As a little English kid I worshipped big Dev. He was a God in my eyes. I didn't care that he dropped catches or wasn't the greatest at batting or anything. I loved his bowling pace and loose style.
I'd watch the cricket and then go spend hours bowling as fast as I possibly could at the spring stumps 🤣
    Thanks Dev

And ironically, the only South African batsman that remained not out after Devon's spell of bowling? Fanie de Villiers - the very man who had sparked Devon's wrath.

How the hell could England not get the best out of a bowler who’s capable of that.

In all fairness, Macolm wasn't the most accurate or consistent of bowlers. And nor was he the wiliest/most thinking of bowlers.

The ball he bowled to Craig Matthews at 1:32 is one of the nastiest I ever saw. And a brilliant catch by keeper Steve Rhodes.
You could tell when Devon was in a good place, he glided to the wicket, on other days he looked like he was over-striding or labouring. If I had to face him…there’d be the mother of all skid marks in my shreddies…
