I know that this is an early video, but i just want to state this now that Your roleplaying is perfect, The voice, the personality, it all fits together wonderfully!
William Edward no they did not but they were portrayed as such and it caused people who have no prior knowledge of historical armour to assume that they did
Yes, yes we all know this by now and don't forget the "Dragons" in game are not actually dragons, their wyverns because they only have 2 legs and wings, apposed to 4 legs and wings, like a dragon would have. (Fun fact: More people than you have played D&D and are historically inclined.)(Sorry if that sounded rude, your comment just really got my goat.)
Didn't Teutonic Knights have them though? And even more outrageous were the Polish winged hussars who basically dressed like angels of death. There were certainly some outlandish armor designs in the past, it's almost a shame the people with the blandest armor are the ones that get all the cool shit for their fantasy counterparts.
I love about everything about this let's play. Everything. The commentary cracks me up, the roleplay is entertaining and Skyrim is...well, Skyrim. While I admit telling you to keep doing good work when i can plainly see how far the series already goes might be a bit redundant, but just know that I love it so far.
This is pretty much the perfect Skyrim Let's Play and you have the perfect accent for Claudius's dialogue. The thought of all those episodes ahead of me is making me slightly giddy with glee. Doing my own role play game while I watch you as Aderith Nightbloom the orphaned Bosmer.
Using a 360 controller means movement is analogue. So I can walk or run as fast or slow as I like because I'm using a thumbstick instead of keys on a keyboard.
From the back the black wolf-skin cloak, i think, makes him look like a brother of the night's watch from game of thrones. Probably unintentional, but still cool!
I find myself coming back to this series more often than not, probably since this is the series that introduced me to Skyrim back in 2014... Good times. Thanks for the hours of entertainment, Dave.
You are quite entertaining, hilarious even, and sound the proper Brit, all stuffy and stuck up about what kind of armor you're wearing while at the same time complaining that people will recognize you as a Legionnaire! Good work, keep it up, and can't wait to watch the rest.
"farkas, her eyes are up here" friggin priceless. I love it when hilarious things like that happen in these games. Kind of reminds me of oblivion where when you talk to somebody, any other npcs in the background would freeze in occasionally ridiculous positions, or their face would have a hilarious expression.
He's probably a pretty ambivalent towards Khajit - they might be part of the dominion but they're so individualistic that means practically nothing. However he likely hates the Argonians as much as the Stormcloaks because they seceded from the Empire. Again though this isn't a racial thing - he just hates traitors, whatever their race may be.
Great work on this one. Will be interesting to see him find out that he is so closely tied to nord mythos and culture one he will discover he is the Dragonborn. I can imagine him panicking the first time he does a shout.
"Farkas, her eyes are up here." I was laughing so hard at that. I did not notice it at first, but then I saw that and couldn't stop laughing thanks for all that you do Jingles!
Horns on helmets would be the most debilitating thing in combat- An enemy could simply grab the horns and drag you to the ground, cutting your throat open in the process.
Fun fact: Viking Horn Helmets are historically incorrect. They nasal helms without horns. (I learned that from my history teacher who loves to rant about historical inconsistencies)
Yes! I've been looking forward for this LP for a while xD I didn't see this LP until now for some reason, must be the subscription thing messing up again...
No, Oblivion is monetized. Putting custom music into Skyrim however is a real pain in the arse, and to be honest I still really like Skyrim's music so I don't really mind.
You know i just realized what might have happened with those dead bandits outside the hideout. You turned on frostfall which *may* have affected them if they were outside long enough. Maybe. It's just a theory of mine. (or the game really could've bugged out).
+Black Wolf i think it does, i turned it on before starting the helgen start using Alternate Start LAL and the horse thief just dropped out of the cart from what i think was exposure. At least i was getting exposure in the cart and theres no other reason he would die
I don't know if youd be interested but the mod "Heavy armory" on the steam workshop adds in a bunch of weapon typees to the game. like short swords, and spears, and such. I personally think it makes the game feel a bit more diverse in its weaponry. And they're all added to the AI packages so you see them out and about as well.
I can see you getting the wayfarer skill to 100 very quickly, the way you wander around while you blabber on endlessly. Nothing wrong with that of course :)
Can`t believe i watched almost a hour of gameplay...and i didn`t feel it passing.amazing skyrim mods :) i wish i could find a pack for em.Have a good one;)
Actually, the people of Skyrim quite likely empty all their waste into the river, wash their clothes in it etc. Drinking downstream from that would definitely have very adverse health effects.
not sure if its your MOD or the version of this game nearly 2 years ago ...BUT i do not have most of these at 11:00 and on to 12 : 20 but that could just be me (i should start playing Skyrim again)
It's funny, I see it just the opposite way! When I play a character, I like to be in first person so I can literally "get in the character's head" and become one with him/her, rather than a puppet master controlling the character's actions from on high. "Amazing, the ability to infer significance in something devoid of detail!" -Vehk ;)
Shoulda used the Brutal Mutilation mod... makes the game a lot more fun, especially when using it indoors with Enhanced Blood, as you can literally paint the walls with blood and brain matter..... after all, dismemberment's, decapitations, incineration's, vaporization's, head splattering and bisections never get any less fun!
I prefer 3rd person because it allows me to distance myself from Claudius and treat him as a character rather than simply the avatar for my button-pressing. But each to his own.
I understand what you mean, I just feel as in roleplays the point is to essentially be your character, but as you said each to his own. Besides, I'm not going to stop watching over such a minor detail. Keep it up.
Jingles, the frame rate issues with dxtory may be because you are playing at 60fps but recording at 30. Most games don't mind, but it makes skyrim stutter. Try recording and playing both at 60. Sure it'll dip below, but it should stay well above 30 and remove those annoying stutters. Hope this helps! I discovered it doing some testing for my upcoming lp on my new channel.
Hey Jingles, if you're still taking mod suggestions, here's a few that might be useful/interesting: Bandolier - Bags and Pouches - lets you craft well... bags and pouches that you can equip and they increase your maximum carry weight Read and Learn Speechcraft - most books in game give you a bit of speech XP Warzones - Civil Unrest - adds random battles between factions in the world, quite awesome Airship - Dev Aveza - as pimp as it is, I'd say install it just as a sight to be seen
have you been watching the NEWS east cost is companing about the heat as well. what houses are built for and what type of AC makes all the diffrence. If you live in East Texas you should understand the problem if West Texas try 90's with high hummidity. Realy 86 but if the AC are not built to handle the temp. it is horable
Damage should increase the closer the Longbow is just means that you get less shots over time, Damage increases due to force not dissipating over flight time. If they did really good on this mod it should also be the most long range bow for penetrating armour. Crossbow lots of power but short range. :)
He addressed that in the prologue. Claudius fell asleep while on guard, and as a result the Stormcloaks were able to cross the boarder into Cyrodill and steal a nobel's horse.
Liking this RP so far...though I've noticed something. You seem to be playing mostly in 3rd person, and I was just wondering would it be possible you more so played in 1st person? It's not that I don't like it, I just think it would give a more immersive feel, seeing through the eyes of Claudius.
Jingles: Regarding the frame rate issues, have you tried enabling triple buffering? Vsync tends to cause big dips in frame rate without it. I don't know what hardware you have but I use RadeonPro for that sort of stuff. Also I used to get massive frame rate drops in that tavern, not sure what I did to get rid of them but it's much better now.
+BraceFace Mangaka 90% of the mods won't work. It's a similar engine to this, but it uses a slightly different scripting method, which in turn completely breaks any mods with scripting. The same, but different.
It's not the object of comparison that matters, it's the principle that it shows. The lesson if you will, in this case the point is that "You don't actually have to experience something firsthand to know everything about it." So what if the things I compared aren't similar, that doesn't limit the things that they can represent.
Is the howling sound not a diver? A bird that the Canadians get all excited about and call a Common Loon and put on their monies. It has a haunting call at dusk on the lakes.
As far as your issues with Dxtory and Skyrim, I recommend you try out Mirillis Action to record. It's a much more basic program, but for me I got little to no frame drop while recording with it, no matter the game.
I like to imagine that Claudius is actually really into flowers and such and he has to keep telling himself to not pick up every flower he sees
"Claudius, the great Imperial officer turned mercenary. Slayer of...one wolf and a deer."
Hello I'm from the future there is something called covid
@@vinchpop uh okay? pretty sure he knows what covid is
"I need to kill some wolves then" *gasp as Claudius runs in the direction of the local dog*
I will always love this play through and use it as an excuse to start another 300hr play through of Skyrim
8:17 That is the call of a Common Loon, Dave.
"Ornithology enthousiast flies away*
I know that this is an early video, but i just want to state this now that Your roleplaying is perfect, The voice, the personality, it all fits together wonderfully!
I really like the title cards at the beginning of each episode. Nice touch.
Who else is suffering from withdrawal and re-watching this series?
7 years later, and yes
Hahahahaha! That Farkas annotation! Brilliant!! You made my day, good sir!! :'D
ive been looking everywhere for an LP of skyrim where the player is so immersed in the game. you do this series justice. really enjoying this!
Have u checked Gopher's or GamerPoets channels. They have also immersive Skyrim Lp's
thanks for the suggestion!
Your role playing is really why I love your channel, keep up the good work.
"What's wrong with milk?!" - That sure made me chuckle
Summer Vacation makes summer the perfect time of the year to watch trough cladius' adventures again.
Actual vikings did not have horns or wings on their helmets.
"What's wrong with milk?" Love it haha

The mods make this game look absolutely stunning. I wish I had a rig to run something like that.
Am I the only one that laughed out loud when he said "winnie the pooh honey" XD
Using a 360 controller means movement is analogue. So I can walk or run as fast or slow as I like because I'm using a thumbstick instead of keys on a keyboard.
From the back the black wolf-skin cloak, i think, makes him look like a brother of the night's watch from game of thrones. Probably unintentional, but still cool!
37:20 that warrior has his eyes on the prize. Lol
You, Rycon Roleplays, And Gopher are the best Skyrim roleplayers
Nice to see a fellow imperial. Most people I know pick stormcloaks.
I think I am going to like this play through! : )
I find myself coming back to this series more often than not, probably since this is the series that introduced me to Skyrim back in 2014... Good times. Thanks for the hours of entertainment, Dave.
Loving this so much, you're without a doubt my favorite youtuber right now.
You are quite entertaining, hilarious even, and sound the proper Brit, all stuffy and stuck up about what kind of armor you're wearing while at the same time complaining that people will recognize you as a Legionnaire! Good work, keep it up, and can't wait to watch the rest.
Check the description. It's already installed.
"farkas, her eyes are up here" friggin priceless. I love it when hilarious things like that happen in these games. Kind of reminds me of oblivion where when you talk to somebody, any other npcs in the background would freeze in occasionally ridiculous positions, or their face would have a hilarious expression.
This series is the best Skyrim Lets Play of all time
He's probably a pretty ambivalent towards Khajit - they might be part of the dominion but they're so individualistic that means practically nothing. However he likely hates the Argonians as much as the Stormcloaks because they seceded from the Empire. Again though this isn't a racial thing - he just hates traitors, whatever their race may be.
I love to listen to this on the background while doing stuff, using this like I use ASMR videos! Thanks for these vids!
Doing stuff,i guess grinding something green, then rolling it...At least thats what i do while watching this
Great work on this one. Will be interesting to see him find out that he is so closely tied to nord mythos and culture one he will discover he is the Dragonborn.
I can imagine him panicking the first time he does a shout.
"Farkas, her eyes are up here." I was laughing so hard at that. I did not notice it at first, but then I saw that and couldn't stop laughing thanks for all that you do Jingles!
great lets play maybe the best skyrim one i have seen keep up the good work
I usually don't like let's plays but this is great
Horns on helmets would be the most debilitating thing in combat- An enemy could simply grab the horns and drag you to the ground, cutting your throat open in the process.
+Robert Raymond kinda depends on which way you`re draging thr helmets
Robert Raymond yeah. but then you'd be left with no helmet. also, most of the time, helmets were strapped on, i think.
Fun fact: Viking Horn Helmets are historically incorrect. They nasal helms without horns. (I learned that from my history teacher who loves to rant about historical inconsistencies)
+Will ackee Although some ritual and decorative helms had horns, which is where the myth that fight helms had them comes from
That is a cool mod for the perk system, I'm glad they got a mod that makes the skills more spread apart like that.
"Yes, Claudius that is in fact a chicken" dang I wish I'd found this Let's Play sooner
Yes! I've been looking forward for this LP for a while xD I didn't see this LP until now for some reason, must be the subscription thing messing up again...
I think I'm going to enjoy this lets play
This series is so amazing im subbed :D
No, Oblivion is monetized. Putting custom music into Skyrim however is a real pain in the arse, and to be honest I still really like Skyrim's music so I don't really mind.
I could totally see Claudius getting hooked on Skooma by accident 😂😂😂
I find it hilarious that you care so much that I have a different opinion.
Pretty sure “Milk Drinker” is slang for Baby/weakling
You know i just realized what might have happened with those dead bandits outside the hideout. You turned on frostfall which *may* have affected them if they were outside long enough. Maybe. It's just a theory of mine. (or the game really could've bugged out).
in my experience frostfall doesn't affect NPCs, does it?
+Black Wolf I don't think it does.
+Black Wolf i think it does, i turned it on before starting the helgen start using Alternate Start LAL and the horse thief just dropped out of the cart from what i think was exposure. At least i was getting exposure in the cart and theres no other reason he would die

This inspired me to keep playing skyrim and nice work
Can`t believe i watched almost a hour of gameplay...and i didn`t feel it passing.amazing skyrim mods :) i wish i could find a pack for em.Have a good one;)
Man only if i had a powerful enough computer. This is brilliant and RPing is awsome.
This is the best skyrim let’s play
Actually, the people of Skyrim quite likely empty all their waste into the river, wash their clothes in it etc. Drinking downstream from that would definitely have very adverse health effects.
I'm surprised Claudius had nothing to say about the local music after hearing Ragnar the Red toward the end.
The smooth controller camera is so nice.
not sure if its your MOD or the version of this game nearly 2 years ago ...BUT i do not have most of these at 11:00 and on to 12 : 20 but that could just be me (i should start playing Skyrim again)

;)
These mods are some madness, I like it.
Playing a moderately wealthy imperial citizen that prizes "being civilised" is only accentuated by your accent.
The howling soun in the background is an elk. I live in Colorado, we have lots of elk here.
Sounds like a common loon lol
Claudius seems like an Imperial snob, and i love that he is that way
I think the howling noise was supposed to be a loon(I think that's what it is called. The bird)
If you have a hair retexture, you should try to find a de-saturated version so the hair looks better with the Imaginator. Great series, btw!
37:43 did anyone else notice what farkas was staring at?
This is weirdly satisfying to watch.
"Bonafied Winny-the-poo honey!" -I cracked up so hard at that!
I prefer 3rd person because it allows me to distance myself from Claudius and treat him as a character rather than simply the avatar for my button-pressing. But each to his own.
Lmfao! at 37:00 Farkas is literally shoving is face into Aela's breast like he's trying to sniff it or something XD
8:20 A Loon - th-cam.com/video/DVFBUIGfcJk/w-d-xo.html
I understand what you mean, I just feel as in roleplays the point is to essentially be your character, but as you said each to his own. Besides, I'm not going to stop watching over such a minor detail. Keep it up.

I really wish they'd crafted more songs for the bards to sing in skyrim. Things like Ragnar the Red are just fabulous in making you feel immersed.
Hey Jingles, if you're still taking mod suggestions, here's a few that might be useful/interesting:
Bandolier - Bags and Pouches - lets you craft well... bags and pouches that you can equip and they increase your maximum carry weight
Read and Learn Speechcraft - most books in game give you a bit of speech XP
Warzones - Civil Unrest - adds random battles between factions in the world, quite awesome
Airship - Dev Aveza - as pimp as it is, I'd say install it just as a sight to be seen
I had Skyrim for Xbox since the release. Two months ago I bought it on summer sales for the Pc. It was the best decision ever.
Forgot to say it on the first episode, but just to register: I'm starting to watch this series today.
have you been watching the NEWS east cost is companing about the heat as well. what houses are built for and what type of AC makes all the diffrence. If you live in East Texas you should understand the problem if West Texas try 90's with high hummidity. Realy 86 but if the AC are not built to handle the temp. it is horable
I feel like by the end of this he's going to go really proper native
Damage should increase the closer the Longbow is just means that you get less shots over time, Damage increases due to force not dissipating over flight time. If they did really good on this mod it should also be the most long range bow for penetrating armour. Crossbow lots of power but short range. :)
Look at where vilkas is staring at 36:57😂
He addressed that in the prologue. Claudius fell asleep while on guard, and as a result the Stormcloaks were able to cross the boarder into Cyrodill and steal a nobel's horse.
Drinking the water at 18:36 gave Claudius restless leg syndrome XD
I was making a joke .-. Look at his leg
Lol, you didn't
He refuses to wear helmets with horns but he'll wear one with wings.
That's 30 degrees celsius dude. In England we don't use Fahrenheit.
Well thanks for answering with such haste. I'm very grateful.
you could say the fire and healing spell were part of his officers training in the legion.
Liking this RP so far...though I've noticed something. You seem to be playing mostly in 3rd person, and I was just wondering would it be possible you more so played in 1st person? It's not that I don't like it, I just think it would give a more immersive feel, seeing through the eyes of Claudius.
Gonna give my standard response and say "read more lore." The Thalmor are in actual fact very different from the Ayleids.
37:00 Aela: my eyes are up here!!!!! Pervert....
I bet all of you thought this, don't deny it.
i have done that with most of the good looking npc's
like i said in your oblivion videos nice job well done
Time to binge watch Claudius! :D
There actually is a mod that makes your muscles grow when you advance certain skills. It would really fit this LP. It's called Pumping Iron.
Damn, I really need to get a computer capable of running Skyrim. Some of these mods look so awesome.
If you have a PS4 or XB1, be prepared for October 28 2016 ;-) Skyrim Special Edition (Remastered) my good friend :-D
+BraceFace Mangaka 90% of the mods won't work. It's a similar engine to this, but it uses a slightly different scripting method, which in turn completely breaks any mods with scripting. The same, but different.
Because the graphics of those games are too old. They would need to remake them completely
We also go by Fahrenheit instead of Celsius. 30 degrees here is under freezing.
I love the lets play!
As far as your issues with Dxtory and Skyrim, I recommend you try out Mirillis Action to record. It's a much more basic program, but for me I got little to no frame drop while recording with it, no matter the game.
Wow, this guy is good at RolePlay
