I'm from Jalisco which is where birria is from in Mexico. It's cool to see someone bringing it over to the other side of the world and acknowledging my culture. I was nervous at first seeing he wasn't Mexican but he's a good ambassador for sure. He definitely grew up around the authentic culture in California.
I lived in Nuevo Leon (as a guero) for 3 years, but returned back to NZ. I've been thinking for ages to make and sell "gringas"/tacos al pastor somewhere here. I smashed so many there.
most of our "Mexican" food places here are not run my Mexicans unfortunately so if it werent for this type of platform most of us NewZealanders would have no clue if we were eating the real deal food or not lol thank you for confirming BrokeBoys legit

i am rom south texas, lots of hispanic resturants down here everywhere you go, food trucks too etc. i am very suprised just by looking at how its done and how it looks, that boy knows what hes doing for sure, his friends taught him well, major props to him to be able to pull that cuisine off in another country. if there is one thing i am not seeing though, is cilantro, its a must in mexican dishes that require it, maybe that demographic doesnt like cilantro over there, and thats okay, whatever works!

Plus doing one thing and being popular, you known the stuff is fresh. Due to the turn over. If a restaurant has too much on the menu, how long is it been there. If a pub is not a Guinness pub and only has two pints a week taken, then the pint will be bad. Go to an Irish pub and the Guinness will always be good.
