Sorry but a dumb question: your score for set 1 lists 6 - 6. In college, they continue to set 2 when the score is tied? I don't think so but I don't know a thing about college rules. Thanks.

They don't. Stanford had already clinched the doubles point when these guys were in the tiebreaker, so they stopped the match.

Kumar grew overall as a player, he's playing really well!

Hmm made a lot of unforced errors though

Kumar was always a really good doubles player because of his IQ and net game. However his serve or ground strokes didn't have enough power which is why he wasn't as good of a singles player as a doubles player. I was very surprised that he and Genender didn't qualify for the 2018 doubles championship.

What does Match abandoned mean? Other than the obvious.... why was it abandoned?

Martin tapalla Stanford had already won the doubles point by winning 2 and 3 doubles so this match was pulled to begin the singles matches.

Overhead is the most often missed shot

Overhead Lesson 101... always, always Bounce a lob in front of you that is coming in at 12:00. You back up let it bounce and then smash it at serve height... poor coaching :)
