I think pretty much any game based on a IP as big as JoJo will have some sort of competitive scene, despite the lack of rollback this game actually looks fun which puts it above most licensed games

In regards with who lost in Grand Finals, it was not bc they missed an input, dropped a combo, or lacked meter. They lost bc they dared to challenge their Fate and that was the result

Diavolos damage is insane but its at the cost of no attacking supers and being very meter hungy while also not building meter very well. Oh and epitaph does more than the auto stylish doge it also makes his dash faster and lets him dash through the opponent to switch sides.
It also makes the dash go longer

Holy moly never realized this, his so accurate to the anime/manga, activates epitaph see it's a good results straight up rushes to the opponent
Hes basically worthless now that they nerfed some timings so certain specials cant combo anymore. Went way down to being a low tier

That last game actually had me on the edge of my seat. This game has some amazing potential to be big in competition.

it's pretty cool to see the fgc give back to jojo's after jojo's did so much for the fgc itself like inspiring designs and characteristics for the street fighter cast as well as numerous references in other games as well. I love the love this game is gettin, hell yeah.
It would be even more popular if this game is more similar to the one made by Capcom in both gameplay and pace.

Big respect to the crazy slick production on top of a great tourney! Great commentary and really great custom transitions, backgrounds and graphics all over! You can feel the Jojo love just bursting from the screen constantly and it makes the whole viewing experience that much more hype.
The Grand Final's matchup is ironically what you would expect from a HFTF's Grand Final :D

I've been checking out this game recently and this definitely got me hype. On top of the production with the Loser's and Winner's bracket and Grand Finals including the reset having lore names was very fun. Cherry on top for saying the Winner achieved Heaven LOL!

I love this game so much! I'm glad it doesn't take long to find games on PC but I feel like the community is going to have to keep this game alive longer term.
Yeah now it takes forever to find matches on steam/pc at like anytime of the day and if you play a match after another match 80% of the time it’s the same dude you just fought same with ranked

Crazy how the top two characters in Heritage for the Future are duking it out again in Grand Finals lol.
Really hoping they tone back zoning in a balance patch since they have a serious advantage over close range fighters. And watching 2 people in a zoning match is less visually interesting in my personal opinion but that’s just me.
This is CC2 we’re talking about though so I doubt we’ll see much focus on balance patches

1 match in and I don't know if it's a lack of range on Kosaku's part, but Kakyoin seems like a very annoying character to play against, especially with the new assist bursts giving escapes from combos. I'm not versed in the intricacies of ASB/ASBR though, so I'm sure there's *some* form of counterplay right?

Zoners in this game are simply op. It's like an entire character based around Akuma's Hadoukens in Tekken.

A great tournament game based on a franchise that I love, I love that there are tournaments for this game and I hope they will continue in the future.
The only bad thing I see about the game (the version used in the tournament) is that characters with ranged attacks have a lot of advantage over melee characters. It is no coincidence that the final is 2 characters with ranged attack, they should balance the game so that more characters are viable for the tournament.
About the combos there are not so many complaints since they are good but the maximum power takes too much life, they should lower the damage.
kosaku's air bomb is good at long ranges but against a zoner it just get's popped
characters with projectiles end up being his worst match ups

The game is extremely fun, and surprisingly balanced, but has very bad netcode. If you live in North America or any region with good connections, you're probably gonna get addicted.
this game has a lot of unique characters with fun mechanics and it's really easily to learn and do combos... dont expect the online to be good but if you got a good net and wants to play with someone who's near you, you probably gonna have a good time tho
It's good if you like Jojo, but not if you don't like pretty unbalanced fighters. Game is slightly clunky and has a learning curve, and as you can see in this video the zoners are just as ridiculous as they were in Heritage to the Future. Despite all this, it's a fun game. Personally I wish I waited for a sale instead of paying 60 for it.

Is there a difference between what assist character you pick? Or do you not have a choice?
Each character has a different type of assist, Jonathan's for example is an anti-air while Mista's is a long range attack. You're free to pick which assist character you want, but they're limited to a single predetermined move.
basically there's 2 types of diamonds/circles under the your assist, one of them means "Attack" and the other means "Defense", one you can activate always and the other you can only use while you're getting hit to break the combo, the quantity varies on the assist you pick
plus every assist has a different type of attack, some are ranged and some just jump in throw 1 or 2 punches and then dip, so picking an assist to make up for your character's weakness is good

This is a very different game than the PS3 version. Probably better in the long run. I just wish Lisa Lisa didn't suck in this version. (And Brando. Look how they massacred my formerly derpy boy. At least his assist is good.)
Good diversity in the top 8, though. I was half expecting a sea of Prosciutto. And I was not expecting to root for Pet Shop of all characters, lol. I am very much a fan of the Bastard Bird.

@@kue5053 DBFZ was developed by a completely different company and had like 10 times the player base of this game. I wouldn't go getting your hopes up just because both games were published by Bandai, publishers have absolutely nothing to do with implementing cahanges to netcode.
@@mvmusic8467 publishers give the money, arcsys wanted to put rollback on it since strive release 2 years ago, but the higher-ups in Bandai thought it wouldn't be worth the investment, and well, seems like 3 years later they changed their minds
Funny that Kakyoin is still considered top tier while Petshop is outright broken in the old Jojo fighter by Capcom. And in here ASBR they still keep up with the tradition despite being made by an entirely different developers.
At this point, I mostly hear that Kakyoin is more broken in HFTF
