@@michaelheppe218 I’m not a fan of Ross myself, but I personally don’t want everything bad happening to him 24/7, when something does happen, I like the feeling of “I told you so” come over me because more often then not, the bad things are consequences of his actions and wouldn’t have happened if he used his head to think before acting

@@HilbertXVI Nah Emily was even more controlling than Ross. She knew that not seeing Rachel was impossible unless Ross doesn’t see ALL his friends. He’s gonna move away so Ross being Monica’s brother doesn’t push Rachel away but Ross himself. She’s making him isolated from everybody. However, watching episodes through the series, if you sit down with Rachel and talk about it seriously, she eventually understands. Rachel was a bitch wanting Ross every time he gets into any relationship tho but that’s two different situations

That message got deleted by mistake, Rachel was arguing with Monica not to delete it. And after that Rachel herself told Ross about Emily's message.

The difference is that Rachel deleted it by accident, felt terrible about it, and then literally waited for Ross to get home to tell him that Emily left a message. Meanwhile, Ross twice (once in the earlier seasons and another time after they had a baby) completely hid from Rachel the fact that guys called her.

Monica calling someone else neurotic is ironic. None of them gave Emily a chance to be nice. They’ve been disrespectful to her since the wedding. And Emily blaming Rachel was stupid. The only one to blame was Ross. It was obvious he was still hung up on Rachel otherwise who the hell says the wrong name?! It must’ve been so embarrassing and devastating for her to be disrespected at her own wedding in front of all her friends and family. Man, Ross was so toxic!

I mean emily is right about ross not seeing rachael as she is his ex or am I the crazy one?
I mean she is right to some degree, but that is also one of his best friends. Plus him not seeing her kind of ruins the whole group of friends. So, ross and emily could have come to some kind of compromise. Unfortunately, emily became crazy about it and didn't trust ross, so it was never gonna work out if she did not learn to trust him.
I do not blame Emily at all in this whole Ross and Rachel complication. That's the only thing she could've done while living in a different continent, knowing Ross is constantly in touch with his ex who's name he took at his and Emily's wedding. She was right to doubt him and not to trust him. But there wasn't much she could've done here, living far apart. The best thing is to not see him again ever but we humans often act desperate.

I really liked Emily and rooted for them, but she changed for the worst. And yes, I get it, Ross said Rachel’s name which is extremely humiliating, but her demanding him to NEVER be around Rachel (even tho all his friends are with her), made him sell all his stuff, made him MOVE OUT of his own apartment and nearly be homeless, all for Emily to just to end things regardless bc “she couldn’t trust Ross” I hate how the writers always turned characters into asshats when they realize said character was about to be written off.
Yes, exactly. Emily was a nice character at first, and Ross did 100% do her dirty by saying the wrong name AND inviting Rachel to go with him on his honeymoon. However, the way Emily went about trying to "fix" things afterwards borders on abusive behavior (controlling, trying to isolate him from his friends). It's understandable why she didn't trust Ross, but it was absolutely the wrong way to go about it. But I suppose the writers needed a way to end the marriage that didn't make Ross look like a complete jerk, so they made Emily worse.

Can see why Rachel hated to hear her voice. I was not for Emily either she was mean to Rachel wanted Ross not to see her anymore to make there marriage work very demanding
Not to see Rachel anymore, get over her, would be the best thing that could happen to Ross but he was too blind to see that. When I was a kid, probably I'd like Rachel because she's so funny. Now I see things differently, I see how serious it is what Ross did at the wedding and how selfish Rachel is, especially about Ross. Not to see anymore someone like that is one the best things that might happen to someone. And ending up with someone like Emily, who was really good and supportive to Ross and they had so much in common, kind of intellectual match (no way he would go with Rachel to the museum because she wouldn't understand any of this), it would be perfect ending. But it was decided to continue his relation with a spoiled, selfish princess. Some people say how much she changed after her daughter was born. Well, I see real change only in the last episode when she decided not to go to Paris and stay with Ross.
But before that? She took her newborn daughter to work and left her with a guy she just met to make a presentation. She didn't know anything about him. She gave her phone number to random dudes in the bar. When Ross deleted that message she got mad but later she told Ross not to date anyone. So Ross didn't but giving her phone number to other guy meantime is fine. Really great.
After that fight with Ross she moved into Joey's place again. Really? He was still in love with her and she didn't even think how much mess she could make in his life again. Like with Ross when he was with Emily.
When she decided to go to Paris, she didn't talk to Ross about it and they had a baby together.
So where is that big change and maturity becasue I don't see too much of it.

In all honesty, the fact that Emily was mad at Rachel and not purely at Ross just goes to show that a lot of people would forgive their partners of anything and just hate on the person who so say "sabotaged" the relationship.

To be fair, they weren’t in on the context, to them it was the most random thing somebody could do, if it were me, I’d definitely find it funny IN THE MOMENT, and then start asking questions
Generally, Ross's knowledge, stories, feelings and being a father is not recognized or appreciated by his friends, wives and ex-wives. They made fun of him for being sensitive and nerdy. In my opinion, Ross is a great guy who unfortunately is not wise at making decisions on what kind of women he should be with.
This is one of the only times Rachel isn't selfish and actually tries to do the best for Ross

I grew up watching the DVDs of Friends and have noticed that on the Blu-Rays as well as HBO Max, they edit it down and take out some hilarious scenes that I enjoyed on the DVD's. For example in this scene, after Rachel deletes the message, she tries to recreate the message in a British accent saying, "Hello, Ross. This is Rachel...EMILY! My God, what is it with those two names?!" They should've kept that line in. :(
Yes! Unfortunately, when they remastered and adapted the entire series from the original films to 1080p video, they did stick to the syndicated (reduced) version. And the remastered version is the one we see in all Full HD streaming services today.

They didn't take anything out or edited down. The Blu-ray and streaming versions are the ORIGINAL version, exactly how it was originally first aired on TV. What's on the DVD are added EXTRAS, they added more stuff specifically for the DVD. When people say edited down and take out, that means they cut some scenes out from the original which is not the case here.
@@IndigoIndustrial It's not at all like George Lucas. In the case of Star Wars, Lucas refused to release the theatrical versions of the original trilogy. That's not the case with Friends because what we get on Blu-ray and streaming is the original broadcast version. It's the equivalent to the theatrical release. What you have on DVD is an extended version, not the original version. Star Wars fans want the original version whilst Friends fans want the extended version.
