that Norton moped put in a good show from 4:09 onwards. Check out the way the rider tucks in for more speed following his outside line overtaking manoeuvre. What a hooligan lol
I bought a new Honda SS50 in 1976. The only training I got was the salesman showing me the brakes, clutch, gears and lights! Then I had to ride 10 miles home. I progressed to a CB250G5, passed my test and at 18, bought a GS400 and then a Bonneville 750 at 19! 45 years later, I'm still riding bikes and still enjoying it! I have a small collection of classic Japanese bikes ranging from a 1972 DT3 250 Enduro to a 1990 FJ1200.
0.31 Honda CB 125J My first bike, same colour. £70 down and £70/month thereafter. MGB pulled out in front of me in Brighton one rainy night , I hit the B pillar T bone style and went right over the top of the car. Bike frame was bent so a right off it was. Sad days, insurance only covered the market value of the bike so I spent 9 months paying off the HP with no bike. When I bought it, the guy in the shop walked it across the road to a pub car park and showed me the basic controls. I had a go for 5 minutes then in the pick up truck it went and he drove me home and that was it-I was on my own. I did have training via the RAC ACU scheme and ended up joining a large motorbike club. Great days.
Its not till I watched this video I remembered the NVT easy rider my local bike shop sold them and Advertised them a lot in bike mags of the time , I purchased a Honda instead , but funny how your mind looses memories , great video
The usual path was AP50/SS50 etc -RD250/250N - GPZ750/GS750 in 2/3 years... some of the guys aren't here today because of that choice sadly .... @@jezstokes8592

I did the AA/RAC training in 81'. Which has helped me to ride safely ever since. Very necessary out here on Bangkok's death roads!
Absolutely awesome. Obviously it was mandatory to look a knob on two wheels back then!
You had no choice. Try to imagine what it was like in the fucking 60s!
Yet again Richard rocking some cool style there; Harris Tweed cap and bright green Adidas(?) jacket. A better time in so many ways... #GB
And leather troos

Wow! A Puch GPS. They were great little bikes. Most of my friends had Fizzys but the Puch had more torque.

I had a Kawasaki 250 triple back then, although I had bigger faster bike's, my all-time love was that 250
Seems like a good excuse to dress head to toe in shiny leather in gaudy colours and don a pair of high heeled boots .......
Go for it then👍
@Alec Hemy ...but then he jumps on a little pink moped and rides around in circles like a girl.
