- The Maruti 800 was launched in 1983 in Standard and Deluxe variants and it was actually known as the Suzuki Alto in the international market with the chassis code SS80 with F8B 3 cylinder 796cc carburetor engine . The first car was delivered by Indira Gandhi to Harpal Singh in Delhi having the registration number DIA 6479. Here is a similar model, a 1984 Maruti Suzuki 800 DX on its original paint and was a single owner car which was picked up by the current owner in 2012 in the city of Nasik, Maharashtra. Apart from the stereo, the car is fully original and one amazing benchmark on originality.
Upto 1987, the Marutis sold in India had all the parts which were made in Japan apart from the tyres and the battery. These early Maruti models with Japanese parts had exceptional quality the cars which have gone through routine maintenance still work flawlessly well.

This is really cool. I wanna own one but it's so hard to get. The old retro style design easily beats the new version.
I thought only I have got the car with the originality. But the one in the video is way too good.
I have a AC model DLX of 1985 in white color. It has a superb engine.
Its still the most cheapest and good car in our Pakistan as well. Good keeping bro ❤️❤️👍👍
Saurabh,
Thanks for the video. This is my Mama's car (original owner) - Dr. Tembe. Lot of my most cherished memories of my childhood are associated with this car.
Thanks for the video..
Yes, my Mama treated this car as though it was Mona Lisa's painting.. I am happy that it is in the hands of collector and someone's who truly understands car..
Thnx again
I had sent this video to Dr.Tembe, I wish he sees the video as iam waiting for his valuable comment
Thank you so much
Please do share some of your memories with the car
Kiran Vaidya,
Glad that you watched the video. For few people it's just a Maruti, for some people it's a Japanese collectible, and for the remaining, it's all about joyful memories.
@@Vinaykumar-xb4vv yes, he has watched it. He is the one who sent it on our whatsapp group
@@Vinaykumar-xb4vv one of the most distinct memory is that he once let me sit on drivers seat in his lap.. Of course he was in full control of steering and accelerators /brake /clutch... But i was not even a teenager and back in early 90s maybe it was biiiig deal.. If you remember we kids were not even allowed to touch tv remote 😂..
Having said that.. He cared about the car like a guard who watches over empire's treasure... The only time he was strict with me was regarding the car.. Otherwise he pampered me always. We used to go to gangapur dam etc.. Places around nashik.. Back in those days AC cars were like maybach.. And people used to check who is sitting inside the car at signal. As a kid I used to feel like a VVIP..
That car means even a today a lot to my Mama, I am sure..
Maruti 800 1984 model cars are in my mind forever

Yes. Scrappage policy is not implemented yet. But yes, the renewal fees will become expensive. Scrapping - I don't think it will get implemented.
Go ahead and live your dream. Enjoy the cars today!
The best colour of SS 80 yet
You're one lucky guy, brother. Such a pristine example!
Please review the Jimny SJ40/410 based Maruti Gypsy 1985 model, the third vehicle to be launched by Maruti after 800 and Maruti van
If we get one, we surely will!
I learned how to drive in a Maruti SS80 bodied 800, fitted with a Daihatsu diesel engine.
Amazing video Bro...Hope one day I can visit you home and see the car In person !
Where is the AC switch and cool - hot setting switch in ss80. Coz I have seen only blower switch and blower adjustment switches when I observe interior of ss80
Where did you manage to get original tail light I need s 308 b tail light of Japan made. Is it possible to get one
You'll have to import it from Japan or you'll have to find it on cars already having them. Or sometimes you can find them in old shops.
Is there anyone who import parts, or in which site is it possible

Never paint this car please
Pardon but...WIL- Wheels India Limited
Absolutely right. But I think WIL was incorporated in 2017. So I'm a bit unclear that how did 1984 car get WIL wheels.
@@WeekendAutomotive interesting!
@@WeekendAutomotive hope this helps😊 th-cam.com/video/2g0-u5gy3g8/w-d-xo.html
WIL is a part number
@@Vinaykumar-xb4vv Sir, WIL is not a part number AFAIK.wheels india belongs to my state and is aTVS group company incorporated in 1960.Actually the INDIAN parts in the SS80 were wheel rims ,tyres and battery. Also the original seats in deluxe models were leather and red color cars had beige color upholstery.I am not an SS80 expert but if you google it you can get lot of genuine information from forums like TBHP
I want this model car plese send message mi
