Alistair Lyne was visiting Kruger National Park, South Africa, in December 2023 when a greedy bull decided to cause havoc among the thirsty wildebeests and impalas.
Dramatic footage shows the elephant being confronted by a sole buffalo who despite its massive weight disadvantage drove the larger animal out of the water.

I wouldn't say the buffalo was smart to challenge the elephant. More like desperate for water!
This happens to male elephants on a mating season,they get extremely aggresive towards anything even trees.
He's protecting his water source. It's not unusual for elephants to chase off all of the other animals from a water hole like this. It doesn't matter whether they're are horny or not.
