  • Despite all of the challenges and issues listed in this video, there's a lack of diversity in the Esports community. The vast majority of Esports players and viewers are young, male, and from Western countries. Overall this makes it difficult for Esports to reach a wider audience. Whatcha think? Like and subscribe if you like content like this :]

The reason why gaming is big in Asia countries compared to the US is because gaming is not looked down upon in Asia. In the US gaming is looked down upon in some way shape or form. Esports is a very mental(i dont feel like typing the explanation), the physical aspect is training your aim and movement (mechanics). People in the US dont want to acknowledge esports because it's "dorky" its "nerdy" all of these stigmas around gaming. Some games are very hard to understand whats going on at first glance, but thats everything, Look at American Football. At first glance all you see is dudes bending over for each other. With no one around you to explain to you what they're doing and why they're doing it, you are closing that out and never looking back😅. CSGO is a very easy game to understand, you made things seem more complex than they are especially in such a simple game. One way smokes and line ups are very simple to understand; "they just stand in a spot look at a certain area and through a smoke grenade so it lands in a specific spot." You also have to take into account that esports is very new compared to these other sports you compared them to. People(especially in the US) are very dismissive of gaming entirely, and think its for kids. It all comes down to a lack of understanding. (but you did pick the absolute worst games to make your point seem more valid, like no duh someone who hasnt played overwatch would not understand whats going on. Especially if they have 0 knack for noticing details. I have less than 3 hours played in Overwatch and I can still manage to understand whats going on.) I dont know the statistics of why Esports is "fading" I didn't see any in the video sadly. And if you are talking about having a connection to a team because of some home town or whatever. I guess it makes sense why you left EU out of the video then lol. Since in EU there is massive pride when it comes to that sort of thing, that is why CSGO as an Esport is so successful. There are so many countries in Europe and so many pros from these countries. The viewers see that a pro is from the same country and them and feel a connection and want to support them. Look at the CSGO team Astralis; They are a full Danish squad, meaning everyone from Denmark supports this team because of their Nationality. Even if one member of a team is from a specific country, many people from that country will support that team for that sole reason and after time support them for many other reasons.
