  • Your disability application will NOT be approved because of your diagnosis (in most cases). It will be approved because of how your medical problems - physical and/or psychological - interfere with your ability to work.
    Video on diagnses that DO get approved: • Disability Conditions ...
    Work related abilities: see, hear, sit, stand, walk, lift, carry, handle objects, speak, travel, understand, remember, concentrate, persist, interact socially, and adapt.

    One time you said men won’t be approved for erectile dysfunction. I about died laughing.

    This has been one of the most helpful videos of yours I have watched. I’m 57. Different mental and physical issues. I’ve got my initial SSDI phone interview on Tuesday. But I didn’t realize a lot of the things you said in this video. Especially the journaling. Thank you for this video.

    My husband has been diagnosed with severe ptsd and he has filed for disability. We have a disability lawyer working on his case now. It's to early to tell if he gets it.

    Thank you, I would have been denied prior to turning 55 because of lack of medical evidence. Most of my diagnosis are in the mild to moderate stage and are not severe. The approval came with the grid rules for 55+ to include physical and mental disabilities with no improvement expected. Although, it is interesting that a doctor they sent me too; SSA claims, overemphasized my condition. I assume due to lack of other evidence. I guess I’m not as disabled as the doctor SSA contracts with thinks I am. Interesting, because if I have to be that disabled to get an approval for a medical condition then I probably need a legal guardian. The doctor said he didn’t recommend me handling my own finances and that my condition was marked but yet, a denial was going to be given.

      That's interesting. I've never heard of Social Security going against one of their CE doctor's opinions. You are correct about grid rules and age 55+

    Doctor, how do the grid rules affect 60 year old applicants with a 30-year full time work history regarding entry-level jobs?

    • @DisabilityExams
      @DisabilityExams  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It is easier to get approved at age 60, especially with a long work history, because Social Security thinks you wouldn't stop working for a minor reason. Here's a good video by Social Security Disability attorney Jonathan Ginsberg on the Grid Rules: th-cam.com/video/s0p04bOpe70/w-d-xo.html

      @DisabilityExams  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Stage IV lung cancer qualifies for Social Security Disability as a TERI case - if you apply, be sure to notify them it is a TERI case, you will go to the front of the line for expedited approval. Link: secure.ssa.gov/poms.nsf/lnx/0423020045
