One afternoon I was tracking sheep with my dog. I stopped to touch their print. I said “some evil gives speed to these creatures”. Thanks for not saying “abino”. 😂😂

Yahteeh Lila my grandma use to live on the Monave Rd . o dinosaur tracks Rd. her name was Doris Sellers I remember visiting her to help wit the garden.. ghe end of the day we wud have a home cook meal corn n squash wit tortillas n Navajo tea . Mm mm mmmm
❤love your stories!❤️ reminded me of my grandma 🥰. I remember a time when we had to separate the mommas with lambs for feeding time… there were so many, but the little ones all knew it was time to eat! There were two or so who had become orphaned but were still able to feed off the other mommies. 🐑 Another story… this was of my auntie.. she had one goat “Nanny Goat”… that loved candy… so when Nanny Goat comes near you she’ll sniff your pocket or if she hears wrapper crunching in your pocket she won’t go away until you give her some candy. And auntie always had sweets with her… Sheep herding was like play time for us… fun times! thank you for sharing… you made it like we were there with you ❤❤
I really like your channel and stories about your family. You speak very well and your stories are so interesting. The native American culture interest me so much. I am from Colorado.

Hi Lila,,man,,I wish you'd make more vids. You alway have interesting subjects. I also hold the memories of my Grandparents and my Mom and my Uncles and Aunties. I'm always riding or walking or seeing or smelling something that brings the memories rushing back. I like the fact you show places I'd never see. Even the tree cutting brought strong memories,,the smell of juniper,,saw exhaust, sweat etc. I cut truckloads of juniper in central Oregon with my Uncle and cousins and Grandpa. Sheep herding,,,,coyotes! Lol thanks alot. I enjoyed it. Ttyl,,,Marlon
Very awesome, I really enjoyed the whole video and all the stories and of the house and it's transitioning through the years. Thank you so much for sharing!!
Nizhoni.. The elders use to say herding sheep is a learning place...mother earth mother nature have a lot of teaching...thank you for the memories...oh and mama cow usually hide their baby calf so they can rest...
Love this!! I remember taking the sheep/goats up the mountain with grandma, at the top we would take a break and have tortillas that grandma made early in the morning. We would make a sandwich with wild onions we find along the way .. 😋
Ya at eeh Lila, I liked your story it brings back memories of my grandfather when we used to take care of the goats together. A lot of good times, I sure miss him and my grandmother. It was good to see you and your mother in your grandparents old house, from time and time I go to my grandparents old house place. Good video and great stories, thanks.
hi there for me harding sheep was my favorite and now I just miss harding sheep ever cents I was small now just miss it and it's a good to walk around and it's nice to look over the and watch them eat 😊😊❤❤❤❤
New sub, love your stories.💕🐑 I was a child shepherd, I rode my grandma’s old mare then a frisky pony as I got older. A fun food memory is my older cousins eating saltines & sardines - a genius protein/salt combo & ease of portability. I learned to gather wild onions, chilchin, pinions & herbs for my grandma while herding.✨💚
Yaateeh... Lila's I'm from around near your story same so awesome to be wit animals an i use to do that long time we we're live on top of Gap TP near west of first windmills where salt ppl's clans my gma live there most pass year's we do have sum sheep's & goat's then plus a donkey I'm sure miss does day's ❤
Summer of 2022, I herd sheep, along with many other daily chores, in Wide Ruins area, while living in a hogan the whole Summer. It is one of the Best Treasured Memories ever!! 🥰🌅🐑🐏🐑🐏🐕🐾🐎🌟🦅🪶 I Really Miss it 🥲💝🥰🙏🏽🌅🌹🦅🪶
One time at sheep camp! One of our lambs got attack by a coyote, while we took a nap me an lil bro & so call sheep dogs, wake up to sheep running around didn’t know what was going on until the dogs found the coyote nibbling on the lamb, lamb survived lol
Yahteeh! Im looking for other native ytbers like myself. Loved the video. Always good memories at Grandmas house huh? ❤ I miss taking freezing showers out of a wash pan. Now im living it up in the city. I miss the random CHILL SPOTS when watching thr sheep graze. Aye we had a black sheep that would always take off out the canyon, he was like a stray cat, always trynna take off. 😂😅😮
could you make a video on sheep ranching, costs/expenses per herd/ewe...I know a cattle rancher in Montana does it for his channel and its pretty good. He talks of the cowboy way but I think that sheep ranching may actually be more profitable and people should hear that....just a thought. I am not a rancher whatsoever but the show "yellowstone" made me look at the lifestyle a bit closer. I think I would be a shepherd vs cowboy because it seems that you need less land and can have a less expensive form of ranching than cowboying. stay well. Also learning about what Federal help Native People can get will also be helpful such as tax breaks, utility help...etcetera.
Good stories. A story I like to share, the one goat I hated which made me go after up the other canyon (Shonto canyon)wall and literally yelled at to turn back.. never cooperated with me while the others did. I really wanted that goat to be donated to any ceremony! So finally the day came and I felt so honored grandma asked me which one to butcher and with out hesitation I picked that one goat and grandma REJECTED! my choice. The goat I hated was saved.. pardoned by grandma! Btw, Go Raiders! 👊💪👍
I remember when school was out for the summer my dad used to tell me to get ready pack a few days of clothes were going up to the mountain to help out, so I do as I'm told get ready and wait for the next morning to start herding sheep for the rest of the summer break, What Fawn memories of the days we wish could be again. When we didn't worry about locking our doors sleeping with our windows open at night But unfortunately time now is scary and getting dangerous. Just wanted to thank you for sharing, 🪶✝️🙏🏽Ahe' Heé 😊 be safe.❤
Lol mine is going sheep hearding with my grandma and remembering her saying she was going to take a nap. My young self wasn’t tired and got bored so I too her I was going to run back to her house. She said “aóó be careful” lol she didn’t ask me to go again.
