I love how in 2 when you hear the tapes between Dex and Troy, Dex admitted he knew Troy was a cop, something about his demeanour and "shitty haircut" and I think he mentioned Troy always being nosy, I might be wrong about that. You can probably find a TH-cam clip on that. Looking back at Troy's scenes, yeah, it was pretty obvious he was sketchy.
One line was like “I don’t like Lin being undercover. You roll with them for too long you start to think like them.” Edit: toastalicous had the time stamp for it.
Fact about the mission Canonized: If you manage to take down all the enemies, you get a cutscene with Dex comparing you to Gat, and Johnny saying it took him half the time.

Saints row is a parody of an already farcical game. The video game equivalent of Scary Movie to Scream if you will. Any story in it is an added bonus and should not be expected. All that should expected it comedic nonsense to parody Grand Theft Auto.
This game has such friggin amazing sound design, especially in the cutscenes. Everything just has the right feel to it, and there's not really any moments where things are awkwardly silent when they shouldn't be, or feel like there's missing sounds. Trust me, a LOT of games get that wrong all the time, even today. In cutscene gunfights you can hear the whizzing of bullets and the folley of things blowing up and falling, and even the sound of vehicle engines matches where the viewer would be located in the scene if it was in reality. Top tier stuff
The intro cutscene is literally perfect. Watches guy is the greatest fictional character of all time, Levar is a close second. And pretty much every scene in the Vice Kings storyline is amazing (especially 38:49). This game is just really well written. It has characters that actually feel human, (SR2 is even better at this though) Dex, Johnny, Benjamin “Motherfuckin’” King, and Julius are all extremely well written and the great voice acting really accentuates that. Too bad Dex never got a real conclusion to his story (Gat out of Hell doesn’t count).
Honestly, if Joseph was coerced into separating with his uncle, there could've been a parlay with Joseph and Julius so they could possibly join forces. Besides being knuckle heads, Rollerz aren't so bad.
Think about it if those VK never sprayed that wall maby earth would not be blown up or the zin may not of invaded and the saints would not end up in the white house

Everything about this game was legendary. If you had an Xbox 360 in 2006 you played this gem. What first seemed to be a GTA Clone proved to be so much more, remember it being crazy you could customize your own guy and the voice acting and story were top notch. I’m still playing this game when the Saints and Gat ruled Stillwater. ⚜️
Julius was such an epically dramatic character. It's a shame they ended his timeline. Ittd be interesting to see him come back as a rival gang boss or something

The thing about this game is that you deal with the leader and second-in-command and an enforcer, but its different for each one. One you snipe the original leader then deal with the other 2 for the majority of the time. Another the leader gets thrown out. The final one.... that's a weird way to organize crime but its the enforcer you take care of last.
Saints Row 1 & 2 Story Lines the best ever. Had a deep story like The Getaway, Mafia Games, True Crime LA and NY, Sleeping Dogs, GTA San Andreas/Vice City/GTA 4/Lost and Damned, 25 to Life, 50 Cent Bulletproof, etc. These graphics still fire 🔥 as hell.

First two games were not just amazing gameplay-wise, but were also brilliant criminal dramas, remind me of Guy Ritchie's movies - the stories of money and power that take such a turn in their development where mentioned things stop having any value in the face of betrayal and violence, and where things that really matter start to seem more apparent. The humor, the dialogues and the overall story seem much more mature. After these many years I see saints row 3 as a major letdown, where nihilism, lack of any reason, and "haha look at him fart" jokes became the drawing cards.
they also were really underrated multiplayer-wise, that aspect was just removed in Saints Row 3 besides the co-op. I think SR 3 was fun as a standalone one and done spin-off, but as a sequel it was awful.
I have not played this in so long. SR1 does not get the respect it deserves. SR2 improved on nearly aspect but SR1 is so great. I don’t mind that the series went a little more comical. SR 1 & 2 may always be the best (imo anyways) but SR has it’s own identity now I think instead of just being labeled a “GTA clone”. I do agree that SR4 went way over the top but it’s still a fun game to just turn your brain off and do stupid stuff. SR3 I think was good balance of still being like GTA a little bit just more comical and hilarious. Let’s hope the next SR game goes back to being slightly more serious but without losing the humor

Gotta give props to Kenn Michael to be the only VA to voice the main character in all 4 main SR entries (as male voice 2 in the following games).
First two games were not just amazing gameplay-wise, but were also brilliant criminal dramas, remind me of Guy Ritchie's movies - the stories of money and power that take such a turn in their development where mentioned things stop having any value in the face of betrayal and violence, and where things that really matter start to seem more apparent. The humor, the dialogues and the overall story seem much more mature. After these many years I see saints row 3 as a major letdown, where nihilism, lack of any reason, and "haha look at him fart" jokes became the drawing cards.
they also were really underrated multiplayer-wise, that aspect was just removed in Saints Row 3 besides the co-op. I think SR 3 was fun as a standalone one and done spin-off, but as a sequel it was awful.

I have not played this in so long. SR1 does not get the respect it deserves. SR2 improved on nearly aspect but SR1 is so great. I don’t mind that the series went a little more comical. SR 1 & 2 may always be the best (imo anyways) but SR has it’s own identity now I think instead of just being labeled a “GTA clone”. I do agree that SR4 went way over the top but it’s still a fun game to just turn your brain off and do stupid stuff. SR3 I think was good balance of still being like GTA a little bit just more comical and hilarious. Let’s hope the next SR game goes back to being slightly more serious but without losing the humor
