Akita's like using there 2 front paws alot when fighting along with there mouth as well and they have such a high pain tolerence. A game APBT in its own weight class of 40-60lbs is the best in that division but that is why they don't pit 100+lb Akita vs APBT weight classes are there for a reason My cousin had a Cane Corso that he always thought was the top dog until I bought my all white male Akita over to play with his, by the end of the day my Akita was humping his dog

Love it. I have a pit-bull and an Akita. Never fought but my pit is super passive and my Akita actually follows him and gives way, as long as he leave’s what’s hers alone. And yes Akita’s don’t usually lose, unless the size difference is to much. The Akita is my favorite breed!!
I dislike Akitas because of the comments. If I fought one, considering all odds, there'd probably be lots of scarring, but adrenaline would remove the pain, and if you want to stop a dog bite, just shove your hand down the throat, wow so easy.

Clearly calling the Akita off and setting boundaries, but I think a simple recall would not work as the Akita is much more driven to continue engaging the other dog. Would a verbal correction be of any use or do you go in to pull the Akita away and have it sit and calm down a bit? I am looking to get an Akita in when we have a house built (so still 1-2 years time to do research) and I want to learn and prepare myself as much as possible to raise a calm companion as much as possible. I think such encounters with other dog will inevitably happen down the road, so what is the best coarse of correction?
Well my boy is pretty calm Akita’s are very lethal dogs tho the pitbull in this video got attacked by a 140lb female Akita 3 years ago almost killed her with Akita’s you have to be very dominant and assertive these aren’t your typical Labradors or German shepherds their thinking capacity is unbeatable in my opinion definitely not a breed for everyone as far as corrections go just be firm dominant and assertive Akita’s respond best to positive training.

He has been to a puppy school , introduced to many dogs of different age and size but regardless , he charged every time. He is not out for killing but needs to correct them in a very harsh way. Despite my experience with many breeds before , no training has helped them.My dog can never be of the leash. So it is not the typical dog you can bring to a dog park or a beach to et him play safely with other dogs. Definately not for everyone . Saying that doesn t mean that nó Akita can be trained but dont cóunt on their obedience when they are triggered. The most scary thing about mine is that he tries often fool other who come towards him by pretending as if he wants to play untill they are too close. I love my dog to the dead but I know very well that he can not to be trusted around any animal except the birds. Somehow he always tries to avoid them. So if you plan on getting one and expect the same behaviur as an average big dog , get a belgian or dutch shepperd . They can be easily trained on obedience and socialization.
Qhave no clue what breed my dog is but he appears to a boxer / pitbull/ dogo argentino mix, which could be up to 500 psi. (YES, I'm pretty sure he's at least partially a dogo argentino down to his facial structure, the fact he's all white, he weighs dramatically more than a pit bull, and he doesn't even look like a pitbull)

The American Pitbulls won both of the battles. In the first one, the akita ran away. In the second one, the American Pitbull had to be pried off of the akita. Yes, American Pitbulls are smaller than akitas, but those that know the breed know that does not matter. No matter the size, they are usually very strong and very tough physically and mentally. They were bred for taking on other animals, many larger and stronger than dogs. Bulls, bears, and wild boar are three animals American Pitbulls were historically bred to take on for things like hunting, farm work, and combat sporst like bull baiting, bear baiting, and wild boar baiting. TH-cam has many videos of them being used for wild boar hunting and wild boar baiting where they can be seen taking on and controlling wild boar one on one. They are very common and popular dogs for those things.

This is why it’s best to have an older dog who’s bigger, in my opinion. That way the older dog can teach the pup when to back off.

Dude akita Inus are way smaller than american ones. Second a real american akita NOT from a backyard breeder would handle ANY pitbull and ive seen multiple videos even on TH-cam where an American akita easily handle an aggressive pitbull.
