From "The Fellowship of the Ring" by J.R.R. Tolkien. Excerp from the audiobook, sung by the narrator Rob Inglis. I searched for it on TH-cam but couldn't find this particular version.
I've read LOTR since I was a child. This rereading was the Rob Inglis audiobook. My stepfather has dementia now. This song made me think of him, and had me in tears.
For me, the definitive voice for The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. I can tolerate no other reading or voice. I listen to both at least once a year. So goes without saying, I love this version of a moving song and am so pleased you have provided it and the other songs. Thanks!

Yes agreed and totally get the listening all the time I probably listen to the series 3 times a year along with Harry Potter
This just popped into my head, and I had to hear it again. Glad I found it on TH-cam.
Post more of theese from the hobbit and lord of the rings
Does anyone know what the tune is?
I sit beside the fire and think
of all that I have seen
of meadow-flowers and butterflies
in summers that have been;
Of yellow leaves and gossamer
in autumns that there were,
with morning mist and silver sun
and wind upon my hair.
I sit beside the fire and think
of how the world will be
when winter comes without a spring
that I shall ever see.
For still there are so many things
that I have never seen:
in every wood in every spring
there is a different green.
I sit beside the fire and think
of people long ago
and people who will see a world
that I shall never know.
But all the while I sit and think
of times there were before,
I listen for returning feet
and voices at the door.
