Great instructional video! I can’t believe the cheap plastic Whirlpool used. Everything crumbled when taking apart the old rack assembly. Dishwasher only 1.5 yrs old
I was irritated that our dishwasher, after less than 2.5 years of use, had not one but TWO wheels break. I didn't know how easily I'd find a solution, but lo and behold, I came across this video right away and it was*exactly* what I needed. Thank you for the part recommendation and explanation that was much, much better than the instructions that came with the parts.
Thanks a million. I am a 66 year old widow and did not want to pay someone to do something that you could show me how to do. I watched your video and did it in no time. I love my dishwasher and want to keep it as long as I can.
Thank God I found your channel and watched your video. My top rack in my whirlpool dishwasher was broken due to my soon to be ex was very rough and reckless with it breaking it! I bought the parts but had very little cleaning to reassemble it. You made the process to fix it a piece of cake❣️
You are awesome. My dishwasher cost around $450 a couple of years ago and I started having this issue. Called their service dept. and they wanted $350 to come out and cover it. No thanks. $30 and this video and I'm hoping to be back in business when the parts get here. Instant subscribe. Thank you!
Thank you Dan the fix it man! All I needed was your video to get it done! I was quite impressed with myself! My husband was my fix it man for 43 years, he didn’t believe that we ever needed to hire anyone to fix things, you didn’t need to be a brainiac to fix anything 😂😂 He passed in June of 2019, and my kids would do things, but their time is precious, so I’m going with my husband’s rule! Except my car! Computer age ruined that 😂😂 Thank you!
I just want to say a huge thank you for this video!!! This was awesome! I have never done anything like this in my life but with your help I was able to help get my parents dishwasher back to normal. I did need my brother-in-law's help with the levers at the end that you described as an axel because I couldn't quite figure out how to get them on. But thank you so so much.
This video was excellent. Replaced mine in no time. It was especially helpful since the instructions that came with the parts were so dark you couldn't see the pics. Thanks again for the video!
Thank you so much for this video!!! My dishwasher top rack has been hanging for about a year. I came across your video and you not only told me what I needed to buy but also showed me how to install it!! This video was a lifesaver!!! Thank you!!!

brief & to the point. the recommended part worked perfectly, just as shown but it did not include the plastic stopper that keeps the rack from pulling too far out. Be sure and preserve the old one. God bless!
Big appreciation for your instructions, your part ref, your pacing. Easy to follow. Once I got the part delivered probably 40 minutes to replace and that was partly because I started on the wrong end for the first replacement!
Thank you for this video! We purchased the kit from your link and fixed our annoying dishwasher rack that was constantly falling off the rail. It works perfectly now! Thank you again!
Wow, what a pleasure it is to watch a video that is in focus, clear, understandable, and accurate. Verified my model number and ordered from Amazon. Easy-Peasy.
Excellent (& concise) step-by-step! Great product recommendation! $30 & 20 minutes of my time to be rid of my janky half-broken upper rack wheels?!? No-brainer. Thank you!
Thanks to you, Dan, the dishwasher rack is finally fixed. No more crashing rack. Now, when guests offer to load the dishwasher, I won't jump up and say "That's OK!'
Thank you for this! I've had the video and the parts for weeks, but I'm not very knowledgable so I was nervous to start. It was so easy! Once I got the right screwdriver it only took about 20 minutes. Great job explaining the process.
I am not handy and this was my phenomenal. Just remember to go slow and remember to put the first piece on the right portion of the rack. Thanks for your guidance, I did it just as you guided me.

Hi again Dan The tracks that come out with the rack are not returning into the dishwasher with the rack I have to manually push them in for the door to close thx for your help
Great Job. Worked perfectly on my DW same model as yours! Appreciate the guidance. These instruction sheets just suck. Note if you use Lemi-Shine DW Booster it will make your dishes super clean and after 3 years the inside of our DW looks like brand new. No hard water or calcium build up. Thanks again.
Hello! Thank you for this really detailed video. I followed it exactly and was able to replace the parts. My only issue was that I have tiny hands and had a bit of trouble holding the parts while trying to keep everything together. But I managed, so if I can, anyone can! Thank you!
They can’t make it any cheaper. Next time I’ll check out the construction before I buy. Nothing good to say about the US quality engineering of these machines. Your video was Great. Thank you.
I don't know how old my dishwasher is, maybe twenty years or more. Maybe thirty. I don't want to buy a new one when I see the comments about the modern dishwashers breaking down with the same problem I already have!

This was awesome!!!! And advice when track is not perfectly fitting into the back manifold? Either up fully or down and I have to fidget a bit to get in perfect. Help?
Hi Cliff, Hard to know without seeing it, but it might be possible that the clips or the new plastic pieces are slightly off, or maybe they are installed on the wrong sides or upside down? I would start there and double check all of that first. If you mean you’re having this issue with the original plastic pieces and hardware, it’s possible that the wheels/slides are worn out causing it to slightly miss the back manifold. Best of luck to you with it! Thanks for watching! -Dan the Fix it Man
Hi Dan. You made a great, step-by-step video. I have an older GU2475XTVQ1 model Whirlpool dishwasher with a top rack that keeps falling. Super annoying. I don't see a rack for that particular model on the giant online seller's site or on a couple of Whirlpool sites I checked out. Do any "Whirlpool" rack adjuster kits, even knockoffs, work with various models? Thanks.
I have found that with most kitchen appliances, many parts are interchangeable among models and even different brands. You might try a parts finder on another appliance parts supplier website. You can enter the make and model and a lot of times, they will help you with an exact part model number that you can then search amazon for. Best of luck to you! -Dan the Fix it Man
Because my husband and I are "those people," and we really are quite stupid when it comes to anything mechanical, we turned the dish rack around when we moved to a better working surface (not paying attention) and put the entire assembly on at the FRONT of the rack. We didn't realize what we had done till we installed it and it only pulled out halfway 😆 We couldn't remove the new assembly without breaking one of the tabs, so we're purchasing another, we'll try again, and hopefully we'll get it right! LOL But it really was a very good video, just that one thing wasn't explicitly said, so of course, we screwed it up!
I quit using Whirlpool. I just finished placing my five year old Whirlpool dishwasher on the curb after 3+ repairs (both boards and water leaks). Repairs are high between year 2 and year 5. I am now using LG until Whirlpool (also sold under multiple names like kitchen-aide) fixes their reliability problems so that their dishwashers provide higher reliability between years 2 and 5. As with most newer appliances, the kitchen appliance industry is struggling with circuit board designs and are still learning how to make circuit boards that are water proof and last 10 years (durable goods requirement) without failures resulting from aging components like capacitors. Of course, the appliance industry redefined durable goods as 10 years of reliability on a few mechanical parts only. In reality, durable goods applies to the entire unit. Like cars, loss of market share will sooner or later result in an effort to remedy the reliability issues. First, they need to hire engineers that now how to specify the electronic components properly (i.e. military grade) source control specifications.
Wonderful directions the only thing he did not remind us is to make sure the glider is in the correct position on both sides because if is not and you click in that little plastic piece it is difficult to get it out without breaking it.
Time to use a dishwasher cleaner. All that white is detergent. If its on the racks, it is in the pump, delivery hose and spray arms It will look brand new Btw Whirlpool has this kit for both sides and the wheels are better.
@@tanubatlawala3025 I use white vinegar and baking soda, I also use finish brand dishwasher cleaner, you will have to put the vingra in a bowl upside down in the upper half-liter basket, put the baking soda on the base of the dishwasher and in the dispenser (close the dispenser), use the strongest program you have and with the highest temperature
@@tanubatlawala3025 You should clean machines once a month to make your dishwasher last longer and wash better or like when it was new (if you don't want to buy it, use vinegar and bicarbonate as I told you in the previous comment) Remember once a month and you'll see results at 2-3 months
