    Nicky I know there is a few other navy youtube channels out there but you're main source knowledge out of all of them that I can take seriously, its is very inspiring learning from someone who is still in for a while and even progressing to try and be an officer. Basically what i'm saying is, you're the real deal.

    Hi Nicky,
    I love the vids, they are addictive, and you have great messages about how the military can supercharge young people’s lives. I would like to see if you can talk about the pipeline to become a Naval Officer. For example, attending the Naval Academy, the Merchant Marine Academy, the other state Marine Academies, ROTC, and Direct Commission. Last, can you highlight how awesome the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Program is? I had no idea that such a program existed, but now refer young people to it.

    Great advice in the video, but one other very big thing is to make sure the job is something that you will find enjoyable. Or at least not hate.
    You may have an aptitude for some things that you would not want to spend most of your waking hours doing. Read about the ratings and MOS that you qualify for, then ask yourself what you would really be happy doing.
    Promotion and post service career opportunities are important, but so is job satisfaction and enjoyment.
    Look for the opportunity that gives you the best overall life.

      •Use your military service time networking to get a career as a Federal employee and buy your military service time back!
      •You could also enter into the reserves/National Guard to continue your military service after your Active Duty service.

      masturball I heard nuke life sucks in the navy and everything I’ve heard is scaring me a little. I do know that there is a huge re-enlistment bonus and civilian nuclear power operators have it a lot better. So most navy nukes only do one enlistment then live the good life as a civilian. So I’m struggling and trying to weigh my options on rates before jumping in on nuke.

    • @tyson1chicken
      @tyson1chicken 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RizaldoMullings All you said is true and it really is a big pros and cons thing. I just had had an acid trip and I started questioning it hardcore. I'm leaning towards pulling out. 6 years enlistment is too long to be doing the hardest work in the navy. If you're a nuke, you can be anything.

    • @denniskowalski8442
      @denniskowalski8442 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nuke is hard and they overfill it up knowing people will wash out and then your swabbing decks for 6 years....but if you bust your butt and make it they offer huge reenlistment bonus because you can make a 100k easy as a nuke certified civilian

    • @rorymajors2504
      @rorymajors2504 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@denniskowalski8442 you don’t even have to go nuke in civilian life to earn 6 figures many companies will hire ex nukes and offer huge salaries because they know they are highly trainable. I assume you all already made your decisions but for anyone else looking life in Dan be tough but the reward when you get out is huge.
      And I wouldn’t say most nukes do their 6 and get out. It is all over the place for length of service.

      I’m going to be honest when I say this. Most STG’s will say the same Information provided here. Once you’re in you can definitely re-read it and you’ll see it’s pretty accurate.

    how to make money in a military, pick a job that will give you a national trust (top secret), make sure that job has anything to do with CYBER. proceed to get all your certifications saving you thousands. proceed to get out after 4 years and activate your 9/11 GI bill. Proceed to go to a university and get a STEM degree in technology. Profit for the rest of your life.

      Kris Strong are there any other good civilian transferring jobs that aren’t cyber?

      @@daniel-ss1rk I can only speak on Air Force as i'm currently an E5 in the service. I can say without a doub though RF Transmission or 3D1X3 which is eventually going to become 1D7 has great prospects. A buddy finished his 6 year commitment and was hired on by linquest to work in Clear Alaska doing exactly what he did for the Air Force making 125k. In Fact every single person who i knew that was a 3D1X3 has gotten defense contractor jobs or GS/WG positions
