If you are thinking of buying a home here, have it inspected during a downpour/wet season. That's when major problems show up that you would not discover during dry weather. Get an infrared camera for DIY peeps.
Great tip but I'm going to push back a bit. I think its in the best interest of buyers to hire a general home inspector who offers infrared camera as part of their service. DIY-ing any part of the inspection is not advisable. Hiring a reputable inspector who will investigate the home with a fine tooth comb is advisable.
@@SalemOR I agree, infrared doesn't cover everything that an inspector does on an inspection, but it can eliminate contenders w/o having to pay for the whole enchilada. Non-invasive, non-destructive and not rocket science. Cheers!
I am living in Chelan WA and I love Oregon. Some are saying Portland is a con. I think that just depends on the person. I for one think that any big city is a con. The Pacific North west is huge bigger than a lot of countries. So pick the spot that fits your liking. there is plenty of room.
Hi. My name is Balasubramanian (I know that is a mouthful) and I am a resident of Chennai, Tamilnadu, India. I usually watch videos about places which I may not have the chance to visit. Also, such videos give me an idea or two on what to do to improve living conditions in my city.
It's funny you didn't mention what really bothers some people - nonstop rain and gloomy days, plus increasing crime in Portland. Definitely major cons!
I’m watching this video from Luanda capital of Angola, more specifically in south side of Africa, and yes, I already had Oregon as one of my options to move into, concretely in Portland, but right now, I’m trying to finish all the research to decide.
4 seasons. Fall is much lile Northern California. Winter can surprise you with frezzing rain or a snowmaggeden. Spring seems long because when summer is here it seems short. Eugene, OR P.S. so many wineries so little time.
lol you are correct. As I was editing I realized that too. Hopefully others will upvote your comment so the basketball fans don’t get too upset 🏀 🙃 Sorry basketball loving peeps. My bad.
You should re title your video to before you move to the Willamette, and not Oregon. Most of what you talked about is on the western part of the state, but not of Oregon overall
I absolutely hate the lack of rain and how hot it is in California. So I think I'm really going to enjoy Oregon
If you like the rain you're going to love living in Oregon. What part of the State do you want to relocate to?

I thought that we had a pro basket ball team? I didn't get the sports gene either, but I know that the Portland Trail Blazers are part of the NBA. LOL

You're right. I talked mostly about the West side of the State. Thanks for the suggestion. Where in OR are you?
Just avoid Portland, stay 40 miles out of the perimeter.
I agree, don't move to Oregon! It rains here 365 days a year 7 days a week!
Are you serious?
Pros and Cons? Only Cons living in Oregon. Especially around Portland.
