- Lego Star Wars has had some amazing sets over the years, with so many including phenomenal builds, starfighters and minifigures. But which year of Lego Star Wars could be considered there worst? Well in this video I will be discussing the year 2020, and taking a look at all the sets that were released, to try and figure out whether this is the worst year of all time. I look at sets from The Rise of Skywalker, The Mandalorian and The Original Trilogy as well as many more.

It's one of the better years imo. I miss cheap location builds.
I actually kinda miss the sequel sets. The minifigures were well made and the ships looked cool.

A smart way to build an army of mandalorians from the mandalorian battle pack is just switching parts from the figures to make different mandalorians!!

I was just getting out of my LEGO "dark ages" in 2020/21, so these were the sets on the shelves when I got back into collecting, and I may have missed quite a few better sets from the previous few years. I actually did like a few of these sets, like Obi-Wan's Hut/Landspeeder, the Mustafar Duel, and that year's advent calendar.
The world was not ready for the $90 X-Wing.
I really don't think 2020 was that bad. But I definitely think 2021 was much worse. There were some good sets, but really it was such a mid year. It was OK, that's all. The Mandalorian Battlepack is my personal favourite battlepack of all time.
You left out the speeder Rey had from this year, but great vid!

I liked the variety of this year, and I feel like the summer wave definitely makes up for the lackluster first half. Technically it was an exclusive set but I feel like bespin duel could have been included on this list as it was released in North America, and that was a great set too. I think 2021 and especially 2022 were much better but still a solid year.
Honestly I still think 2018 was the worst year for Lego Star Wars

I think that the fact that we got some amazing sets aka the 501st battle pack and the Mos Eisley Cantina cancels out all of the bad sets.
Those two are definitely great sets
501st battle pack gonna clutch this year
The sets we got in 2020 were far better then 2019 & 2018, there was more variety for the movies and shows
I think there are a few good heavy hitters from this year that redeem the year for the bad sets. I would look between 2016-2018 for one of the worst years
The other think about the resistance transport from galaxy's edge - is that the blue and grey color scheme match the resistance x wing with the fire trooper, and the resistance bomber. So together they form a color coordinated resistance fleet which I really like and I think is often over looked.
Oh shoot that is so true! I always forget about that X-Wing, definitely would make for a cool looking fleet
Not a bad year at all, Mos Eisley Cantina one of the greatest sets of all time, ucs A Wing, the best play scale at at, the razor crest, and 501st battlepack is not a bad year, alongside some other ok builds like boba fetts helmet, anakins interceptor and the kor transport
They should have included more sets for The Rise of Skywalker, even if just 2 or 3. A set based on the Final Order's Xyston-Class Star Destroyer would have been great to get with some of the Sith Crew Members and Troopers.
A set of the Exegol Throne Room with the resurrected Emperor Palpatine, maybe with a feature like the Darth Vader Transformation that switches between his undead and healed form would be awesome.
And a small set based on the duel on the Death Star Ruins would have been great to have as an inexpensive set.
Otherwise, I dunno, I liked most of these sets. The Razor Crest, the Lamdspeeder and the AT-AT look great on display. And I wish I had gotten Poe's X-Wing and Obi-Wan's house.
Also, while I'm really glad for the 501st pack, I think the harassment the Lego Group received was unnecessary, and I think sets a bad precedent going forward, like the gate surrounding the Gunship from 2022. Hopefully they can move forward and not feel beholden to the demands of online trolls.
Exegol final battle NEEDS to happen, so much potential...
Thing is, most fans (myself included) couldn't care less about sequel sets, and want more clone wars, RotS or OT sets. The squels sets aren't bad on themselves (blame the movies, not lego) but I can understand why they have less pull than the other themes among SW & lego community. Also, there are plenty of sets that are long overdue and while they can make new sets, there's also a high demand of remakes so new customers can grab some figures and builds that otherwise are crazy expensive.
@@eintha3883 Well, I think there needs to be more sequel representation (Exegol/The Libertine/UA-TT/Maz Kanata's Castle) as well as Fallen Order/Jedi Survivor, Andor, Maybe Acolyte/Outlaws etc etc
@jackfrost3096 Yes I agree. It would be just great to have the final battle of each film represented in LEGO. And Exegol's Throne of the Sith would be amazing to have on display.
I also think they could do a master builder set for each film like they did the Yavin Base: Maz Kanata's Castle on Takodana, the 'Supremacy' Super Star Destroyer, and Exegol with the temple included would be great to have.
Fans of those movies shouldn't be left in the dark.
I also would like to see stuff based on Andor or the Video Games.
