#GaryHabermas #DavidWood #Jesus #ShroudofTurin #Resurrection David Wood asks Gary Habermas whether he thinks the Shroud of Turin is a photograph of Jesus rising from the dead.
This shroud of Turin has no affect on my faith whatsoever, whether it's real or not. However the night that I was praying alone in my bed, with tears flowing, and I finally surrendered my life over to God and I experienced the Holy Spirit, with the greatest joy, fill my soul just over 51 years ago, now that is something that affected my faith forever that no one can take away. Thank you Jesus!!!
Your experience is good for you. The facts of Jesus' life, death and resurrection are good for all humanity. Sorry such evidence, that helps others, "has no affect on you whatsoever."
@@gregrice1354 I am in total agreement with you that Jesus' life, death and resurrection are good for all humanity. It is the message of Jesus' life, death and resurrection that bring all people groups of the world to God. The reason we know this is based upon the testimony of the Apostles' account and the other original eyewitnesses that have been passed down through the last 1900+ years. That's the point, our faith is based upon the eyewitness' account, not upon some cloth material that may or may not be the actual shroud that Jesus' body was wrapped in. If you will recall in 2 Kings 18 that King Hezekiah destroyed the bronze serpent that Moses built so when the Israelites looked upon it they healed from the serpent's bite. The people of Israel were making offerings to the bronze serpent, which they had turned into an idol. King Hezekiah did what was right in the eyes of the Lord. We can only imagine if the Arc of the Covenant was found what people would be doing today. God's moral law, the Ten Commandments, still apply to us today and our human tendencies are ready to bow before images we believe to be holy.
This verse proves it is fake....Joh 20:7 And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself. ... Lazarus who Jesus resurrected also had a napkin covering his fce, that was the custom in that day.

My dad worked on a small shroud project with john jackson. The end result was a cardboard statue of the shroud that went on display at the Air Force Academy. But I was skeptical. Then after the c-14 testing, I was even more skeptical. In 1999, a second look at the proof for its authenticity, and the evidence for an encoded Bible, was enough to knock me to my knees. I've been a Christian since then.

I trusted the radio carbon dating until I saw where they took the samples from. All the samples were taken from the same part of cloth and the position of these samples was nearly flush with an obvious repair. So if a recent repair skewed the results then you would expect their confidence rating to be low right? Well after a couple freedom of information requests we find out that the scientists threw out measurements in order to artificially raise the confidence margins to confirm (what they wanted). Every time I hear about Carbon dating I shake my head… one simply cannot accurately measure any specific age with any of the carbon dating processes. Even tests of live animals deliver wildly ranging dates of thousands of years old. The same piece tested can have up to a 99% error dating when testing 2 parts of the same item. One of the major flaws of carbon dating is that it presupposes carbon degrades at a constant rate throughout all history.

Dr. Habermas this is a good presentation & I like your part the best😇 The concern I have pertains to the standard carbon dating argument presented. It is important to note that the samples analyzed were taken from the portion of the Shroud that was repaired by the nuns of the Chapel of St. Mary Magdalene in Lirey, France. This is evidenced by the additional stitching, which aligns with the techniques employed by the nuns. I understand that this video was recorded some time ago, and it is possible that this information was not widely known at that time.
The image is remarkable. The argument against the 1988 carbon dating has been that it was based on the strands of threads that may have been drawn from the parts of the shroud that was repaired during the mediaeval times after it was damaged by fire.

I’m surprised David hasn’t seen the Pints with Aquinas video with the shroud expert from Rome, who’s also a Catholic Priest, going into ALL the “debunks” of the Shroud and literally debunk those lol. He’s said that the leading laboratories who did the radio carbon dating, not only admitted there was contamination during the test but also admitted they didn’t test 4 different areas of the shroud. But instead cut 4 pieces intended for testing, but ONLY ONE piece was used, that strip was cut into 4 pieces and those were sent out to the other labs. So ofc they came back with very similar results (medieval time period), and coincidentally the strip they used was the exact area that was patched up and repaired by French nuns after fire damage. I hope David does a bit more research ! 🙌🏽🙏🏽
If I recall correctly, the carbon dating was done on stitch repair made on the cloth in the 14th century. That, I believe, was deliberate. Later dating on the original cloth places it at the time of Christ. I'm in the Habermas camp on the shroud.

Not one person in history has successfully recreated the image on the Shroud, point by point! Many have tried, ALL have failed. The image is on the topmost fibrils of the topmost threads of the cloth. And it can only really be seen from about 15' away. In another video, a priest associated with the shroud study said that the samples used for C14 dating came from where the cloth is usually folded and also where the priests would handle it through the ages thus contamination through the ages. They were supposed to take seven samples, but wound up taking only one sample, from that suspect area, and then cut it into three pieces, then distributed those to the three labs.
Not true, such a repair would have been detectable under microscopic examination, and no such evidence was found. This claim is disputed as rigorous protocols were followed to detect such issues, and the tests were cross-verified with laboratories blind to the sample's origins to prevent bias. The official report from the dating process states that the sample came from the main body of the Shroud, away from any patches or charred areas. Even STURP (Shroud of Turin Research Project) did not argue that the sample used for radiocarbon dating came from a repaired section of the Shroud.

@@BesserGlauben the two pieces of evidence that stick out to me most are the stroboscopic photography and the photonegative relief map. The image has been proven to have been caused by an electromagnetic radiation. Blast. Well, this happened a stroboscopic photography capture was created. This is when several movements are captured at the same time. There are five movements caught in the image of the shroud, so the body was in movement when the image was captured. To this day we cannot replicate the effect created on this route in 2000 years ago. They did not even know what stroboscopic photography was. High resolution for the negative creates a perfect relief mat. No relief map can be scaled indefinitely as a 3-D distortion will become unreadable which creates various pointed edges when scaling. It is impossible as of 2024 to have a 3-D relief map scale indefinitely without creating distortion. The shroud is the only relief map they can be scaled indefinitely. At this time, it’s impossible to do so with any relief map at this time. Recently, AI technology has located faint text on both sides of the chin in Latin and Greek. The text reads Nazarene and Jesus. There is no mention of divinity, which makes sense because he had not been canonized at that time. Are they fragments? AI has found “removed ninth hour”.
@@BesserGlauben sure! there’s several reasons, but the two that stand out to me are - 1. The image has been discovered to be caused by a burst of electromagnetic radiation which they discovered in 2023. It displays five subtle movements, also known as a graphic photography. This is where a person is being photographed during movement, exposing several layers upon each other. The burst of energy works the same as an x-ray and displayed slight shifts of energy from inside the wrapping. This also happened from the back with the same effect. Proving the person wrapped in the cloth with the exact wounds of Jesus moved after they had been wrapped. There was no x-ray technology 2000 years ago to do a stroboscopic photographic capture. 2. The photo negative of the shroud creates a high resolution relief map. A relief map can be scaled to create terrains and other napping points typically based on ladder. As of 2024 we have no technology that will allow a relief map to be scaled indefinitely without creating distortion Except for the shroud. Using the phone negative scan, the relief map scale indefinitely, creating a 3-D version of our Lord. This is impossible to do with any relief map, except for the one on the shroud. 3. Computer handed image scanning by Barbara Frale used AI technology to locate a faint Greek text on both sides of the chin the text read “Nazarene” and “Jesus”. There’s also other points, such as the rare soil and pollen only found indigenous to Jerusalem in Judea. They’ve also tested the blood type (AB) and found Bilirubin which is caused by extreme stress and severe injury. The Billy Rubin breaks down the red blood cells, which keeps the blood red as it shows on the shroud. The clots were created prior to the imaging on the cloth yet the blood clots remain and moved. New carbon dating places the shroud to the first century, the stitch use was only known of Fortress in Israel. Wide x-ray scattering tests shows this cannot be replicated as of 2024. The image itself is caused by distortion on just 1/8 of the top layer of thread. No paint dies, vapors, scorching or other colour agents were found. The camera also tracks a human face. To me, there is no question, the shroud is an image of our Lord Jesus Christ

In the Spring of 2010 Jesus appeared to me in my home during the late afternoon, I saw him head to toe and the sudarium covered his face, but at that time I did not know what a sudarium was. It was later that I learned of the burial cloth over his face, and later still that I learned about the Shroud. I don't have to wonder about its authenticity, nor did Barry Schworz.
So evidently there is no current technology to reproduce this kind of an image on a cloth. If we don’t have it now, they didn’t have it in the 13th century, much less the 1st century. The piece of cloth that was carbon dated is my understanding from a later cloth sowed on to the original after the fire damaged it. Correct me if I’m wrong about that. There are no similar images on other burial cloths from that time, and the wounds on the body of the man on the shroud correspond to the gospels narratives. I don’t personally care if it is original or not. This is the facts we have been given. No explanation with current methods and technology. Seems someone was a lot smarter than us a long time ago to get that image on there.
why would Jesus say there is only one God. Deuteronomy 6:4 ► Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. John 17:3 ► Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.Matthew 21:11 ► The crowds answered, “This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee.” Jesus never said himself hes divine or God or part of trinity
@@amjidhuss1092many times in the New Testament he refers to himself as the Son of Man. This goes right back to the Prophet Daniel in the Old Testament where in his vision this Son of Man is apparently human and he is ushered into the presence of the ancient of days and it further says he is worshipped. There are many old testament references to the plurality of Yahweh. When Jesus was on trial before the crucifixion he said to the Jews that they would see him coming on the clouds of heaven. To the Jews this was blasphemy because Jesus was claiming to be Yahweh. So I can go all over the New Testament and point to passages the Jesus claimed He was Yahweh, but I suspect you have reservations that the New Testament is actually true and probably has been corrupted? I would respectfully ask you to prove how it has been corrupted?
When this object was made in the 14th century, then-current technology was all they had. The Sudarium of Oviedo is another example of a cloth similar to the Shroud of Turin.
There is additional evidence that would point to the Shroud being older than the 1300s that Dr Habermas points out in other lectures. Many of the paintings or other depictions of Jesus going back well before 1300 seem to be based off the image on the shroud. I think that proving conclusively that the shroud is real is impossible, but the more I learn the more I fall into the 70-90% certainty range with Dr Habermas.
Exactly!! Look at the famous Sr Catherine icon of Jesus, dating from the 6th century. It shows a bearded Jesus, just like on the Shroud. Yet depictions of Jesus from the earliest centuries show Him clean-shaven, Roman-style. What changed? The Shroud was brought to Constantinople.
The facial cloth known as the Sudarium of Oviedo dates back to 570 AD and the blood stains on that cloth have been shown to match the blood stains of the Shroud of Turin. Both are mention in John 20:7.
The depictions of Jesus going back before 1300 are not based off the shroud, which has no provenance before the late medieval period. The artist who confessed to having "cunningly made" the Shroud would have based his depiction on traditionally accepted depictions of Jesus.
It was xray dated to 1st century. Get informed. Carbon deposition from a medieval fire accounts for C dating issues Contains pollen from plants that only bloomed in Jerusalem and which went extinct 300 AD Also contains myrrh and aloe residue
It is very clear from this scripture that the burial cloths were two separate cloths not one. Conclusion: The shroud is not Jesus burial cloth. John 20:6 Simon Peter arrived just after him. He entered the tomb and saw the linen cloths lying there. 7 The cloth that had been around Jesus’ head was rolled up, lying separate from the linen cloths.
The other is known as the Sudarium of Oviedo. It has been in Spain since the early 7th century. You might want to learn something about THAT relic and come to your own conclusions.
@@Jennifer-h5f This is not a very good representation of a face. We sat faceing the big doors which were open. On the stone surrounding the doors i saw jesus in the stone his face i could not believe it and the more i looked i just knew it was him. I asked my husband if he could see it he said yes we both started to draw what we saw as there were crayons and paper near by for children. I drew what i could see which was a long forehead his middle of his face also and the bottom of his face was very long he had a beard but it wasent pointed it seemed to fit his long face. He had 3 small points just above his forehead like a crown but the points were not big very small. I felt so excited i just wanted to ask people if they could see what i could see but didant. I appreciate David Wood's healthy skepticism. I think it shows that he's carefully considering the evidence and trying to correctly weigh the arguments for and against. One thing I know: we must not worship the shroud, nor hold it to be more than a good piece of evidence for the resurrection of Jesus. Ultimately, it is a thing that might point toward the truth of the Bible, yet the Bible itself is what we look to for our understanding of God, His mercy and grace to us, and how we should believe and worship Him.

Show me a single apologist with an audience that believes the shroud is real who has asserted that it is a fake. It hasn't happened, because they couldn't make money from it.
Nothing wrong with healthy skepticism, but this guy is extremely skeptical in light of the overwhelming evidence, including sod, pollen and x-ray testing that trumps the flawed carbon-14 testing. There is no reason now to be less than 50%, and this guy is weirdly at 20-30%
I don’t know if the shroud is authentic or not, but I do have a lot of confidence in Dr. Habermas especially in his area of NDE’s. I like the information that the shroud reveals about the crucifixion of people.
the 1300 AD result came about because they took samples from repaired sections of the shroud. The repairs were done by medieval french nuns after fire damage.
They dated the Shroud for around 1300ad with carbon dating and claim it is not the original of Jesus' shroud or authentic. But the testing was done on a portion of the shroud that was repaired in the year 1534 from a fire that took place. The repaired portion was done using cotton and not linen. The shroud in those times only used linen. Therefore, if a test were to be done today on the linen section of the shroud, it would date to the time of Jesus. I believe this could be the actual Shroud of Jesus Christ. Wrong or right, doesn't change my belief in God's Son nor what the bible states. I find this all to be so wonderful and gives us all hope and faith. God is amazing....
It’s very interesting that he doesn’t mention that the part that was carbonated isn’t original fabric to the shroud. It was later put on during that time the 1300. because of the fire that the shroud went through.

As a reader of The Urantia Book for fifty years, I have known the Shroud of Turin to be the burial cloth of Joshua ben Joseph, or Jesus, as he is commonly referred to. The image on the shroud was created as a result of the dissolution of his physical body; the resurrected Jesus had left his physical body, in spirit form, through the still sealed sepulcher. The angels of the resurrection were permitted to remove the physical body of Jesus, through the natural process of decay that any body would go through, except that the element of time was removed, making the dissolution of Jesus' body well-nigh instantaneous. This removal of the time element was also utilized at the wedding at Cana, taking the elements necessary to make wine, yet removing the time element, allowing the instant maturation of wine. The Urantia Book answers many questions that time has not answered.
Elvis passed away in his bathroom reading a book he waited three months to arrive. He was an avid reader and traveled DAILY with a trunk of over 300+ books. 'A scientific search for the face of Jesus' by Frank Adams. I never knew about the shroud until I read this in numerous Biographies about Elvis. I became hooked on the Shroud & the science. I have my faith regaurdless but after Aug 2024 scientific data I believe WITHOUT A DOUBT its Jesus' cloth.
The radio carbon dating was done on ONE strip of cloth, cut into three pieces. That's completely dishonest, unprofessional, and unscientific. Also, if you know anything about High Medieval Art, it looks *nothing* like the Shroud Image. No medieval artist had that degree of anatomical knowledge. And no High Medieval artist was even painting in a highly realistic style! Look at 13th-century art if you don't believe me. Even today, no figurative artist can capture the anatomical accuracy of the Shroud Image. Not even close. There are literally thousands of other data points,, from pollen to the scourge wounds (Crucifixion victims weren't usually scourged first). WADR you really need to do some more digging!
Your comments about the anatomical accuracy of the Shroud image are jaw-droppingly inaccurate. Have you never seen late medieval tombs with effigies of those buried there? And your comment that "even today, no figurative artist can capture the anatomical accuracy of the Shroud image" is utter nonsense.
I saw a video showing that when men’s sperm unites with the women’s egg a flash of light occurs. It’s the spark of life. I believe this is what happened at the moment Jesus resurrected into His body but on a much higher scale.
This would be the best piece of physical evidence Christianity had yet no Gospel writer mentions it, neither does Peter nor Paul. They don't mention it because it didn't exist.
Well, probably because without modern techniques, it's hard to impossible to see anything on the shroud. So your question is, why didn't the disciples hold up a cloth with a little blood on it and use it as proof. It's modern technology that provides evidences that make it a somewhat convincing relic. Without that, it's just something cool enough for christians to preserve.

The shroud is mentioned in the scripture .Matthew 27:59-60 [59]When Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, [60]and laid it in his new tomb which he had hewn out of the rock; and he rolled a large stone against the door of the tomb, and departed. John says if everything was written no one could open the book, let me ask did Jesus visit the bathroom in this life ?it is not written ,so how can we believe he was truly a human ?John 20:7 [7]and the handkerchief that had been around His head, not lying with the linen cloths, but folded together in a place by itself. (The Apostles were all terrified and also joyous , some things like the shroud may have been kept so well.not to be lost ,as the church was under terrible persecution ,such important physical evidences would be jealously kept ).

Personally I’m still on the fence but improved testing has made me sit higher. There are some cool comments below. One person rejected the shroud originally but when further tests indicated flawed results on the 88 carbon dating found faith. Another who is presumably Muslim, harping on about how Jesus couldn’t be God and then launching into Momo apologetics, confirms the true faith about JC and how false prophets would come. ie, trying to distract and deceive. . One thing is certain: anything left to age for 15 centuries or more can't be easily duplicated. Think of an old wooden desk-an expert eye would be able to distinguish the original from a copy. Same for the shroud. How come? With all the science we have, we can't make a perfect copy from a simple desk?
Whst a think might be most valuable in the shroud is not whether it provides explicit evidence of the most important of events, which might be helpful to some, and of no consequence to others, but rather the portrait it supplies of truly overwhelming agonies endured by it Subject, which are extremely moving to the minds of those who are already convinced of them. It deepens the awareness of what we already have. It is not a polemic but an enlivening and an enriching.
@@catharsis77 I think we have a breakdown in communicatons here. Entirely my fault, I don't hide the fact I can be a bit thick at times. I guess the easiest way to clear it up, is to ask you straight, do you believe the Shroud is genuine, or a medieval forgery?
Of course it's real. It's the Holy Grail. There is so much evidence historical and scientific. Very disappointed Gary Habermas. The truth becomes obvious folks if you read the bible! Edit* for clarity of my position and comment. In the 1st century traditional Jewish burial, the family & friends washed the dead body and anointed it with oil & spices. The following scriptures tell us the story. Matthew 27:56-61 Mark 15:40-47 Luke 23:50-56 John 19:33-40 to John 20:7 With these verses we can summarize the scene. A few highlights in the verses from John; verses 33& 34 Jesus is already dead, a soldier pieced His side and blood & water gushed out. No longer bleeding. * The women & John looked on. * Joseph of Aramathaea & Nicodemus were there. * Joseph supplied the tomb & Nicodemus supplied the myrrh & aloes. * Joseph & Nicodemus WASHED the body and anointed it with oil & spices. The woman followed on with them and witnessed. John's account gives a little more detail, especially 20:4-7 Linen cloths - plural verses 6-7 "Then comes Simon Peter following him and went into the sepulcher and sees the linen clothes lie. And the napkin that was about His head not lying with the linen clothes but wrapped together in a place by itself." Woah! Read that again! One separate napkin for the head and at least 2 other linen cloths according to the word of God The disciple John, witnessed this event and recorded it. Believe it or not! I've heard the 'argument ' for the shroud' and it does NOT come up to true record with the scriptures. 1. The body of Jesus Christ was washed and anointed with spices and oil by Joseph of Aramathaea & Nicodemus, so the there was no blood on Jesus' burial cloths to be a 'supernatural' Xray. 2. The science in the 1980's proved the cloth to be a Medi-eval time piece. One long piece. Not several pieces as the scriptures testify to; one 'napkin' for the head and at least 2 for the body. I believe this is the true & correct findings of a Medi-eval reproduction of the crucifixion gone wrong and the guy died and they immediately wrapped him in one long piece of linen cloth and the rest is history and relic worship. It was common back then to go to extremes for this type of re-enactment of the crucifixtion from the 14th to 17th century. Some countries today even go to extremes of the re-enactment.
There is a full length strip removed from the full shroud now reattached with stitching known to be 1st Century examples from Masada desert. These are the cloths used in Jesus's burial. The napkin referred to was applied around Jesus's head whilst he was still on the cross. It was used out of respect and to mop up blood mainly from the nose area. This is now known as the Sudarium of Oviedo and has a documented history back to Alexandria in the 500s. It has similar dirt particles and pollen to the Shroud and is the same blood type, AB.
@@anthonyrobb4858 You just regurgitated what the latest 'sensational non evidence' folks are saying. My reply to your statements are; 1. Woman have known how to do stitching for thousands of years now. 2. These are not the same burial cloths of Jesus Christ as there was no blood left on the dead body when finally wrapped after being washed and anointed with spices and oil by Joseph of Aramathaea and Nicodemus. 3. Joseph of Aramathaea was a rich man and could afford any amount of burial cloth; Why would there be a repair to a burial cloth in the 1st century by a very rich man who probably bought a bunch of them? The same who was a traditional Jew and the dead body must be put into the grave before sundown as was the custom before the High Sabbath began, to do no work. 4. Show me proof from the scriptures that the napkin was on Jesus' head on the cross out of respect. 5 About the remainder, I don't care for relics that are worshiped. 6. Your replies also showed that you did NOT read the scriptures. 7. As a child of God it is imperative to your faith to read or listen to the true word of God. 8. The scientific test done in the 1980's proved to be a medi-eval timepiece. Since it was common back then to do real live reproductions of the Crucifixion, I believe this to be a time when the re-enactment went too far and the dude died and they immediately wrapped him up in one long cloth. Hence the amount of blood and one long single cloth. Walla! - The shroud of Turin that people want to worship.
@@MattKingsley-zy7dnthe concept that a dead body doesn't bleed is incomplete. Blood can still leak out of wounds for a time even though the heart is no longer bleeding. The puncture to Christ's side was most likely after he died, it pierced His heart causing the flow of blood and a clear liquid. Crucifixion was a horrible way to die, the affect on the body was extreme, it causes stresses and swelling within the body given the position of the body.
@@katherinemcdaniel8676 After death, a body undergoes several changes that affect its ability to bleed. Initially, the blood remains unfixed and can move if the body’s position is changed. However, within a few hours, livor mortis sets in, causing the blood to settle in the lowest parts of the body. This process typically begins soon after death and is usually complete within six hours. Therefore, while a dead body might bleed for a short period immediately after death, it generally cannot bleed for hours due to the settling and coagulation of blood. The crucifixion of Jesus has been examined from various medical perspectives, and the consensus among many doctors is that Jesus likely experienced significant blood loss before he died. Jesus' body was then pierced, and water and blood gushed out, after His death. John 19:34 There would have been very little left.
I read that the shroud had been kept in a silver lined chest for quite a long period at one time. That would alter the rate of radioactive decay of the material somewhat also .
In medieval times they had mystery plays to educate folks about Christianity. I believe this is one of those mysteries, to get folks to think about Jesus and Who He is.
Love ya David - but when you say that your confidence is as low as 20%, largely because Carbon dating is 'pretty reliable' - you have a problem. The Carbon dating has been proven in error - agreed to even by one of the scientists that did it (the now editor of the Oxford Journal that recanted the dating). Your main reason is hence gone ... sooo ....?
I assume (perhaps wrongly) that David's hesitation might be my own regarding the carbon dating: why the hesitancy to do a *proper* carbon dating, if they're so confident in the x-ray testing? There's no reason not to do it right and eliminate the single biggest criticism of the shroud's authenticity. The suggestion that they don't want to tamper with the shroud is absurd given the importance of the implication (not to mention the surface area of the shroud).
@@dianekamer8341 Referring to my response, I believe David knows these issues. The problem now is why they haven't simply done a *proper* carbon test, show it to line up with the X-ray test and the single biggest obstacle to believing its authenticity in the case of a believer (and at least the date in the case of the nonbeliever) is effectively removed.
@@TheJavsoloFirst you would have to know the conditions. But the biggest question would be , why would GOD ALLOW an image of Jesus to be discovered over 1300 years roughly after his burial and his ascension? Then we have to look at scripture to find out why he would hide Moses body but allow the image of Jesus who of course is greater than Moses to be uncovered? Now I don’t need any artifacts to arouse my faith in Christ, nor do I believe it is necessary for the gospel. This is all speculation and there is NO evidence that this is Jesus burial cloth.

The concern I have pertains to the standard carbon dating argument presented.
The image is not that of a man who was wrapped in it and then sealed in a tomb.
The flaws in carbon data have been well documented. It was a sampling error not representative of the image on the cloth.

Think you could determine the size and shape of the light source?
@@BesserGlauben sure! there’s several reasons, but the two that stand out to me are -

I don’t know if the shroud is authentic or not, but I do have a lot of confidence in Dr. Habermas especially in his area of NDE’s. I like the information that the shroud reveals about the crucifixion of people.
Metatron did a video one year ago and it was spectacular. Loved it, I'm pretty much on top of this being authentic.
the 1300 AD result came about because they took samples from repaired sections of the shroud.
Indeed! They carbon dated a patch that contained cotton!

The image on the shroud is miraculous
John 20:7 does mention the facial cloth and the burial cloth. Perhaps, Peter and John took them to show the other disciples.

And the napkin that was about His head not lying with the linen clothes but wrapped together in a place by itself."

The disciple John, witnessed this event and recorded it.
My reply to your statements are;
1. Woman have known how to do stitching for thousands of years now.
2. These are not the same burial cloths of Jesus Christ as there was no blood left on the dead body when finally wrapped after being washed and anointed with spices and oil by Joseph of Aramathaea and Nicodemus.
3. Joseph of Aramathaea was a rich man and could afford any amount of burial cloth;
Why would there be a repair to a burial cloth in the 1st century by a very rich man who probably bought a bunch of them?

Carbon dating is flawed. The real question is why can't this shroud be re-created.
Investigate further, please! There are HUGE issues with the carbon dating.
@@dianekamer8341 Referring to my response, I believe David knows these issues. He was "wound" in Jewish burial clothes, not covered in a shroud, and his headpiece was entirely separate. Read your bible instead of looking for useless talismans. You must be born again.
Typical stupid Protestant remark.
I just looked it up in Matthew and the word translated “wrap” can mean fold or wrap in. The shroud definitely qualifies. Certainly not the gospel but for skeptics, we now have not just historical evidence of the resurrection but the most studied artifact in history points to its truthfulness.
@@mcsegeek1 exactly, not only was there a face cloth but linen cloth in the plural as in clothsssssssss. As we see in the account of Lazarus and other gospels of Jesus’ burial.
@@CoffeeCrazy ever heard of the sudarium?
@@UMAKEMESMILESWACKIN The Sudra?
I was the one that provided the new testing method recently that proved it was from the time of Jesus.

unbelievable phenomena must be told,It is my obligation to say it others have the right to know. I am from the state of Qatar, It is a miracle to see an image of a person on the ceiling of my room which appeared in April 2016. The facial features are somewhat long and beautiful, with a light beard, and his hair reaches the beginning of the shoulders with sharp and glamorous eyes and a cheerful look, features are mostly from the northern Middle East or somehow southern Europe's The picture so clear to the point of being beyond imagination, which amazed me,the incident happened quickly. I was asleep and woke up suddenly to witness the event with all my senses aware of what was happening by seeing the image. At first, I thought that he resembled a friend to a very slight degree, but inspiration came to my mind quickly. He is Christ, It took a time to not estimate it, not knowing what happened later , when I went back to sleep, occurred once ,hence what in my real scene I have to say this the Christ looks other than this i do not know.using google to translate Arabic to English.
