Gotta love how, technically speaking, the resisty are portrayed as the villains, even though they just wanted to revenge the enslavement that the Irken empire brought upon them.
The Irkens had more than enough forces to destroy the resistance. But they were so complacent and used to always winning that they didn't bother taking security seriously.
This is so… beautiful! It reminds me of when Samurai Jack had its final season and the tone shifted to more gritty and serious, but still held a tone of the original. As someone who grew up with Invader Zim, I must say, thank you so much for bringing life back into this series after Enter the Florpus!
Its such a delight to see, that this project has finally become reality. Really shows how much some fans and a lot off effort can achieve, hope to see more in the future. Also I love the way Purple finds the list of the patreon supporters, really neat.

You know after watching this episode I feel a sense of apperication that makes these different and a little more deep. I mean maybe the tallest have more to them, and the main reason they sent Zim away was because he killed spork and Miyuki (Who might have had some bond with red and purple) and losing her might have drifted the two of them apart.
Invader zim was always this werid comedy show with things like decepting Humans as stupid and other things but this series right here hits differently to me.

Aside from the Tallest acting a little more selfless and sympathetic than you'd expect them to, everything in this FEELS like a real authentic episode, with real new character designs and even dialogue! (maybe more if you took the draft panels of an episode and colored them in, considering how janky they move, but still.)
I'm just hoping this doesn't turn out like EVERY current fan-made story and make them all gay, despite not fitting their character at all...

Besides Dib, purple has always been my favorite character so it's nice to get some fan content around him.

I really like the premise of this fan series and how the Resisty actually got to successfully invade the Massive this time around. I also thought that Purple’s voice sounded just like his official counterpart and his personality was pulled straight out of the show. I felt Red could use some work on his delivery, but the voice acting is generally good. However, the timing for some of the lines could better sync up with the visuals. I also like how the art style closely resembles the show minus the CGI, making the transition between the two smooth. Now, I’m not sure how smooth you plan to make the animation since this is a small TH-cam channel at this time, but the animation could be a bit smoother and it felt more like a colored animatic to me. Not that I mind animatics, but when I see the word “animation”, I usually think about something smoother. When the leader of the Resisty is addressing his troops, I feel like they need to at least cheer or something verbally as the silence feels odd. Also, how do they recognize Earth if they’ve never been on it and the closest they’ve been to it was during “Enter the Florpus” where they never set foot on the surface? Also, isn’t their paks like their brain? I do remember that water is supposed to hurt them but red seemed more annoyed than anything by it. I know in later episodes, Zim uses glue to alleviate this issue but they shouldn’t know about that yet. All in all, I like the idea behind the series so far and can’t wait for the next episode.
Possibly good idea: Since Red's PAK is damaged rather than completely destroyed, Red is having anger spikes as to why he's lashing out at Purple and... To an extent, probably allowed him to pass his ego and actually even THINK about asking Zim for help.
This part might be an excuse but I'd love to assume that Zim contacts them DAILY and thus they know Earth when they see it as per the very human structures in the background... And they don't fucking like it even a little bit. (Although this is kinda debunked when they don't know what rain is... Zim probably would've told them in great detail how this place literally rains "acid")
The water is kinda... Eeee, yeah I was half expecting him to immediately begin smoking from the rain, not exactly melt his flesh off but begin showing severe pain.
@@roland4618 I like your idea that the PAK being damaged is the reason why he would even consider looking for Zim. It’s a neat idea. While I did think of them taking note of the background when Zim contacts them, he’s usually at his base where you can’t really see normal human backgrounds so I don’t know if that’s sufficient. Plausible, but a little insufficient as far as I’m aware.

Just to clarify, a couple of the things you mentioned were caused by issues that weren’t present in the script. For example, red was supposed to be looking at an informational hud from his wrist that would tell him which planet he was on, but the artists forgot to draw it and we were in such a rush to release this after so many delays that we just decided it wasn’t worth redoing a scene for. Red’s delivery was actually a lot more passionate and we’ll timed the first time it was recorded…then we found that the audio was not high enough quality to use, due to a lack of sound treatment in the room, so he had to record again over the animation, which caused a slightly flatter delivery and some timing issues. This is also why his yelp upon being rained on was more annoyed sounding than pained, and along with the artists forgetting to draw the little steam from the acidic sizzle, that gave the impression that red wasn’t burning from the rain. The cheer after Lard Nar, yes, that was just a missed opportunity lol. Good call. Also yes, the animation is lacking…we intend to improve upon that slowly as more funds come in from ads, donations, etc. The smoother the animation, the more art it is, and we would never ask for that level of work without compensating more for it!
Mostly all silly little mistakes done in the art and recording process, but rest assured, most of the issues were not meant to be there when the plans were written! We have since discussed all of those issues and will make sure things match the scripts more in the future :) Also red hasn’t had to re-record anything since, so I’m sure you’ll be much happier with his delivery from episode 2 onward.

I really enjoyed it, you guys are very talented and I think me and many others can tell how much love is being given to this project, but I should add that the second half of the episode feels super quiet and not expresive enought in the sound department, not for the voice actors, more so the backround music is almost not there at all. But overall I really liked it and I wish you guys nothing but success.

This episode was INCREDIBLE! The voice acting was spot on, the story seems interesting, and I can’t wait to see more! I loved seeing some of the references as well. A little bloody, which I wasn’t crazy about that, but besides that, this series is incredible! I know how hard it can be to put something like this together, and I thank you guys for writing this beautiful love letter to the slowly fading Invader Zim fandom. Jhonen would be proud. Keep up the great work! 😁

i been an invader zim fan sense i was a kid and was sad how it ended with the movie. But thx to this i cant wait to watch more of this.

Everything about this is immaculate- the voice acting is so full of emotion, the impressions fit the characters, the writing is compelling (with a healthy dose of drama), and the art is appealing and well-made. Everyone who worked on this did an amazing job!
