    I am going to have to run to the hospital for oxygen because that Riv is breath takingly flawless and fabulous. Bless this man for his life's work getting these treasures

    My mother bought a 77 new, it looked just like this, also with the 403. I think although based on the LeSabre platform, the Riviera is really quite different. The roof, trunk, rear quarters and front facia are unique to the Riviera. The interior only shares the instrument panel with all full size Buicks, all other components are Riviera only. The interior is very plush and I think superior to many offerings from even Cadillac and Lincoln. Even the boat-tail shared it's platform with the Electra, which is how it became so large. That design, as originally planned, was to have been on the GP/Monte Carlo size chassis.

    I remember when this model of Riviera came out and everyone thought it was silly that they took a LeSabre and just rounded the rear fender line a bit and called it a Riviera. It was rally just a stop gap until they moved it to the downsized Eldorado platform. Regardless, a very nice pristine car.

    Same seats as a limited but much nicer door panels and I love that steering wheel my father had a 78 limited and a1979 Park Avenue.
    When you're driving them I love the flat Hood. That's so beautiful with the mileage and that light blue is a great color and that one has the lamp monitors and the cornering lights. 403 has a lot of torque

      Oh absolutely Christian I agree ! I am old enough to remember these cars brand new and they were beautiful. Back then people called them Le,Sabriera's because they looked so much like the LeSabre at the time. Of course Buick was in a 2 year transition awaiting the arrival of the all new MAJOR SELLING 1979 Riviera. My family drove Buick's and my great Aunt and Uncle took a trade in beating on their immaculate 1977 Riviera when they went to buy a new 80 Riviera because no one wanted the 77/78. They are beautiful cars and to see one today is a treat ! Keep up the good work I enjoy seeing you and your Dad's videos

    Very nice LE Sabre. *cough * cough * errr I mean Rivera Truly Is a great color combination and as always you did an impeccable job bringing this back! The 1977-8 Rivera was similar to the 1970 Riviera in that it was just a hold over for the next all new model. IMO The 1970 Rivera was THE UGLIEST and least attractive of any of them. Even the 1986 super downsized version while not the prettiest at least it was an all new model that delivered on Technology. First American car with a touch screen that one could control a variety of features from the radio, to climate control, etc. I believe it even had a very crude GPS that might have been an option. The 77-8 Rivieras were a dressed up LeSabre essentially to hold over the market until the very successful and IMO SEXY 1979-85 Riveras were released. Great work Bill

    A stunning example in a great shade of blue. The power antenna is probably best left alone, the radios from that era were not the best. I am sure it will do well in the auction.

    What was the car doing all those years? Also why did it need any paint work with only 3400 miles?

    • @christianbugatticg
      @christianbugatticg  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Jeff!! GM had issues with their blues, silvers and beiges. Car sat out for a period of time and the top of the car faded and in some spot faded down to primer. Each car has it's own story. I can tell you the sun was NOT good for single stage paints in those shades. Good news is, I brought back to shape and it's now standing tall!!

      Ummm it is pretty clear that these are ALL available on Bring a Trailer, which is an online auction site. I don't "ask" anything for them. Bid starts at ZERO and the market decides what it is worth. I let the public speak and rarely NEVER not sell a car! It is the easiest way to conduct a transaction. Sorry you are upset that you can't get a price upfront. Not sure that is a reason not to watch, but you sure are going to miss out on some of THE NICEST and MOST UNIQUE classics around!
