      Hoping you will do a vid on your calving process. I’m really curious if you’re milking 400 cows what does the calving system look like. Pens, feeding routine of cows due to calve, how many are assisted through the nighttime etc

    Very impressed by how clean you keep your farm and machinery.It gives a good professional image of an organized efficient buisness.

    Nice neat clamp and yard. 3cx an unusual yoke for feeding but if it works why change. I Farm We Farm is a good channel too. Dairy man like you and a very tidy operator. They might get ya opening round bales at speed. Bale challenge. Cool, Nice one.

    Just found your channel and subscribed.
    Whoever clamps your silage does a bloody good job with no walls from what I can see. His long does milking take and what system do you have?
    All the best.

      Thanks for your comment! Yes Danny who drives the loader always does a very good job 👍 we are spring, calving grass based milking through a 60 bale rotary which would milk around 350 cows an hour on average

    Would you ever consider a 4cx or a 5cx if you were to ever change the 3cx

    • @MCMilkingIt
      @MCMilkingIt  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes we do consider the 4cx each time we change but still have stuck with the 3cx as it has better maneuverability for some of our sheds and of course is cheap, but maybe in the future if we wanted to get a big grab it would be considered again

    How do u get dry cow minerals into cows. Do u just sprinkle on top of silage.

    Why no diet feeder... would u manage your time better??

    • @MCMilkingIt
      @MCMilkingIt  4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      It takes me less than 90mins a day to feed 480 cow's including feeding out and pushing in. I doubt I could do it as fast with a diet feeder

    How many cubicles have you there and how many cows would you expand to? And do you zero graze grass on your farm

    • @MCMilkingIt
      @MCMilkingIt  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is 414 cubicles in the main block and another 130 cubicles in the old yard. We want to expand the herd to 420 milking cows. We don't do any zero grazing

    Great video👌🏻how many cows are u milking. And how do you find having the cows housed outside. Do you plan on putting a roof over the slats in the future.

    • @MCMilkingIt
      @MCMilkingIt  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We will be calving 430 cows this spring. We find the outdoor cubicles work very well and our cows like them. No plans to roof them

    Lovely 3cx digger, how wide is ur grab? And does the silage go off much if u get alot of rain, with no roof??

    • @MCMilkingIt

      The grab is heavy enough on the front but the block would be 3ft high so if it was depends on the grab and how high the block is
