
Ty for being here
My fiancé showed me your wonderful streams and I’ve to say you’re so positive, caring, friendly and funny, that it’s truly a joy to watch, every single time!
OMG huge thank you to your fiancé and huge thank you to you for watching & the kind words. It means a lot
around three years ago i left having 1k hours in the game and i’m TERRIFIED of all the new stuff so i’ll be watching each and every video of yours
I would like a how to loop tutorial, I struggle at it so it would be very helpful just like this guide!
A lot of looping is map knowledge and knowing where general tiles would spawn
Camera control always look back at the killer and know what type of killer you’re playing against.
Does the killer respect pallets or go through them?
Is it a range killer?
Is the killer m1?
Pathing is also very important gotta know how to mindgame against certain killers, don’t be predictable with your movement.
She has many! Check out her other videos. SHE IS THE QUEEN OF DBD.
It comes with time :)…once you calm down enough to not freak out when the killer is on you, map knowledge is next and lastly, CAMERA MOVEMENT! If you don’t know what the killer is doing behind you, you panic vault, map like a potato and loose!
On PC you must work more with your camera to move tighter
Console is bit different but easier
Overall Camera and Map knowledge is key which comes with pratice
Best tutorial ever! It’s 12:02pm and I watched all 14 minutes of it!
LMAO ILY SEVEN PLS
Only useful if you're on PC. Typical PC players assuming everyone is on their platform, ignoring the fact that the majority of the playerbase is on console.
I stopped watching and disliked as soon as she started talking about WASD and mouse trash.
@@LEWIS1992 The game works the same regardless of the platform you’re playing on 😂 It’s not on her to teach you how to use your two joysticks 💀
@@LEWIS1992 Hi Lewis! I am a PC player so I can really only speak on my experience as a PC player, as I don't have a lot of time on controller. I think it's best to learn controller specific stuff from someone that plays on controller, I don't want to be incorrect about what I'm teaching and I figure most people will also understand what I mean for their respective platform.
i’ve played this game for like 3 years and major props to you for being able to explain everything so well
This is the best way to put the game into perspective 🙌🏻 behaviour should hire you at this point ❤️
Thank you so much, that means a lot!
so so useful, even as someone who has been playing for a bit! hope lots of ppl get to see this!
Thank you so much! That means a lot!
This is Such a great tutorial! I wish i had this 4 months ago. But I still learned something new. Thanks mish!
Just convinced my friend to download DBD just by sending him this video, thank you Mish
actual good tutorial?? rare omg, and the camping one is so good! its insane how much people dont actually get away
Thank you so much! I love reassurance with the anti camping mechanic when people understand how the mechanic works! Thank you eepy
Super helpful, thank you Mish!!!
This was so good!!
This tutorial is really helpful for beginner players, thank you Mish will be sending it to my friends are starting to get into dbd.
This video is so helpful to current and new players! Thank you ❤
Thank you my dill
Thanks! I just sent this to my friend who I've been training in DBD for about the past week
ive known this game since it came out and played it myself since 2018 so i have over 3000h. and i just watched this whole video while already knowing everything xd but i love seeing that there are people that explain dbd like this to new players, i wish i had that when i first started. great job, keep it up!
Mish u are one of THE best dbd creators rn , you’re so helpful and super super funny and friendly ! I love your streams!!
I wish I had this when I started playing. You’re the best! ❤😊
My hope is that all new players have a better resource to get started
Love your content!
hi mish!! dropped in stream today n i’ve only been playing dbd about a day & u were so sweet when i asked a question !! i knew i had to go watch ur beginners guide for dbd & i wanted to let you this was extremely helpful!! thanks queen 🥰
mishy ty for this tutorial it taught me a lot about dbd that i didnt know about ❤
Thank you so much for this! I haven't played in quite a few years, so this is a welcome refresher course. I'm also sending this to my friend who's going to start playing survivor with me :)
Legion and wesker can vault pallets with there power and chucky can go under and vecna can fly over it, No offense but i feel like people should know just in case!
thank you for the guide 💙
Good Beginner guide, i would add some
-Bloodlust
Bloodlust is a passiv that ever Killer have the longer the chase go the faster Killer get (haste bonus)
Bloodlust reset if the Killer get a *succsessful* hit, *stunned* or *breaking* a Pallet
-Hatch
Only spawn on ground floor saw sometimes teammate looking on upper floor (meat plant/RCPD)
Amazing, thank you for this Mish. I just sent this to my little cousin who is trying DBD out. ❤
I vouch for this to take place of the DBD tutorial. Great video Mish!
Great tutorial! You always create amazing content !
glad I found this so soon after being posted, my bf has been playing this game for a while and I want to surprise him by learning how to play ^^ your tutorial is very in depth and helpful, I will definitely be referencing it !
perfect tutorial, when i was starting a month ago i thought im supposed to hide and be stealthy, but now i know this is the information i needed when i was starting
This really is a spectacular tutorial. I even learned a bunch (the details on hitboxes)! Super useful. Two points:
1.) I've only ever heard it called "*the* Hatch," not "Hatch." So when you had no "the" it sounded very weird to me. This produced much entertainment to me.
2.) I know this only a basic tutorial, but I do think there is one rule that is especially important that might have been a nice closing point: while you should play the way that produces fun for you, you should also consider the experience of other players. The Devs have added a lot of rules (e.g. the anti-camp timer) to try and push the community in the direction of the spirit of the game, but at the end of the day it's up to the players to play in the spirit of the game. A key example for survivors is: you should try to all get out alive, if you can (which requires game-sense). Don't leave your team makes hanging. You want to have a good time, but sometimes your good time is up to your team mates (as it is a team game), so treat others the way you would want to be treated!
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you found the details on hitboxes helpful! We put a lot of thought into those graphics. I appreciate your notes! I definitely always try to play in a way I would enjoy facing, and always hope to promote a positive playstyle with my videos. Thank you so much for commenting!
I would add if your mates not unhook you don't take it personaly.
Sometimes unhook in front of camping bubba at endgame is near impossible
@@ProbablyMish My pleasure. You're definitely successful at the positive vibes. You (and many other content creators) help make DBD the awesome experience that it is.
The best tutorial ever!
me watching this even though i watch every single one of your streams :3 ty for the beginner guide mishy ily
Wow I just started playing with my friends I love your videos! Please make more guides ❤
Thank you my mish!!! ❤
This is the best DBD beginner's guide on TH-cam by far!
Played this game on and off since it came out and even I didn't know there was no difference in wiggle progression on great skill checks... Great guide 😅
very good beginner tutorial other advice i could give is about how the gate's works. it has 3 red lights that tells you the progess of the gate opening. You can see that above the bar progression you have the text : "open escape", the first light will not pop on until you reach the progression bar at the "s" of escape.
This can save you if you are near the killer or if you are alone in a endgame situation since the killer will not see the progress and it could save you some time
Something I think should've known from the beginning and I think many new players don't know is that the game isn't about hiding and not getting found but rather about learning how to loop and waste the killers time for the Team. Before I started DBD this year I only knew how the game was back when it got released and many played it as that hide and seek game and it took me a while to realize that it's the wrong approach to it. Since then I think I have improved as survivor tho I do kinda miss the hide and seek aspect of it but as a mainly killer player I know how frustrating it is when everyone hides all game xD
Fantastic video Mish. Now when I recommend newer players to check you out I can share this video as well!
(who did your character/avatar art ? I really love the art style)
A killer tutorial would be super dope! Either that or a survivor item/ add-on tutorial. I know how they all work (in theory) but I’d still watch because I refuse to believe that I know everything (in practice… especially sabo).
Idk if anything has changed about hatch but to add - hatch spawns on the 1st level. There’s some map exceptions but the majority of the time, get yourself to the 1st level of a 2 story map if you’re the last survivor.
You dont need to hold M1 on gens and other objectives, theres a setting to switch it to "toggle" which means that you only have to click on it once, but you do have to click again to cancel
I play for years dbd but this tutorial is so great for begginers thank you 😊😊
My biggest tip that I share to new players is to play to your strengths. My chases aren't great since I'm still practicing them and it influences the perks I bring. Since I'm not good in chase, I bring perks that help my team so I'm not completely useless! Also, Windows of Opportunity from Kate Densen is a LIFESAVER!!
thank you mish :D !!
I just passed 300 hours so I’m not too new but I actually learned a few things from this. Thanks mish!! 🖤
Best tutorial I’ve seen
I so love everything you do!
Everything is so, so helpful!!
I started playing about a year ago, found your channel on TikTok right away, and joined Twitch around that period (I'm mostly lurking, but enjoying it a lot nonetheless)!
You and your amazing community are making this game so much fun for me!!
Plus I find your way of streaming and teaching us so motivating to improve my playing style without feeling any pressure on it!
100% a Mish fan for life
Saving for when I get friends joining DBD, great explanations!
Thank you so much!! I love seeing so many people excited to share with friends
Great tutorial! I noticed you talk about tiles before you explain what that means, in the gen section
I like that you didn’t include imaginary rules “the killer isn’t supposed to tunnel, that means they suck” and instead you said “survivors should work as a team by taking hits/chase”. You should make a video on the statuses (endurance, exhausted, etc.) and unaliver items :)
Love it ❤
girl... you ate this up
I didn’t know the wiggle checks didn’t make you wiggle free faster. What a great video!
Thank you so much!! That means a lot!
Really hope they update the tutorial, or even had some guides like this for specific things like how TCM and games have some slide shows with things they could have some about skillchecks and different things since not everything could fit into a tutorial. I know we get tooltips but something we could open at all times not just loading into a match would be handy.
Thank you, :3
7:05 Additional info for new players. It’s true, however The Legion and The Mastermind aka Albert Wesker can vault pallets when they use their power.
YESSSSSS MISHHHHHHH! You betta werk!!!
The thumbnail is so cuteee! My baby Nea
looping question that i've heard different things about; when you are looping a structure, many people recommend to just use a/d strafe keys and cam movement to loop around structures, others say use strafe plus forward/back, making sure your slightly 'pushing' into the wall (though can get stuck during cornering). while ultimately if you are good at both it won't matter, is there one that is easier for beginners?
I think it would be great to see how to loop every killer. One killer per episode
just so you know Mish. ypu said before struggle anti camping meter lets survivor unhook themselvds if being face camped. anti camping still works when they are struggle phase too.
10/10 video
The funiest girl in dbd i hope you hit 100k soon 🙏💖
Im new player... Amazing video... Ty
Can I ask an honest good faith question? How accurate are the depictions of those pill shaped hitboxes you show around 0:44? Were they pulled from in-game files or from livestream in the past?
Theres a list or something that tells me what Surveys are more loud than others?
me who has bought the game within a week of its release and has played it for 8 years: _hmmm interesting tutorial_
For me it’s so hard to figure out the killer powers, especially when they release a new killer so often
Please make a tutorial on how to counter killers it would be really helpful to me as a survivor main since i rarely buy killers to try them out myself and learn what they can do. Tysm Mish love ur streams
Great tutorial the only thing I would add is you keep using the term Tile and I’m afraid a newer player might not be familiar with the term I feel like another great video idea would be to explain all of the dead by daylight terms because there’s so many that it can definitely be confusing, over all Great video ❤
i love you sm
amazing tutorial. *claps*
how did you make that thumbnail?
I'm a long-time but inconsistent player. Idk when the anti-camp meter was intorduced but now I know how it works. So it's best to leave a Bubba-camped player?
even tho I have 193 hours I still watched this lol
give this to my teammates pls. its seems the anti-camping system is something theyve never seen before D;
Me watching this to see if there was anything I missed
I swear, if bhvr does not sponsor you imma riot
Now I feel why boil over never worked for me, lol. I try hitting great skill checks at all times. Seems like half of the time that is my downfall
i think making a tutorial video to supplement BHVR's lackluster tutorial is a great idea! just as a bit of feedback though, the captions along the bottom of the video are appreciated, but
having it
only show
like two or
three words
per line
makes it
kinda
hard to follow
the guide
like, i know the psychological reason for having a only few words flash at a time is that it makes the TikTok part of a human's brain hyperfixate on the screen because of the rapid stimulus and the idea that the thought is incomplete, so it basically hypnotizes them in a sense, but i think it overall is less conductive to a learning experience; it would probably be better to just have full sentences or thoughts along the bottom of the screen, ala the 'older' style of captions
hope this doesn't come across as too nitpicky; just explaining my thoughts, cheers!
amazingggg
Is it possible to do one for looping, I’m 600 hours into playing but looping is still something I struggle with. I am getting better but I want to waist more them just 10-15 seconds of the K!llers time
Extremely Common Mish W
the Dbd guru, everyone
Mish need to be hired to BHVR
Sorry i got lost and distracted by the banger lobby music in the background
very nice tutorial
And also don't forget that whenever you go against a Pig, YOU NEED TO BOOP THE SNOOT, otherwise you have a chance of 69% to not get hatch in endgame
only boop her snoot if she initiates it
Good guide though two killers can vault pallets. Also when you mentioned survivors you neglected to say that Meg is clearly the best!
Dbd is so hard to teach to people because there's only like, 2 other existing games that are similar to it... making guides for new players is sooooo important!
WAKE UP! mish updated a mew video on youtube 🎉🎉
thank you to our lord and savior Mish mishyLove
did everyone pay attention in dbd tutorial class today, if anyone needs me to send them the notes i got u
Not me watching this with 500 hours
Am I a beginner? No
Did I watch it all? Yes
