Excellent effect Brother!!!! The plastic cutting board REALLY gives it depth and if you want solitary icicles it looks like you could cut them out and hot glue them down:)!!! Love your work Buddy!!!!!!
Every time I see one of these "secret ingredients" in your vids, I go hit the dollar store and find that exact item! They still had those translucent cutting boards. Thank God for Dollar Tree. And for DM Scotty!!!
Another thing you might like to try is dropping molten white candle wax onto the underside of the plastic before gluing it to the base. It'll look like air bubbles under the ice.
Making some more age of sigmar tiles, working on a snow covered landscape, this realy helps. Always...truly Always, i am going back to your older videos for inspiration, thank you again for all your efforts you brought to our crafting community Dm Scotty!
I wonder if that plastic is available in other transparent colors? For instance, if you could find a blue one, you might be able to do an interesting pond piece with underwater foliage and everything.
Perfect timing, Scotty. Needed something to fill in cracks and voids and didn't want to use hot glue. Just ordered the Paste with your link - thank you!
I watched this when it first was posted. Cool project! What I really wanted to add is these cutting mats are great for actual cutting mats for someone just starting to craft . You can cut on these , acrylic paints are easy to clean off with rubbing alcohol, hot glue just peels off, gel mediums easily clean off. I will use one of these mats sometimes when I am not sure how a new product or tool will effect my more expensive craft and/or cutting mats. I would use both mats layered if cutting on Grandma's antique table until becoming familiar with how they hold up. Again the focus being for someone new to crafting.
Awesome Scotty, as always :) Ohio? Greetings from Buffalo NY!! So cold here as well and these will make for a great Quest here in the cold lol And if you haven't joined the the guild, come join us, It's awesome here!!
I use that same cutting boards for a while now, it doesn't always stick good with hot glue you can sand it down n it works better. Thanks for a new idea to use them for. 😊
I know ur a d&d terrain magician and U've done an Alien theme before, would you consider doing a few Star Wars theme items for the upcoming Star Wars Legions game. I'd enjoy seeing what your take on it is.
Nicely Done Scotty.

More scatter terrain, please! Pretty please?!
In the works.
Great idea. I am sure there are a bunch of uses for those cutting mats. Got my mind going for sure.
glad to hear that...have fun!
That is a fantastic way to use a cheap cutting board.

Very creative Dude !! Awesome end result. So glad I found this channel.

Glad to have you here.
Very nice! Looks like real ice. Thanks for sharing this.
Great craft Scotty!
It kind of reminds me of my grandmothers divinity. Or maybe some kind of cookies and cream. Or.... Maybe I'm just hungry.
Great work Scotty 2 hotty!
LOL
Awesomeness. Love the ice!
Can you make a river like this?
You sure could. I would make sections that could be strung together.
Very nice!

Where do you get your construction sand?
It is "standard Sand", I pick it up at home improvement stores.
Class dissmissed boys and ghouls!
These look absolutely stunning! The ice effect on the plastic film looks so good!

AWESOME! Eager to try out that paper towel + TP method you're so keen on. What a great alternative to fussy clay.
I agree, and very sturdy.
are scotty's glasses looking like card board intentionally?
For me to know...wink
Ohio! Awesome! Didn't know you were a Buckeye! Subscribed to you from the Canton/Akron area.
Cool, I am a Daytonian.
Awesome video Scotty. Now you need to craft tiny skates for Roderick.
I built some Swamps a while ago using a similar technique but using business shirt box plastic for the water effect.
Awsome video Dm Scotty, going to make some soon :)
Very interesting. How about how can you do a broken frozen pool?
fun idea.
Those chopping mats are an awesome effect
rodcrick "I don't wanna be a rodicile"
Awesome video! Just like always!!
I use paper towels with out texture on it. It seems to work well. I can add the texture I want or leave it.
Solid as always brother

VikingFyre i was about to ask the same its like the segments overlapped for a half second
Playing with a new mike...sorry about the issue.
TheDMsCraft no worries, it’s only noticeable in the first couple minutes. Growing pains with new equipment is always an unforeseen issue
