Why do the vets put their arm in each cow to scan? In New Zealand the scanners are mounted on a flexible probe, much easier on the cow and the scanning technician

They did have a probe actually that tge tried at the end and seamed to like. The risk with the probe is you can't feel your way around

Would u consider pregnancy test at milk recording I would only scan the heifers less stressful on cows I think the reliability is roughly same

Advantage with the scanning is you know how far along they are so you have more accurate predicted calving dates. That is important to us as we divide cows be calving dates coming into calving season.

Why are you not 10 in 7 instead of 11 and 7.and do you find it better

We found it harder to hold production at the weekend with 2 OAD milkings back to back. With milking TAD on a Saturday, you have 2 TAD milkings back to back, which gives the cows a little boost. Might switch to 10 in 7 later, but for now, the 11in7 is working well.

@boertjejanvh3696 I don't know who did to be honest. I was in New Zealand on college work placement at that time. I say the drawings were mixed up or misinterpreted and that the fall should have been the other way.
