Not boring at all when you share 2013 ARMY stories! Please share more! Interesting aside: my son was on his honeymoon in Italy earlier this summer and sent me a picture of a huge stack of paperback copies of Damien on sale in a bookstore in one of the cities there. He was so puzzled as to why so many copies of a novel that old. I think the publisher is still very appreciative to ARMYs.

Never mind time constraints, keep telling us all your recollections, please! You are giving context to the book, something precious that can only come from someone who actually lived through it. And please do consider doing a companion series about the fan's pov for all these happenings.
I've always admired how BTS don't talk down to their fans. They assume that the fans are intelligent and can research any subject they are interested in. Kudos to them for not treating fans like hysterical teen girls with cotton candy for brains.

I love these vids you make for every chapter of the book!
Thank you for your hard work and memories!
Personally I see Wings a little different - but than I was not there when it happened and have the benefit to know what happened after and what connects to it.
Blood, Sweat & Tears is about temptation but also about embracing it. We do need to embrace both to truly become us and grow up. I recently saw a good explained vid - I think the creator was "don't worry I'm not afraid" (maybe? it was a reaction vid to this vid so I'm not a 100% sure)
Jin by kissing the statue/V is beginning that journey of growing up: good and evil are too narrow a concept to describe what it truly is about - after all the members are not actually religious.
"Begin": actually JK was crying easily back than. He would cry when you just asked if he was crying. But he was also a little selfish/growing up and a bit hard to deal with which led to some explosions when the members could not deal with it anymore. Guilt is probably part of it. As much as growing up hurt I think JK was also aware that they sheltred him as much as they could and was thankful for it to some degree. It is a sign of their strong bond that JK discovered the members sharing their hurts hurt him far more than his own hurts/felt guilty because his hurts seemed smaller. That can happen when you do compare pain. We all know the stories of what the members did for him and so he was thankful but also beginning his own steps for individuation.
"Lie": you are absolutly right - it's an inner fight. Jimin's perfectionism was hurting him and had quiet a few downs - he thought too much about his failures, about mistakes and not being handsome enough. The past seemed easier but everything seems so when you hurt and wish you could change something. again: growing pains.
"Stigma" - what I found interesting was how Taehyung apologized to his siblings for the "dishonor" he brought/for being selfish maybe. It's tricky. Some Army felt this song had something to do with coming out as gay. IDK. It's rather enigmatic. It's actually quiet interesting that a month before the drop his grandmother died. But between both is not enough time for it to be part of it. Mind you being an Idol was probably not good for reputation and than was the fact that most Idols don't actually earn well or anything, too. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
"First Love" - I think the "brown piano" depicts Yoongi's real first love: music. Like in the BU his attraction to music and the frustration was not always an easy one. We do know that he lives and breathes music and that influences all his relationships. It's his artistic struggle.
"Reflection" is Namjoon reflecting on himself and he is a poet about it but also too much thinking. I believe the more intelligent a person is the higher the chance that their brain also attacks itself. We do know that he voiced his wish to love himself which also shows in which direction the music went afterwards: "The Love Yourself" era. I'm so thankfull for Brazilian Army to help him change the lyrics and help him on the way to healthy self-love.
"MAMA" is definetly Hoseok's songs. I think he did a song before but since that was not an album track... Jimin said pre-debut about him than Hobi had the aura of a mother. And so it is not that surprising that Hoseok reflects on his own and aknowledges what she gave him, what she added to his story. It's quiet beautiful. He is hope.
Mind you he is not the only one that helped with their emotional growth. I think Jimin played a role in that, too. So it is not surprising that till Hoseok moved out both were roommates in all of their dorms, even when the others put walls in to get their own seperate space. There are quiet a few clips about the other members taking emotional comfort from Jimin, too, even Jin. In fact there is quiet a bit of energy from the younger members to drive also the older members forward when they were exhausted.
"Awake": Jin is not the only one who began from zero - even as he was the most unsure one: JK was pretty much in BTS on a whim, not that sure that he wanted a musical career; he was tought to sing, rap and dance. Taehyung played the saxophone but had no training for anything else from my understanding. But both younger members developed in a way faster than Jin or it may at least looked that way to Jin. I mean with JK being called golden because upon debut he sang, danced and even rapped and Taehyung's voice also easily different and he was more confident it's not that tricky to see why. Which is why I can hear Jin's unsurity of his own value in his lyrics. He may "never fly" because he felt like he was surrounded by geniuses. But Jin went from the youngest in his own family to the oldest with a lot of responsibility for the other members. That he went into cooking is one of the ways he cared for them. But it is also in the lyrics: "Still, I hold the 6 flowers tightly in my hands" meaning he saw himself as the other members protector. And he still spoke about that he had to try at least, give his best in more ways than that or better said to keep up with them.
But yes, Wings was a big concept album with the BU also in the background and the shorts films while also depicting their real self and struggles.
Thank you again for doing this! I love what you bring to the table as someone who lived it!
    You nice! Keep going! 💜

Loving the book and your videos!!! BTS, just incredible, what else can be said, they are incredible. For people who don't like BTS, I feel (my opinion), they don't like them for superficial reasons. Their talent in dancing, singing, writing, producing, their work ethic to make their dreams come true, their humanity, gratitude and respect for the fan base, really I'm dumb founded as to why would anybody not like them. They bring you up, they challenge you, they help you.....INCREDIBLE!!! Them sharing their personal stories too along with their professional journey, in such a way that is not after sympathy but just how that part did help them become who they are, how they gained strength and compassion. Though they might have gone through hell because of some fandoms, they still extend a respectful and friendly handshake to the idols/artists of those fandoms. Thank you so much for sharing, truly, I tune in every time a new video comes out. Thank you.

I really cant remember an artist, except for a few writers, who make me feel things like BTS does, I experience a lot of emotions watching and listening to them. Sometimes I even feel embarrased to realize that I'm crying or laughing like crazy, while I listen a song or while I watch a run episode or a music video. Its overwhelming but is real.

This is sooo interesting! Why don't you have more followers? I think the only album that comes close to the conceptional narrative of Wings is Pink Floyd's The Wall, which is epic in its own right. Still, the artistry and hard work put into the performances of BTS is on another level.

Thank you so much for providing background history and your knowledge of BTS. As a music lover, I had actually stopped buying and listening to American radio and the music it produced. I no longer watched the award shows, followed the charts or knew what was trending and frankly didn’t care. BTS brought me back to being a consumer of quality music and poetry. I am always interested in the back story and your insight is very much appreciated. Keep up the wonderful work you are doing.

I love your channel so much! Your insights are priceless, and you present everything so clearly (I like an organized person 😁).
So, I'm 57, I kinda slow rolled into BTS back in 2017/18 when I would catch them on SNL, Jimmy Fallon, etc, & thinking how good they were & I should look them up... then life would happen & I'd forget.
Then Covid happened & while in lockdown & recovering from a pretty severe case of it myself, I discovered that TH-cam was for more than just DIY projects. BTS were virtual guests on Jimmy Fallon for a week & that was it. I was intrigued & had plenty of time on my hands for a few months to delve into them. (Sidenote - Funnily, I don't particularly care for pop or rap music, but here I am - I have learned to appreciate their versions of both... 😄). I discovered their lyrics & I was hooked. I've always been a bit of an intellectual, and I love the complexity & interweaving of their concepts... then I began reading the comment sections on some of the songs (B,S,&T & Spring Day in particular) and they were like master classes in philosophy. Everyone adding to the dialogue. It was a beautiful ray of sunshine & brain stimulation at a time when all I could do is cough & sleep. It seems the comment sections in the past few years have gotten... redundant. I miss those respectful, thought-provoking interactions everyone used to have. I learned so much!
Anyway, sorry to ramble. I thank you from the bottom of my 💜 for your channel & the way you bring that spirit back. My wishes for your good health, success, & happiness 🙏💜

I know to cram so much information and analysis in one video can be hard, but I would love to know more about Jin's journey because as you said he did a freaking mic drop 😅, but on a serious note, I think his "mic drop" (like the journeys of his other brothers, Jimin for example) was pivotal for the Love Yourself era and even for Map of the Soul and I would love to know how that was constructed betwen the members and the producers.

Please add another vid about your experiences as a 2013/2014 Army, promise? I found the comment about Kcon in 2014 very enlightening, particularly the reasons why (black) American fans liked them. I assume we are talking about a time when only the school trilogy and Dark and Wild were released. I belong to those who like their critical/political lyrics best. Thanks for this vid.

I am eager to hear every single detail and I like long videos about BTS! Longer is better. I am in America and due to the BTS suppression I never knew about them until this month and I am spending so many hours all day long sorting through the vast Universe of BTS. It feels like a puzzle that I am not able to complete without the help of the Armies who have been there all along. Help!! 😅. I wait eagerly for your vids! Question: Is this all from an album called “Wings”? I want to find Jin and Jhope’s solo songs you referred yo but don’t know the song names 😢 Borahae 💜💜💜

It is one album "Wings" plus a repackaged album "You Never Walk Alone". There are videos and a book and other material that added to the whole experience. I'd recommend listening to the album and reading lyrics' translations and then watching the videos and maybe seeking out some explain YT videos. There is so much symbolism, art, literary references and psychology involved! Plus the live performances are so fun!

Thank you for doing the videos on BTS it was good but BTS is 7. You seem to give a lot of time on only 6 members and left out JHope. You didn’t give JHope the same treatment as others. Not as many pictures and just fast talk over his story as if it’s an afterthought.
