Nice tip Oli! I assume you use this whitebalance for the whole set of photos after? I think another approach can be to use the grey card to set the correct whitebalance in the camera while shooting? Either way, a nice and simple solution to get your colors right 👌🏻

Yes, you’re right. In my case, unless there is a very specific need for me to have perfect wipe balance every time I just use it as a reference point when I remember to. It’s come in handy a little bit more since I’ve been in so many situations where greenery has affected my natural light.

Great explanation! Is wb baked in at all on raw files?

Why not a white card, does it specifically have to be grey for some reason?

As far as I know either will work for white balance but with a grey card you can also measure exposure. Also I’m not sure how to adjust for wipeout and Lightroom… But I’m sure there’s a way.

Lil tip: if you use a Sony the back lens cap is also a grey card !

@oliscurra Absolutely so! A grey card was the first camera accessory I bought in the early 80s. 😊
I have been able to return to the negs and colour transparencies decades later, now once scanned, fix things up. 🤝
I recently subscribed to your channel, by the way. What you say about the 75mm Summilux affirms my experience with a borrowed example. 👌
      Cheers, Kevin.
