    I personally sprayed plasti dip on the foam after I cut out all my pieces I needed. It really made the foam very durable and kept it from tearing in the thin spots. I recommend a few layers of plasti dip.

    I have been using the pelican air 1535 since it first came out. The 1535 is the same size as the one you have here but more lightweight. I travel frequently for work and this is the best case ever!

    The Pelican 1510 is phenomenal. I have one for all my wireless microphone transmitters where I work, and it keeps them secure at all times. Although I don't need to take the case on trips or anything of that sort, I would not worry if it were dropped. I'm also looking at acquiring another one to store some sound studio gear in the near future, so it's certainly a fantastic case for the money. You get what you pay for, and this gets you a lot.

    Pelicans are awesome, many of them float (even while loaded with gear). I have seen tests with the things being thrown out of helicopters and the case floats at the surface with the gear inside dry and protected.

    Been using a pelican case to transport my firearms for more than 30 years back and forth across the country. Used a pelican attache style to transport a laptop overseas too in rather hostile environs with no problems. They make tough cases for all needs. Good choice.

    I collect high end borosilicate glass (yes, bongs), some valued at a few thousand dollars. Pelicans are the only things I'll trust for safe keeping. Very worth the money for valuables. Have shipped many cross-country and never had a single problem. Very, very worth it

    I keep a 17" Gaming laptop in a P 1495. It has gone thru hell. Laptop works fine. I literally am dragging it around the oil patch in Alberta Canada. Back roads, logging roads. The case is getting kinda scratched up but I don't care. As long as the insides stay safe and dry.

    I have been using Pelican cases for years and they are about as indestructible as you can get. Yes, expensive, but when shipping or transporting $$$$$ items, they are worth every penny. (NOTE: Most shipping labels will NOT stick to these cases, but both UPS and FedEx have what they call "flying" or "luggage" tags that will wrap around the handle, that shipping labels can be attached to.)

  • @FarrellMcGovern
    @FarrellMcGovern 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Pelican Cases are the best for travel-ling with any type of sensitive equipment! There are other cases out there, but they are more expensive, are metal and weight a ton, etc. Pelican is best for price/weight/quality hands down!

  • @MrSwosh89
    @MrSwosh89 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    It seems to me that you went out of your way and made an unusual product review because you genuinely loved the build quality of it.
    I am getting one this week, I am honestly simply going to use it as a travel carry on luggage, I don't really pack much stuff when i travel so the size it's perfect for me, it helps me skip the annoying baggage retrieval ritual and if for whatever reason I have to check it in, I am gonna be sure MY luggage it's going to do the bashing, not receiving it :P
    Given you had this for a while, are there any useful mods/tips that a more frequent user might now?

  • @UnfocusedRacing
    @UnfocusedRacing 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    It's called pluck foam. It's very nice since it's precut. You just pluck it apart. I have a rifle case that uses the same type of foam. Pretty nice.

  • @jmedlock95

    greg, i use Pelican cases exclusively for luggage. i have two larger Storm cases for my checked baggage, and a 1510 for my carry on. while they are substantially heavier and cost more in baggage fees, my company reimburses my baggage fees and i usually only fly for work. the durability means ill never buy luggage twice a year again. actually it means ill never buy luggage again period!

    People focus on size for carry-on, but don't forget weight: there's a 20-lb. limit for the overhead compartment. The 1510 has an empty weight of 14.4 lbs.

    Pelican is the shit. I use them for expensive bong collection. You can put glass in these and drop that shit from a 4 story building and it won't break what's inside or the case.

  • @josephgood2704
    @josephgood2704 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think you mean 'personal item' not 'carry on'. Because many airplanes dont even allow carry on. But you can always have a 'personal item'. Carry ons can be pretty massive. I have a bag with over 55l of space and carry it on always. It's about 50% taller and 75% thicker... never even had it questioned carrying it on

    • @josephgood2704
      @josephgood2704 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe with a few airlines... If i was carrying that by hand with an actual backpack on my back united, delta, frontier, spirit, and several others would consider this a personal item and a possibly much larger bag as their carry on...
      Last trip I had a large nintendo switch bag with a switch, dock, 2 part portable case, external power bank, 8 games in a slot, a pro controller with 4 joycons along with 2 controllers for them, a 4 slot charger for said joycons, a type c cable for my pro controller, and the power cord for the dock as my personal item.. and like I said a much much much larger bag as a carry on. it had a helios 300, xbox one x, wowoto h9 projector and carrying case, 3 xbox controllers, 2 games, and 2 weeks of clothes a solar panel charger, a 25,000 mah external power bank, several cables, several adapters and honestly there was space for more.... i can link the backpack i'm talking about if youd like but it's also carry on and its WAY bigger than this.. With further investigation i fit 2 more power banks, a neck pillow, my wireless keyboard and mouse both in cases, as well as 4 packs of cigs, 2 more sets of clothes, and my bose q35 headset case in it with room to spare... and it still would be fine for carry on
      This is a great case for very expensive cameras... pretty much nothing else.

    no point... the case weight 6.5kg, you only have 7 to 10kg carry-on weight limits from most airlines.

      i mean... LEGALLY you CAN do it, but of course it has to be luggage and has to have a lock separate of TSA locks, but with all technicality you can carry a firearm -- i would watch a couple of videos about the topic if you plan on taking a firearm to another state or on a flight, great to know at the very least
