Hoping you will do a vid on your calving process. I’m really curious if you’re milking 400 cows what does the calving system look like. Pens, feeding routine of cows due to calve, how many are assisted through the nighttime etc
Nice neat clamp and yard. 3cx an unusual yoke for feeding but if it works why change. I Farm We Farm is a good channel too. Dairy man like you and a very tidy operator. They might get ya opening round bales at speed. Bale challenge. Cool, Nice one.
Just found your channel and subscribed. Whoever clamps your silage does a bloody good job with no walls from what I can see. His long does milking take and what system do you have? All the best.
Thanks for your comment! Yes Danny who drives the loader always does a very good job 👍 we are spring, calving grass based milking through a 60 bale rotary which would milk around 350 cows an hour on average
Yes we do consider the 4cx each time we change but still have stuck with the 3cx as it has better maneuverability for some of our sheds and of course is cheap, but maybe in the future if we wanted to get a big grab it would be considered again
There is 414 cubicles in the main block and another 130 cubicles in the old yard. We want to expand the herd to 420 milking cows. We don't do any zero grazing
Great video👌🏻how many cows are u milking. And how do you find having the cows housed outside. Do you plan on putting a roof over the slats in the future.
Great content. Hanging my head in shame at the cleanliness of your silage pit 🥲

Very impressed by how clean you keep your farm and machinery. It gives a good professional image of an organized efficient buisness.

Would you ever consider a 4cx or a 5cx if you were to ever change the 3cx

How do u get dry cow minerals into cows. Do u just sprinkle on top of silage.
Yep just sprinkle on top 👍
How long does the feed take? Great vid
Max 90mins a day to keep around 480 cows fed
Have you reported the theft of your roof to The Guard?
Haha 😂 sure if there was a roof the cows couldn't star gaze 😋
The jcb is good choice for loader multi task machine

Grand traditional loadall they were the thing before teleporter on farms. I suppose you had many 3cx in your time
Father always had a 3cx
Good job and god luck my 👍👍
Subscribed!
Good video dosnt seem the fastest way of doing it but everyone has a way
Cool to see a 3cx at it, we have a terex, is the wheel you use for pushing hooked on a tine
Yep that's all it is
Good job
Why a 3cx
Very versatile machine well suited to our farm 👍 I'll be doing a video on the 3cx soon so stay tuned
Why no diet feeder... would u manage your time better??
It takes me less than 90mins a day to feed 480 cow's including feeding out and pushing in. I doubt I could do it as fast with a diet feeder
@@MCMilkingIt you definitely wouldn't.
How many cubicles have you there and how many cows would you expand to? And do you zero graze grass on your farm

We will be calving 430 cows this spring. We find the outdoor cubicles work very well and our cows like them. No plans to roof them
Lovely 3cx digger, how wide is ur grab? And does the silage go off much if u get alot of rain, with no roof??
The grab is 5ft wide, I don't think the rain has too much af an affect
@@MCMilkingIt the amount of run off that has to be stored till jan 12 must be huge without a roof to divert the rainwater .....!
@@MCMilkingIt would she take a 6 ft grab? Have a 2011 3cx was thinking of getting 6ft grab next time
The grab is heavy enough on the front but the block would be 3ft high so if it was depends on the grab and how high the block is
Do you do that every day?
Every 3 days
Oh ok
Please support my channel,
How often do you lime the cubicles
Once a day
Hi buddy just been watching all ya vlogs top bloke love ya vlogs do ya cows stay out all nite
Thanks for the comment 👍 ya the cows are out fulltime
Im wasting my time. This lad can feed 10 times as many cows as fast.
as long as you have enough silage .........large grab and plenty of room to work it , .....there is nothing faster
