@@TheMtVernonKid to me the only two things that they messed up on was not havin DMX back, and changing Joe Budden’s design cause the hooded look from Vendetta was so dope
@zyouri121 if they do come out with a modern def jam video game I hope and pray that it'll be way more better than the last one because that one sucked for real.
8:17 fun fact: My cousin Dominic Kirkland used to met DMX in person when he & hugging & say "What's Up Shorty" to her, according to my cousin Dominic's Facebook post about his passing. Rest in power, DMX. 🙏🏿😔🙏🏿
Hilarious fact: 6:23 This part of Joe Budden's move is the Stone Cold Stunner and the ending is inspired by the way The Rock sold it every time he was hit with it.
man this was my fav game when it first came out when hip pop was super great to listen to and when they got music artist to be apart of this game doing their voices for their characters was super cool and to this day we never had another game like this and that's to bad because this game was so much fun and loved the story career mode they did lol
It's interesting how some of the characters just changed their costumes in FFNY, lets remember that the secod game just take place at the end of Vendetta XD
Don't remind me I'm still salty over the fact that I let a guy borrow mine, and he somehow managed to break the disk. Literally one of the first games I ever got with my PS2 and it's gone because a guy I thought was trustworthy used the disk like a Frisbee or something....
Vendetta came out 1st. FFNY was the sequel. You'll also see alot of moves repeated, and some caaters that didn't make it into the sequel. Vendetta alo had more of a wrestling combat system, you can either KO them or even pin them to get the win.
Ah man this game takes me back lol. Me and my brother would play the crap out of this game. Hell it was one of the few games we've rented it multiple times lol. My mains were Method Man and DMX, his were Redman and Ludacris. This and Fight For New York I feel need to be Remastered at some point. They're just fun and over the top.
I have this feeling that Ruffneck has been a huge reference towards American History X. He even look like Edward Nortan's character too. Even his finishing moves is a direct reference to how he curb stomp a guy's mouth on the side walk.
If they had a Modern Def Jam that would be awesome. Cause the last one was SO BAD. Also FUN FACT Def Jam Vendetta in Japan had 2 exclusive characters who were Japanese rappers, the ones you saw, Dabo & S-Word.
This brought back memories. My cousins owned this game back in the day. I don't remember there being this many characters but I definitely remember the brutality.
The development of this game is interesting. Originally the game was gonna be a sequel to WCW Mayhem. But when WWF/WWE bought WCW the game was scrapped by WWF/WWE. It then turned into an original wrestling game called Midnight Wrestling but nothing came from it. But then an idea was thrown that the game can be set in urban culture and someone on the development team said they knew some people at Def Jam Records. And the game only had about 8 months to be put on store shelves. And so Def Jam Vendetta was born.
Def Jam Vendetta was my all-time favorite to play on a PS2 Version it was tremendously real cool to play it with all those Blazin!! To use it winning match after match it's kind of like the version of WWE in a way too
I have a suggestion video you could react to, considering that Aki the developers of the def jam series also made wrestling games for the n64, so I would be interested if you could react to either wwf wrestlemania 2000 or wwf no mercy all finishers for fight night friday.
8:20 Fun Fact: DMX said in an interview that the reason he wasn't in Def Jam FFNY is because they wanted to give him a $25,000 advanced loan and only give him 2 cents off of every game they sell. He figured by them selling the game for $50 across the nation, ain't no way that 2 cents of percentages of the games they sell, should be his amount (and he was right considering where he was in his career at the time). So they replaced him with Sticky Fingaz as well who was another Def Jam artist from Onyx. No disrespect to Sticky but that definitely should have been DMX part and his character in the story mode was the most challenging. I miss DMX man, rest in peace to the D.O.G (Da Original Goat)🌹🌹🌹💐✝️🙌🏾
@@TheNext-corp25yeah but it should have been Sticky Fingaz position, it makes more sense. I know Teck had DMX same abilities and it was in the junkyard, but I got a feeling the story would have been a little different if X did take the role.
God playing this game when i was like 10 was crazy fun but the girls bascially u started out with one and if u keep her she sends u more and more pics in lingerie but its the irl girl shes modeled after in it and in the story each major boss u beat a new girl shows up and u have to pick which one to date and then they fight lol
16:48 D-mob is voiced by Christopher Judge, which also voices kratos in god of war. His voice is epic!
Teal'c : I play Def Jam Vendetta.
its kevin michael richardson actually
WOAH I NEVER KNEW THAT😨😨😨
Vendetta is the first game. Fight For NY is the sequel.

Thanks for the correction 🙂
I need a modern Def Jam so I can beat Drake with Kendrick over and over again
😂
Cant picture rappers in skinny jeans and baby tees fighting tho. Especially since theyre the ones quick to pull out their weapons instead of fists 😂
@@RAMIR3Z0 have you seen how everyone's back with the baggy jeans treand now?

@zyouri121 if they do come out with a modern def jam video game I hope and pray that it'll be way more better than the last one because that one sucked for real.
17:27 That’s because this game is rated T while Fight For NY is Rated M.

Even though we’ll never see another Def Jam game in a million years, it’s still a classic “Ruffneck” wrestling game of its time

Its a shame we cannot have a game like this anymore.
This game would be a legal nightmare to get the rights to get many things in game.😅
Fun fact DMob is voiced by Christopher Judge who is the current voice of Kratos from God of War 2018 and Ragnarok 😊
Nice 😁
Def jam vendetta is the first game before fight for ny. Vendetta was silly game but silly in fun way.
😎👍😀
Ugh remember that. That game was a banger back then, and now it is super rare/expensive to get a phsical copy for your old PS2

There is a Japanese version of Def Jam Vendetta that features S-Word and Dabo Why the 2 Rappers are from Japan

Def Jam is amazing! Check out the people who were signed to Def Jam throughout the years.

you should do a reaction to DEF JAM Fight for NEW YORK story cutscenes if you guys haven't already done it. would be cool
We haven’t yet. Didn’t even know it had a story mode. Probably was told that on our last video of this a couple years back but have forgotten 🤗

The Def Jam series is so Underrated and it deserves a Resurgence via a New Game.

And some of the blazins you see here are recycled into the second game.
