There was supposed to be this episode called "The Mopeyness of Doom" where Zim decided to give up on taking over the world, and as a result, Dib decided to stop chasing Zim.
Just the story and the animation and the thought that "yeah, I guess after obsessing over someone for years you would kind of gain this affection either be it platonic or a sort of romantic", even though I know the story is they'll always be in this endless loop of fighting, it's nice to think they would mature enough to see they would make amazing friends

It's probably one of the best ways to define their status, both Dib and Batman try to stop Zim and Joker, respectively, for so long it's the basis of their character arcs and makes the few times they need to work together even more poignant

thank you!! quick trivia: the shot of Dib's legs was actually rotoscoped from my own run! My family was a bit concerned as I ran through the house filming the ground lol. the patience comes from a mixture of pride and spite, creating the ideal motivator XD

Like, they're both from places where nobody believes them/ believes IN them and they both have a burning passion for proving them wrong. I mean, it might just be me, but Dib being on the roof and just looking up into space feels like he's saying, "I wanna go up there" but then there's Zim looking out at the city being like, "I think I like it better down here". Just the whole Dib being from earth wanting to go to space and Zim being from space wanting to stay on earth. I might just be reading too much into it, I most likely am actually, but it feels nice.

I LOVE THIS SO MUCH! The animation in this is so smooth and genuinely has SUCH a perfect flow to it. I'm OBSESSED with the party at 1:15 where the screen splits! It looks really cool and I love getting to see the two of them in their school environment... plus watched Dib and Zim attack one another in a playful way is really nice to see. I really loved how you did some of the scenes with it fading from greyscale to them each being highlighted in their own colours and my heart MELTED seeing Zim soft with GIR. Also, the song just fits so perfectly for them? Since Dib's been called Membrane's "insane son" his whole life, it's probably really good for him to have someone in his life who's just as odd as he is and who doesn't make him feel like everyone else does. It's great to see your art. :)

Every frame of this animatic is a dang speed-paint and I’m so glad the fandom’s still getting relatively recent content! I absolutely adore the use of colour scattered throughout the animatic, the way the background is more coloured than the characters yet they still contrast and each look unique, the way your style applies without losing any subtle details out of the show, and the impact of having desaturated characters in close proximity and active shots in front of a powerful and intense background is already effective, so the fact that you took it a step further by actually giving the characters colour from 1:23 is just incredible! Disclaimer: yes, I’m aware that they’re Dib and Zim, I just can’t be bothered writing “Dib, Zim, Gaz, Professor Membrane and Gir” every time I mention the saturation contrast.

2:25 sorry, but i can't stop lauging now i have the think about zim screaming; "THAT BEE, THAT INSUFFERABLE BEEEEEEEEEE" and then, "the insufferable nosy bee did it again"... i mean, maybe it's not sooooo funny... but i laugh a bit qvq... and, i love this animatic so much ahhh it's so cute and endearing. Yep, it feels really good to see them this way, it made it very dynamic with the style, I loved them.
The amount of aw's and oh's I said while watching and rewatching this is just too much to keep track. I absolutely love the cutesie outfit Zim was wearing when he came into Dib's room, the teasing each other in class, Dib rescuing Zim from the wreckage and Zim taking Dib up on the rooftop. The animations and transitions are so smooth and the color pallet shifts are phenomenal!!

When Zim and Dib teamed up to deal with a greater threat that would of drained the earth dry... I imagine this as the truce in their scenario. Them graduating elementary and going into high school, them slowly coming to better understand each other, Zim seeing the beauty of earth and wanting Dib to also see it as the sun slowly rises on the rooftops. Finally becoming friends after all that happened. And having so much to reflect back on and laugh about...

Like the use of distinct colors (pink and blue) throughout the majority of the animatic but then at the end when they touch hands it turns PURPLE oh my god I got chills! I just love how real this felt. The outfits and expressions and details all throughout were just gorgeous. In just 3 minutes you created more depth to these characters than the actual show did I s2g. OMG THIS ANIMATION IS REALLY GOOD 🥺💜 You portrayed the relationship between Dib and Zim really well. Their playful fights at skool, the moments they fight each other, and the little moments they meet each other. Even the moments when they help and protect each other. I love how the two during quiet times wear simple clothes, but when they fight they dress up and play their parts. A detail that I love is how the backgrounds are initially blue and pink based on their perspective, but as they meet and understand each other the background turns purple. A small way of saying how two naturally opposite colors become stronger if they come together. Another detail I love is when Zim and Dib are on the roof at the end. Dib is looking at the sky, while Zim is looking at the city. The first, coming from a boring world, wants to go into space and experience adventures because there he can feel alive and can live the life he has desperately sought on Earth. The second, coming from an imaginative world, prefers to stay on Earth because there he can be himself and can live the life he desperately sought on Irk. It's a nice way to represent how reality needs fantasy and fantasy needs reality to complete their experiences and be happy. Maybe I'm just overlooking, but still this animation is INCREDIBLE and you did a massive great job 💖

I LOVE THIS SO MUCH! The animation in this is so smooth and genuinely has SUCH a perfect flow to it. I'm OBSESSED with the party at 1:15 where the screen splits! It looks really cool and I love getting to see the two of them in their school environment... plus watched Dib and Zim attack one another in a playful way is really nice to see. I really loved how you did some of the scenes with it fading from greyscale to them each being highlighted in their own colours and my heart MELTED seeing Zim soft with GIR.
Also, the song just fits so perfectly for them? Since Dib's been called Membrane's "insane son" his whole life, it's probably really good for him to have someone in his life who's just as odd as he is and who doesn't make him feel like everyone else does.

Every frame of this animatic is a dang speed-paint and I’m so glad the fandom’s still getting relatively recent content! I absolutely adore the use of colour scattered throughout the animatic, the way the background is more coloured than the characters yet they still contrast and each look unique, the way your style applies without losing any subtle details out of the show, and the impact of having desaturated characters in close proximity and active shots in front of a powerful and intense background is already effective, so the fact that you took it a step further by actually giving the characters colour from 1:23 is just incredible!
Disclaimer: yes, I’m aware that they’re Dib and Zim, I just can’t be bothered writing “Dib, Zim, Gaz, Professor Membrane and Gir” every time I mention the saturation contrast.

Okay, i love Dib and Zim's relationship in this, but I love love LOVE Zim basically treating Gir like his kid.

Yep, it feels really good to see them this way, it made it very dynamic with the style, I loved them.

I imagine this as the truce in their scenario. Them graduating elementary and going into high school, them slowly coming to better understand each other, Zim seeing the beauty of earth and wanting Dib to also see it as the sun slowly rises on the rooftops. Finally becoming friends after all that happened. And having so much to reflect back on and laugh about...

Oh my god this is just beyond brilliant! Like the use of distinct colors (pink and blue) throughout the majority of the animatic but then at the end when they touch hands it turns PURPLE oh my god I got chills! I just love how real this felt. The outfits and expressions and details all throughout were just gorgeous. In just 3 minutes you created more depth to these characters than the actual show did I s2g. Absolutely brilliant. Your art is stunning and the storytelling here is amazing. I'm so excited to see what else you will make. I'm subscribing for sure!

You portrayed the relationship between Dib and Zim really well. Their playful fights at skool, the moments they fight each other, and the little moments they meet each other. Even the moments when they help and protect each other.
I love how the two during quiet times wear simple clothes, but when they fight they dress up and play their parts.
A detail that I love is how the backgrounds are initially blue and pink based on their perspective, but as they meet and understand each other the background turns purple. A small way of saying how two naturally opposite colors become stronger if they come together.
Another detail I love is when Zim and Dib are on the roof at the end.
Dib is looking at the sky, while Zim is looking at the city.
The first, coming from a boring world, wants to go into space and experience adventures because there he can feel alive and can live the life he has desperately sought on Earth.
The second, coming from an imaginative world, prefers to stay on Earth because there he can be himself and can live the life he desperately sought on Irk.
It's a nice way to represent how reality needs fantasy and fantasy needs reality to complete their experiences and be happy.
Maybe I'm just overlooking, but still this animation is INCREDIBLE and you did a massive great job 💖
