Announcer, "Was you scared going in there (to the prison)?" Eddie, "I wasn't scared. I knew a lot of the guys in there and I didn't commit no crime, so I knew I was getting out."
LOL You gotta love Eddie. He always keeps it real.

After watching the James Scott documentary, I wonder is Wesley Snipes" character, "Monroe Hutchen" in the prison boxing movie, "Undisputed," loosely based on Scott's life. #CATO

FWIW: James Scott was a main event fighter for Angelo Dundee' brother in Miami Beach, Florida before going to prison. He had murdered a man during a armed robbery gone awry.

Which was insane becasue he was lined up to get a shot at John Conteh.

Scott for all his menace was not A big puncher he would not have been able to beat Franklin or Spinks

Probably true. I also think Eddie would have beaten him in a rematch.

Your probably right but Scott vs Franklin would have been a good fight seeing what Dwight Braxton did to Franklin after Scott . I think Scott could have beat Conteh , Galindez , Rossman and Johnson though

Just watched Braxton vs Scott and Braxton vs Franklin back to back which was only 3 months apart . I now change my mind at this time frame Scott would have beat Franklin

Mustafa made an excellent point when he said all he had to do was train. He was always in top condition but still couldn’t knock top ranked fighters out. I agree with you that Spinks and Saad both would have beaten him and both probably inside the distance. No disrespect at all because he was a good fighter he just didn’t have the power to beat those guys.

Eddie was a good fighter but very lazy when it was time to train, always had weight issues,in fact he was 177.5 for the Scott fight.and than in the biggest fight in his career against Michael Spinks he had to lose 28 lbs.in 7 weeks for that bought (a loss) in another lazy effort in which he got dropped and lost his WBA belt in a 15 round decision. Although losing to mike Spinks at 175 was no shame at all he might have given himself a better chance had he trained properly.
