I think that describing your process is an out of the box and perfect proposal. Trusting the unknown and build with others, enjoying the journey and giving birth to art that way is so refreshing and beautiful. You can share that and refer to how it has come to be in your past projects. I wish the best of success, lots of commissions and love to you.. And one book I always recommend is Every Day by David Levithan 💛

This is SUCH an interesting discussion. So so fascinating. I suppose also that your work speaks for yourself. Your success probably speaks volumes! I bet then this is also where commendations from other groups who have worked with you are really important. Loved seeing you. I also adore Utah.
As a visual artist it’s really interesting to hear you talk from a performance artist point of view! I think proposals might be something you’ll develop a skill for as you go, I think it’s more of a marketing skill than an artistic one. Selling yourself in a way that gets you in the door and then doing your thing and developing your reputation, and maybe then there’d be more of an expectation for the kind of process you like, you might be known for it, and then it would be easier to get hired. That’s the dream!
You got me thinking of how your open extempore - like approach could be the creative crux of your proposals. Bringing a fertile void to a dance co to collectively inform; and 'co-op' the outcome with your professional guidance. Just thought I'd share that. By the way, is your partner a content creator on youtube?
Just got my library hold on Parade by Rachel Cusk.. had it reserved since before it was even published. Finishing off The Testaments - sequel to The Handmaids Tale.It got slated but as someone who liked the first book and is enjpying the tv series I've found it interesting to see some of the background to how it all happened
