Welcome! Every now and then Antifascists get some news coverage and this video gets a bunch more views! This is an educational resource that I made to help the public better understand these ideas. If you scroll down you'll see that I do my best to engage with people and have a general policy of not removing comments. The vast, vast majority of my replies, as you'll see, are to people who simply comment without watching the video. So again, I would urge you to actually watch it before commenting or you'll only make a fool of yourself! I've no doubt that a lot of people aren't really here to learn or discuss and just want to express their feelings of sympathy with fascism - I leave their comments up and reply to them anyway because I want everyone else to see, and for them to know themselves, that they can't pretend to be rational and sensible or expect to be taken seriously by people who want to use their brains and hearts to better themselves.
I do remove comments that contain slurs, threats, fascist propaganda, or antisemitic conspiracy theories, as sadly all too many do.

You can't really think of capitalism and the state as separate entities. What we often call the state is a company. Maybe it is a company ran by the people, a small elite or somewhere in between.
In a fully capitalist society the companies makes up the state, like in China.
Anarchosyndicalists tries to achieve a "stateless" society while achieving socialism.
What method works, works better/worse than other methods and which methods doesn't work I don't know. I guess marxism-leninism was quite the failure.
But I am not educated in economy, social science and all that type of shit. So my words don't mean much in the grand scheme of things.
I just think we should go forward scientifically and with an open mind.
I also know where I want to go based on how I value the individual experience of every conscious being.

It's cool, wording things correctly can be pretty challenging on the Internet, especially with how many people are determined to purposefully misrepresent your views.
There are extremists of every standpoint, they don't represent the wider community.
Making sure white people, or any majority, aren't privileged by law is not the same as "favouring minorities".
Peoples right to love who they want and not feel judged is more important than reproduction, because those who want to reproduce still will, and if anything, we could do with a birth rate below replacement rates for a while. There are too many people as it is.

Take me, I’m a queer Arab woman. I have a lot I could complain about but I don’t like giving power over to others to control my destiny keeping me where I am. If I don’t like people or systems where I am, I will move. If I don’t like my life, I will change it.

Whenever someone pretends that my ideology is as much as a choice as a fascists or neonazi is, I feel so powerless because there is a fundamental misunderstanding. 56:45 in Belgium this tactic is often used by not differentiating between different kinds of immigration. We have a huge influx of people from the Netherlands and France each year. It's because we have 3 official languages, of which 2 are widely used (french and dutch). You can also navigate our society quite easily if you only speak English. However, when a white dutch person immigrates to Belgian they are obviously still an immigrant and can be used in immigrant statistics. There was a widely spread headline that said 'more then 50% of babies born in a big city have at least one non-belgian parent'. This makes it sound like 50% of babies are biracial, while in fact the vast majority were white but just had a dutch, french, british or even german parent.

"and here's a Hindu group in Boston whom antifa labelled as Fascist for being pro-free-speech, at which antifa then attacked a Black woman."
Antifa = anti-capitalist Strasserites, POSING as anti-fash. They even beat up two Latino Marines, whilst the ALL WHITE "antifa" gang called them "b*aners" and "sp*cs". Strasserites hate Hitlerites, but Strasserites are 100% as much a part of the ORIGINAL Nazi Party as Hitler was, and 1920's "progressives" welcomed Strasserites into America (as part of Operation Paperclip, and more), whereupon Soros and other Strasserites joined Dem Party and subverted it from within.
Who was Margaret Sanger, what was her relationship with Hitler, and why does the "liberal, (supposedly) anti-racism" Dem Party still give tax dollars to her RACIAL EUGENICIST org today?
What was George Bernard Shaw's relationship with Hitler, and was he left or right? Is he still accepted by leftist professors today?
What was "progressive" president Woodrow Wilson's relationship with the KKK?
PROGRESSIVES, more than any other Dem Party faction, combine racism and socialism, just as the original Strasserite Nazis did. They still do, trapping Blax into self-destruction, just as SANGER said she admired how Hitler used "Kapos" and "Judenratten" to trap Jews into self-destruction.
...Hillary "I'll only talk to WHITE people" Clinton then called Sanger her "hero".

Then again, I (as a Cit-Het man) unfortunately don't know many trans people. So I am kinda curious: do trans people look at their work differently when they produced it in their pre-transition phase of their life? Or do you can distance yourself from the fact that you wrote something as a man and not a woman?

Like "oh I used to do those things and dress that way but im a different person now" type deal. I used to make a lot of videos of myself singing, It feels weird thinking that back when i made those vids, i didnt have the same perspective on my gender as I do now. And looks wise, I've changed so much since coming out that it just feels weird seeing that I used to be a guy that wore dresses and had such a high voice. Fascism is the end point of the spectrum for conservatism as communism is the end point of the spectrum for the liberalism.

      Fascism is authoritarian
      Communism is authoritarian

I’m a pacifist anarchist (or an anarcho-pacifist) and it is extraordinarily important to bring up the fact that being passive and being pacifist are not the same. Assertive pacifism with direct, non-violent action through protest, education, and community aid is certainly not just sitting around and being passive. The state *is* violence and opposing it is peace. While I don’t believe that opposing state violence with violence is going to protect us from state violence, I also don’t believe we can simply sit by and let ourselves be hurt. tl;dr - Thanks for not getting triggered, thanks for being honest with your pain, thanks for reflecting on your beliefs no matter the direction they go, that's actually very healthy and pro-human behavior.
From a cognitive behavioral point-of-view (thanks therapy) - emotional pain, like physical pain, is your body signalling to your psyche that something happening to you that goes against the worldview that allows you to be healthy *DO SOMETHING ABOUT THAT SHIT NOW!!!* Generally speaking, a healthy mindset (read: a mindset that allows us to be relational to other humans, typically pro-human/pro-social thinking and behaviors) allows us to examine the outside event that is causing us emotional pain, how that event is causing us emotional pain (is it challenging our belief systems? going against our expectations?), and then coming up with a solution that not only resolves the event, but enlightens us as to how to deal with a similar occurrence in the future that will mitigate the intensity of emotional pain again, for ourselves and for second parties - this builds emotional resiliency.
The more I ruminate on the things I learned in therapy, the more I begin to realize (way moreso with conservative/rightwing thinkers, but liberals/leftists can get into this too if they're not careful/thoughtful) that Outrage, Cancel Culture, Name-Calling, Morality Judgments, Cognitive Bias, Strawman arguments, etc. etc. etc. can reliably be chalked up to emotional dysregulation. Triggers (say, misgendering for trans folk, higher taxes for capitalists) are typically keywords or concepts that set off an emotional doomsday snowball-story in the triggered person's mind that makes them think that their very existence is under threat - this is what normally happens when debates/offenses get personal. Your mind tells you to fight (by obliterating the threat with name-calling or death threats, not just keeping it at arms' length), or to take flight (by shutting down the conversation via stonewalling), 'cuz if you don't, *YOU'RE GONNA DIE.* Which is ridiculous (unless you're a lawmaker, or being threatened by those wielding violent power, like cops or muggers), because words alone don't threaten the life of a human; it's these trigger words, these Big Red Panic Buttons in our minds, that set off a reactivity chain reaction in other people who don't have that emotional resiliency or aren't experienced in critical thinking.
If you wish to continue holding beliefs that can be classified as "right-wing," I personally do not agree with your beliefs and I will vote against them in elections and debate, but I'm fine with the act of you merely having them, because at the stage of merely having them, they alone don't threaten my life as somebody slowly becoming anti-capitalist/pro-socialist. But I can only ask that you keep in mind that, when you hear a left-wing, debunk-able opinion, the deliverers of those ideas are trying to deliver them in good faith, only challenging your held beliefs, not trying to literally control your life or your identity against your will *at the point of discussion.* Because after all, whether you re-examine your beliefs or double down on them is completely up to you - you are the one who wields power over yourself.

It's a layer of additional meaning that I'm not even sure was intended.

I don't have to watch all two hours of a flat-earth video or a Vitamin-C-Cures-Everything video to know I won't find any facts in them either--once they explain that I'm not really a Christian if I refuse to accept that the "Round-Earth Theory" is a Satanist plot, I can hit the pause button and go back to listening to music without any worries. And at least Flat-Earthers and Pauling's acolytes aren't advocating a system based on hatred and envy that caused more than 100 million deaths.
(Amusingly, I have better debates with flat-earthers than with socialists. Sure, they occasionally delve into ad hominems or psycho-analyzing, and they'll often jump to hilariously wrong conclusions mixed with a stubborn refusal to understand metaphors--but they're also more likely to try to put together a logical argument (even though they fail) or try to cite science (even when they badly misquote it, like Michaelson-Morley), but they're far, far less likely to devolve into schoolyard name-calling, vicious personal attacks, absolute water-is-not-wet lies, or I--know-you-are-but-what-am-I trolling.)

@Jim P Your comment demonstrates to me, that we have very different views of the world and trying to address every single difference would be quite time consuming and simultaneously, unlikely to change your mind on anything. So instead, I'd find it very helpful if you could specifically point out the ill constructed arguments that irritate you in this video. If you could be more specific with your criticism of the points made, a contructive discussion would be more likely.

    Hey man,
This video came up on my dash the other day, at almost exactly the same time that local fascists started a huge propaganda campaign: we're a uni town and there's stickers, flyers and posters all over the local campuses, just in time for the new crop of students to show up. I spent the day tearing them down, and getting the word out about it. It's been getting a real response, and other folks are going out there to help out.
I'm not sure I would've done it without this video. I had this idea that Antifa meant black block throwing punches and I didn't know if that was something I had the courage for. Realising that it could be more low-key and domestic was super cool: I tore down posters, and I did some organising. It wasn't exciting or glamorous, but it felt like good praxis and maybe it'll stop some impressionable kid going down the wrong path. I did antifascism, and it's because of you. Thanks, Olly!

I never thought I'd see this mentioned so widely. This event led to one of my best friends in HS committing suicide, as they were said student's partner. I remember vividly my boyfriend receiving the campus alert text while we were driving, marking the point when Scout had been gunned down. I had no idea how much my life, and the lives of almost all LGBT/Left/GA Tech and many others, would change. My grandpa had died a week earlier, and while my bf and I didn't know Scout, we were still shocked and confused. Many of my friends knew them very well, and had been involved in GA Tech's LGBT organization alongside Scout.
A few days later, my bf came home with the news that our friend had shot herself in her car less than an hour after walking into a gun show, and purchasing a shotgun. If gun control were a thing, they may have been made aware that she had many mental health issues. The winter following was one of the darkest times in my life, along with my bf. She was one of the first people I came out to, and my bf was her close friend. We all went to the same HS. Several friends of ours were arrested and received felony charges for the protests mentioned in the headline. Alongside all this was the early parts of the Trump presidency and the feeling like this was just the beginning. I'm glad things aren’t as bad as I expected, but I am forever changed. If punching racists, anti semites, Nazis and other generally bigoted people makes you uncomfortable or angry, you should really ask yourself why. If someone yelling "Kill all Jews" gets punched, they had it coming. Don't wanna get punched? Then don't say things like that, it's very simple.
In real life, not everyone is willing to have a conversation and learn about the things they don't understand. Some people won't stop til their ass gets beat. Just like bullies.

One should note the alt right murdering people for using free speech, eg, Charlottesville, makes it obvious that the cries of "leftists are censoring conservatives" is not true.

@@jeff86ing i am confused. Why do you believe confronting those who bully creates more bullies? If one condemns the synagogue shooting, eg, bowers, does that create more synagogue shooters?

id disagree personally, im harshly against fascism but i don't think the aim of antifascist action should be punishment towards the individual fascists. "Beating the fascism out of someone" doesn't really work because they're already convinced that we're the enemy. If I go and punch a fascist in the face, that's just gonna make them more against me. If I instead target the recruitment tools at their source, or otherwise intimidate fascists into not performing activism, we can reduce the appeal and popularity of fascism overall.

@@bruhgaming15meleeisSOCOOL ironically, that actually was done when they punched Richard Spencer, in that he was later ostracized for appearing weak. This then lead to them losing one of their more powerful recruiting tools.

@@regisglass5464 yeah i definitely agree that that was a good thing to have happened, i just think we shouldn’t have out motivation be so much about retribution or “giving someone what they deserve”.

that sucks, it can feel very lonely when the people who are supposed to share your mindset are nothing like you in terms of attitude. I have "radical" left-wing ideas but not radical ways! I will debate my family and people online but I've yet to go out on the streets or make an example out of anyone
also, while the thought of slapping a neo-nazi/fascist/white supremacist whatever is tempting, I think in real life, if I'm faced with an actual human being spouting hate and violence, I'm going to be more hurt than itching to hurt them back. It's just not in my nature, which is actually a pity since the people who want to wipe out me and my race are not going to feel that kind of hesitation anytime soon so I'm at a disadvantage already
