My grandmother called me today, told me what she thought of me living in my car. Wasnt good and I broke down after to my mom, they want me to do what I'm suppose to do. Rent a room and work and it's never worked, addictions been following me my whole life. It's been 2 months in my tiny little prius and I'm sober, I'm happy and I cant join this rat race again just to throw my money at someone for a roof under my head that I hate.
I feel you, the rat race, and being exploited by landlords and jobs is poisonous for alot of people (including me). I do it because I have to help my family and have alot of stuff.
Good for you. I broke away from my parents at age 18. I did not like being told what to do and when to do it. I moved into an apartment and was very independent. I got married and had 2 kids but got a divorce after 25 years. A lot happened. I am now ready to sell my house and go to Quartzite in a van or rv. I want to give it a try.
You have to do what makes you happy live your life because you only have one life to live or you only get One Life to Live why be like everybody else that's boring. The best life is a stress-free life where you can come and go as you please and like you said why pay money to live under a roof for your miserable. On the road you can go wherever do whatever you want whenever you want and you have very little worries

thanks bob for this great video. I have as of today given my 30 day notice to move out of my 1700 dollar a month apartment. I'm tired of working to pay rent for an apartment that I only use to watch tv and sleep in. you have been an inspiration and others who have followed this life style....so thank you.
Bob wish I had found your videos 20 years sooner I feel just like you my husband passed I sold our country home to a apartment that I could manage been so unhappy so I am thinking very serious about becoming a van homeowner my boys just have a fit when I mention it but they live their lives the way they want and I think I should too 👏🏻🙏🏻🇺🇸
When my dad retired (1970+/-) he became a nomad and lived in a 17' trailer till he passed away 30 yrs later. Congrats to 15 years, and I'm toasting you that you continue AT LEAST 15 more like my dear old dad.
We love you Bob. If it weren't for you and your advice, so many nomads would still be sitting in their own rocking chairs just watching the hours tick by. You have helped so many get out and on the road. Thank you for all you do for us. I hope to attend one of your RTR gatherings to meet you and other like minded people. You give me hope that someday I might be able to do this too.
It's so cool getting to know you and hear your story. I'm only 38 years old with a wife and 2 kids but you are seriously inspiring me to take a second look at life and how it can be lived.
I too have two children & have left 3,500 sq ft to live in a vintage travel trailer 196 sq ft with a home base where we have a 16 ft yurt 200 sq ft. Take the plunge and change your life, it’s so worth it.
@Mike Chandler Sea Fever BY JOHN MASEFIELD “I must down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky, And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by; And the wheel’s kick and the wind’s song and the white sail’s shaking, And a grey mist on the sea’s face, and a grey dawn breaking. I must down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied; And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying, And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying. I must down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life, To the gull’s way and the whale’s way where the wind’s like a whetted knife; And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow-rover, And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick’s over”. JOHN MASEFIELD has other poems as wel✌️l
Thank you Bob, I love your videos, especially the wonderful people you feature and the positivity you project. I am 61 and thinking seriously about taking up the nomad life.
Thank you for your openness…your words give me hope that one day soon I can do Vanlife. I was able to get a tiny van, a Honda Element but it has 375,000 miles on it and I have no savings and have just one month ago lost my job…. It looks scary…
I just got busted! Sitting here in my rocking chair, wore out from working overtime, feeling like my mail just got read. :) Great video! A voice inside whispering "someday".
Good for you for taking at least half the responsibility for your marriage break-up and for not grousing about giving your family half your income. So many men or women (used to be only men who paid child support but now women can be required to pay it if they are the main wage earner)complain about that. Living in a van might not be everyone's solution for an economical lifestyle but you have made it work and seem to be a happy guy too. Kudos!
It's looking like I am heading for a divorce. It's pretty much a certainty and as difficult as it will be, I will make the best of it. I watched this video a couple years ago, but I needed to rewatch it in order to give myself a "pep talk." I don't want to lose my wife, but I cannot remain where I am not wanted. Thanks for telling your story as it truly helps at a time like this. I will probably be moving to Nevada in my van within the next month. Good luck to everyone.
Love you bob. Im in the same problem as you did. My husband dont understand anything ive told him about the nomad life. Our money just disappear monthly. I have a small med. Soc.sec. check. We cant hardly eat now. No money to save. God bless you bob. Thank you for everything.
This video just popped up for me today. I’m listening to your words, Bob, and I’m just about in tears. Your life and mine echo each other in so many ways, and I feel that same itchiness in the feet of my soul - my soul’s soles, I guess you could say! I’ve been busy watching all your newer stuff for the last few months, along with a few others, and I’m thankful for everything I’ve found, all the helpful, wonderful people. Maybe I’ll find joy, too.
I love the way you think and say things! I used to say, the more room I had the more "shocking" I felt!! I just couldn't breath anymore!!. Totally the opposite of everybodyelse who never have enough room and always wants more!!! .Exactly because it is just a pure waste and I never knew what to do with the extra "empty" space I had! Now I am very happy in my 25' rv! No more waste of space and I have EVERYTHIN I NEED AND I WANT which is very little!!! Love it!❤
Your story about a second relationship struck me, I went through a very similar episode. I was downsizing, met a girl, moved into her home and within seconds we started role playing like we were married, ugh. I found myself mowing the lawn, doing repairs, blah blah blah and hated it. This isn't downsizing! I hopped back into the trap! Took a year to recognize what my feelings were and why I was SO unhappy, then I moved out. I don't feel so bad about it now that you have shared your story ;) So my rule is no more dating, unless all she owns is a dog and a sleeping bag.
but there's a good chance even her, her dog, her sleeping bag would get boring to you again - you are part of a huge trend in this world's thinking - that love relationships are supposed to deliver the sensations acted out in movies, TV and romance novels. In reality male/female love relationships were designed for us to be help-mates - that is to help meet one another's needs. You scratch my back I'll scratch yours but when one or both have wandering eyes looking for that ultimate thrilling feeling - like demonstrated falsely in the ads and movies then they look back at the same old partner and think, I'm not 'in love' start telling themselves they're bored not only with her/him but with their entire life. But, in reality that is falling into the temptation to fantasize that the grass is greener elsewhere. "Godliness with contentment is great gain."

I so agree with what you said about living in a house. I bought one and I'm now struggling to maintain it and pay the taxes. Much less having to mow a quarter of an acre at 73 years old. I'm in the process of getting it ready to sell and I'm going to buy a ProMaster!
Oh Bob, I love the color of the paneling! So many people seem to go with dark woods and colors in conversions, which always seems dreary to me. Your place is looking very cheery, and you've gotten so much done already. You must be on a mad tear to get done. I wish you much happiness in your continuing journey in your new rig.
Bob, I'm watching this video right now. You mentioned that you don't understand why you have trouble living in a house, spending your time and money maintaining the house, and just get "itchy feet." I want you to consider reincarnation. Your soul has lives many lives, and has learned from them. Listen to your soul and you will continue to be happy.
Thank you for your video thank you for your video I'm 67 years old I'm just saying my rocking chair in front porch and I'm tired sitting in the same place you make a lot of sense

I have been following you for years and I love you more for being so frank and honest. Wish you all the best and thank you you make my life a better place.
I love this video. I'm currently in a sticks and bricks. Even though I'm disabled and am saving for a box truck that can be built out and has a wheelchair lift and room for my moterized wheelchair and hospital bed and solar to run my medical equipment I need. I can't wait for the day that I can move into a home on wheels that I can pick up and go where I want and when I want. Thank you for this video. The thing that keeps me going while I have to live in the sticks and bricks is knowing that in the next 2 to 3 years at the most I will be joining the nomads life. I can't wait. I have a coffee cup that says it all. My favorite person is my dog. Thank you for all your videos that help keep me focused on the main goal of escaping the sticks and bricks and becoming a nomad.
I love you Bob!!! Thank you for sharing your life. I can so identify with many aspects of your life. I am paying of debt so I too can become a nomad and live a fulfilled free life. 👍💖
Thank you for the information. Now I'm no longer at a loss of what to do when I step-out in faith to a new life for myself. Your experience can teach a lot of people how to live without ending up on the streets in the cold without shelter. Keep the videos coming....
Dang, Bob. I am so stinkin' proud of you in your mission and in your raw honesty. When I discovered your channel, it was immediately apparent what you're doing for so many. RARELY has any Man been so successful in Life. Truth. Well done, kid. Well done.
Thanks Bob. This came at the right time for me. I've been trying to decide if I should take a full-time job. Most people say "yes!" since I'm only 55 and not ready for social security yet. But I do have enough money to get by if I'm pretty careful. Hearing you talk about FREEDOM made me realize that I don't want to spend 5 days out of 7 at a job even if I enjoy it and I could save a lot of money if I took it. It's not worth losing those days. Our days are limited and I can see that even more as I get older. So thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me to make a decision.
This is most inspirational. I live in the Bay Area where prices are insane. I'm thinking of joining the Nomad Lifestyle. Thanks ever so much for posting.
Bob, this is a wonderful video. No need for you to regret anything about your past. All of us have journeys full of growth, and you really can't succeed without some failures. This is very inspirational. Thank you so much for posting it.
This is very inspirational! I bit the bullet and bought a van about a month before the coved 19-84 BS hit. I spentthat lockdown period building it out every weekend and after work ( i still retained my job full time). Its been finished for a while now, and just tweaking , and adding items such as a solar generator, spare parts nd supplies. I recently bought a new laptop so i can organise life on the road, and find work opportunities. Almost ready to leave on a long adventure, despite the wailing fuel prices. I am certainly looking forward to lower overheads and more leisure time!
well Bob. I watched your whole video and we'll I did enjoy it. I will be interested in watching how your build progresses. Thanks for taking the time. cheers mate.
It took me about 25 video’s to finally find your story. Enjoyed them all and looking forward to seeing them all and when I’m done probably see many of them again. This lifestyle/attitude/outlook really strikes a chord with me and I had no idea this existed. Thank you for being so candid and sharing such great details and information. The more I watch the more I see that the common thread these people have is that sense of community and and sharing that make for a better world for all. I read this quote in the without Bounds video that really spoke to me... If you are lucky enough to find a way of life you love... you have to find the courage to live it. -John Irving
Thanks for sharing Bob! My dream was to travel in an RV with my wife once we retired. We made it a couple of years and my wife was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s. She no longer wanted to RV. I’m stuck now in the rocking chair slowly wasting away as her caregiver..... We sold our class A RV and lost a huge amount of money. Your followers should seize the moment while they can....You never know what life can throw at you....
Love this video! Finally heard your story. Happy for you! Thanks for sharing! Sorry for the sadness, but you Had to experience to grow and learn What Is Right for you. Thanks for what you now do!
Wooooo!!! Happy anniversary! 15 years and still goin strong :) Loved hearing your story and getting to hear about the beginnings of your journey. The talking videos may be long, but they're super enjoyable. Can't wait to see the van. Cheers :D
Bob, you are an awesome soul and i thank you dearly for the uplifting videos that you have out there...thank you for being the free spirited person that you are! My hubby and i will be headed out there again. Hope to see you out there on the road! Love, Light, & Laughter!!
Awesome video! I left the Alaskan bush in 95 after raising and homeschooling my kids in the bush as a single parent for 12 yrs. I wanted freedom and no bills so it worked for 12 yrs. Just got lonely with only kids to relate with. Came to Oregon and after building and living in my tiny house for yrs. sold it to live in my van i bought last year. Cheers to a life of freedom and nature.
Joni Loverin Wow, that is awesome? Do you stay in Oregon? I lived in Portland for a year in 2013, and I'm leaving Arizona in November when my lease is up, and I am considering buying a small piece of land and parking a van on it. Such a beautiful state! Curious if you have left it, because it's a difficult place to leave.
Love the video, it reminds me of my favorite Winnie the Pooh quote: "It's a long story...and even longer when I tell it." I love to listen to/see your stories so go ahead and make them longer!
When you said that your faith in God disappointed you, I feel like maybe, since God knows our hearts, He showed you that van in Alaska and lead you to where you are today; you are helping others. You are helping me, and even though I won't be able to be a nomad the way you are on the road, I am in my heart and in little 'stick and brick' with my animals. Very happy and frugal and out of the rat race. Who knows, I might travel a bit, but my animals need a home and I am happy to oblige them. May God bless you!
Well Bob...You have certainly opened my eyes to what life could be for me....aged 67, 2 marriages gone...two grownup kids and a stuck in one room house share with great guys but would love to be free of this and have the freedom to get a van and just go go go.....but due to health reasons am just slightly scared to go it alone.....but I admire your strength and guts doing what you and many others are doing.... am in UK so not sure I would be brave enough but I can dream....Thank you for sharing this great video .... you are a lovely guy and I hope you enjoy many more wonderful nomad times....God bless XXX
I just absolutely cannot imagine working at a grocery store or anything like that for 35 years, I am 19 and am about to lose my mind in a job after close to 1 year. From the time I was a child I knew exactly that I wanted to travel. I literally dreamed about leaving earth and going into space to never return my entire life, I always knew I would and could never exist just to make someone else money working somewhere like that. Over the years those dreams were suffocated by schools and society telling me, being an astronaut is only for the best, you'll fail if you don't go to college and get a day job, things like that and the only time I was truly enjoying life to the fullest was when I was traveling with my parents. We first traveled across the us but never farther west that the dakotas. We eventually began to travel to puerto Escondido, Mexico and Roatan Honduras. These were some of the best times of my entire life, it was more than travel, it was living. I eventually got a job and went to college. I made it through about 4 months of college until. I got so depressed that I could not go on. I dropped out, and kept working part time at FedEx, during the day I was free and was having adventures every day and weekend. This was amazing and I had an electric car so had very few bills. During this time I was renting a garage loft from my parents and after a few months my father came to me and said I would have to leave if I did not get a full time job. I am 17 at this point. I eventually was forced into a factory job that a cousin worked at and was working 10 hour shifts a day. I again got ferociously depressed and my anxiety was unlike what I had ever experienced and I was diagnosed as anxiety depression disorder. The factory eventually went under new ownership, and they ran it into the ground. We were all laid off and I was without work. I was spending my days outside for the few weeks and enjoying freedom. Eventually my father and I came back around to the same impasse. "Get a full time job, or get out." I eventually got a job at sprint, now 19, thinking I might enjoy a job where I have conversations might give me less of a sense of being cooped up. This has made it much, much worse. Over these years I have grown very very fond of cars, which I believe was a subconscious thing to get my mind away, and have became extremely fond of German cars. I eventually used my inheritance to by a brand new dream car of mine, a Volkswagen GTI as loaded and exactly as close to my vision as possible. I tuned it up and modified it, all while still 19 and continued to get more and more into Volkswagen and Audi cars, old and new. This eventually led me to get a mk1 gti to restore. After searching for and finding this car, I eventually stumbled across a Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia. I instantly was in love and began to look up videos about these hoping to purchase one. I ran across more and more videos of people camping in them and then finally found videos of the Vandwellers. Finally after years of being in a mundane haze of everyday 9-5 life my wanderlust was sparked back to life and I began researching all the vans and cars and minivans people were using to create a life in wheels. I then came across the Don of van dwelling, Bob. All the information I wanted and needed I could and did get from you. I recently purchased a Ford E-350 15 passenger shuttle bus, I am currently awaiting the sale of my dream car which I am not awaiting with excitement, I deeply care for it and hate the fact of someone else owning it but it is what will be funding my van conversion and my life on wheels until I am at a point where I will need money again, I am already happier and my only regret is not doing this sooner. I hope to meet you in person someday so I can properly thank you, but even then I will not be able to thank you enough.
Wow--where will you head first Doom? Remember that as you age you will change ---One of the most important things my father taught me was: this too shall pass.
jaim haas didn't realize I still had doom guy as my name 😂 first after I finish my van, I'm going up to the Wichita Mountains because it is only a few hours away, it will be a test run to work out the kinks in my methods and it is a place I am familiar enough with that I can't get in too much trouble.
Hey, UndeadKennedy Be bold ..Explore & experience.. live the dream, as oppposed to just driving it. I'm thrilled for you. I once drove my sons VW Golf to see how fast I could go. Opened it up to about 110 on a country road in South Seattle. You're passing on the blessing of that dream car to another. Great decision to pusrue lifelong adventure ~ "To infinity & beyond" my young friend!!! Shalom, Zoë
🌙 I hope your doing great! You are definitely a free spirit, follow your heart we only get a few years if we are lucky to enjoy this life, don’t waste it on the rat race, safe travels 😁
Wow. Watching your videos has been a total eye opener for me. I am not a f#?k up because I can't buy into the cookie cutter house and mortgage...there are others out there like me! TY TY TY! Better late than never at almost 60. Looking forward to meeting you on the road! Thanks!
Thank you for being so honest, Bob. Wonderful that you've found what makes you happy....actually what is real for you. I had a good laugh and insight, the other day when I googled, "Introvert vs. extrovert." Took a couple tests. Both said I was 89%/92% in the "need for space" classification. We are all some introverted and some extroverted but usually, one more than the other. It's really fun to take the tests. I learned that most of us do not understand these terms and often use them wrong. Introvert does not equal shy.....that's a beginning. I really liked your talk. Lots of emotions in that short talk. Congrats on you being you.
Happy 15 year anniversary! And thank you for being candid about how you got where you are. I always appreciate your perspective and honesty. Thank you for sharing Bob.
Wow. What a way with words you have. It gives me goosebumps to come across people who knows themselves, amongst all those device zombies who have no idea who they are. Very inspiring, Bob. Keep up the good work.
I found your story especially interesting because it flies in the face of the values most of us have been convinced of. Every time you turn on the TV or pick up a magazine, you get the same message: if you want to be happy, accumulate, buy, more, more, more! Buy a bigger house. Buy more stuff to put in it. Then replace that stuff with better stuff. You end up spending almost all your time just amassing and maintaining stuff, stuff, stuff, and wondering why you're not happy yet.
DwightMS1 Have you ever watched any of the TH-cam videos on hoarders? I would have thought those docs fairly dover dramatized had I not worked in a profession where I spent lots of time in new Millennium households but it is just as real in North America as it is on the Hoarder documentary from the UK - it has become more than being slaves to stuff as you speak of in your comment but also a serious mental illness. I believe there will be a massive change in the way humans life in the next decade - imagine what this new horrendous hurricane on the Florida Panhandle will mean for thousands more people - ruination after ruination by natural disaster will completely change what we think of possessions - probably, will be better if we are forced to stop amassing useless s_ _ _!!
Wow......what passion. I miss traveling in an RV or step van or whatever I owned at the time. Was on the road every weekend all over the north east. Worked shows, flea markets, street fairs, craft shows, festivals, and pow wow's. And loved it for about 25yrs. But I need a home base. A place I own to come back to when I want. Retired now and don't do much because of age and health. Still have a Class B motor home and a 14ft cargo trailer, kayak, and a Harley. Live on a lake in NY State, all paid for. I really need to load up and hit the road for a while. Before its too late and I can't do anything. Loved your video. Thanks
dabprod I need to pick your brain! I've just retired and am entertaining selling my house in the city, moving to a cabin upstate near a lake enjoying my crafting or buying a vehicle I could travel and visit the national parks, following jazz festivals, pow wows, kite festivals, etc. Reading your comment made me realize, maybe it's not an either/or choice, maybe I could do both! Would you mind sharing some of the routes or circuits you traveled in and around New York?
Thanks for everything you do, you have helped to inspire myself and others to try van life. I use to be afraid of the stigma of people thinking I live out of a van (even though I don't full-time) until I ran into your channel and from there discovered a whole culture of people. I stopped caring what ignorant people think about van or vehicle dwelling.
Great video! Reason - if you find it, it will give the happiness - and if we encounter hardship, there might be reason also in it... You just learn better of misfortunes than an easy and fortunate living. And, you don't get so old if new ideas keep flowing all time!
Bob congrats on the 15 yr life change! I wouldn't say "long winded"...I enjoyed every 26.5 minutes, but I was able to fly my kite while I watched! (shared sense of humor for sure) I too am 40 yrs retired Lucky/Albertsons and I counted my pension pennies every day. My van build out is only on paper now (damn second job) but your videos are the inspiration to keep drawing! Sir you are Lord of the land or "landlord" as you put it! Now where did I put the clicker?
I feel this way at 46, and have for a few years. I'm getting my class c ready, have a few bucks, and will head out in a couple weeks. No, I don't have a monthly retirement to live on. But, I can't stand this mortar/brick any longer. Feels like a prison. Like others have said, stuff owns you! Yes, I will continue to work; but what, when, where, and how will hopefully be my call. So, I HAVE to have faith in God. There's no way I can do this or anything else without His guidance.
Love the new glasses! I’m glad to hear you’re doing an upgrade on your van, for you. So many people have your story. Living your life is a dream of many. Thank you for educating us Bob. I appreciate how very real you are❗️
Bob Wells. you are an absolute inspiration to me. I have watched your videos and watched "Without Bound". I love the dedication you have to help others experience the freedom you enjoy. I have been living in a warehouse for nearly 4 years where I work. I have a fridge, toaster oven, microwave. I work part time for the owner of this business plus free-lance for others. The van life is my goal, and you have educated me more than anyone, although I have learned from some others on TH-cam. I thank you and appreciate you for all you do to help liberate people from the American Nightmare. Long Life And Health To You!!! I will continue to receive your knowledge and wisdom...Greg.
You cannot imagine how your philosophy talk resonated with me. I have moved around my whole life, which I enjoyed, but always worked high-stress jobs in law firms which was not good for my mental health. Now I'm OLD, but I still have enough energy to hit the road and really enjoy my retirement without the constant worrying about money and maintaining my sticks and bricks. Peope will think I'm crazy, but I will rely on your videos (and many others) for knowledge and encouragement. Thanks for all your unbelievably valuable videos!

It is great to say that I love my life. There are a lot of people who never love their lives no matter how rich they are.

Being rich doesn't make you happy. Having enough and not worrying about money is the key.
Having too much stuff make me stressed.

What a great quote!
Bob ,you are a VERY honest man. Thankyou for tell us, and helping us get through life as a nomad!!!!
It's so cool getting to know you and hear your story. I'm only 38 years old with a wife and 2 kids but you are seriously inspiring me to take a second look at life and how it can be lived.
Mike Kincaid same we have two kids and would love to live this life
I too have two children & have left 3,500 sq ft to live in a vintage travel trailer 196 sq ft with a home base where we have a 16 ft yurt 200 sq ft. Take the plunge and change your life, it’s so worth it.
Mike Kincaid I am 45. Like you. Thinking the EXACT same thing!
Me too bro, have a wife and 2 boys, but i honestly wanna live in a camper build by me in my ford ranger, any advice outthere?
I have a wife and 3 kids. Sometimes I wish I could just jump in a van and travel with complete freedom.
"I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky, And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by"
Hello, can you tell me where this quote is from?
@Mike Chandler
Sea Fever
BY JOHN MASEFIELD
“I must down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by;
And the wheel’s kick and the wind’s song and the white sail’s shaking,
And a grey mist on the sea’s face, and a grey dawn breaking.
I must down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.
I must down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life,
To the gull’s way and the whale’s way where the wind’s like a whetted knife;
And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow-rover,
And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick’s over”.

Love you Bob you are an inspiration!
Jesse B how are you how 2 years later?
Don't endure 'til the end.
Kudos!
letsgettyup it was absolutely fair that my ex receive half my income during that time.
Glad you found what makes you happy riverman!
I want to be a nomad so bad,,,,,ive been thinking about it for a few months now but i dont know what to tell my woman and my 2 boys? Some one help??
but there's a good chance even her, her dog, her sleeping bag would get boring to you again - you are part of a huge trend in this world's thinking - that love relationships are supposed to deliver the sensations acted out in movies, TV and romance novels.
@@gixxergang802 you cannot leave your two boys. It will destroy them. Sometimes you have to put your dreams on hold. Please wait until they are up and out on their own and then you can go on your mission
i have both :) i can walk away from everything else.
Bob you are so honest so genuine a gentleman
I so agree with what you said about living in a house. I bought one and I'm now struggling to maintain it and pay the taxes. Much less having to mow a quarter of an acre at 73 years old. I'm in the process of getting it ready to sell and I'm going to buy a ProMaster!
Gaines B. 👍🏻any updates?
I can't tell you how much I appreciate you, love you, and look up to you ❤
Thanks Bob...
I enjoyed your story, Bob. I'm looking forward to meeting you someday.
Thank you for your video thank you for your video I'm 67 years old I'm just saying my rocking chair in front porch and I'm tired sitting in the same place you make a lot of sense
I get to retire at 50 with a pension, and I am so looking forward to it! I want a van or an RV and to either live in it full time or at least travel most of the time, since I do own a house (with a
Need to ask, how do you get your mail, prescriptions, banking, etc. Am starting to look at class c, any suggestions?....Judie
Hi, update please? How far away is 50? It would be nice to meet you on the road
@@mkechandler5776 Hi, it's still pretty far off, but my job is remote now so I'm looking into purchasing a van for longer trips. Still not quite ready to go full time, unless I sell my house.
@@txLALA well according to your profile pic that makes more sense lol. I recently sold my house (to my mom and her wife) and paid it off for them and went on the road, nearing two months now. If its in your heart you'll find a way. After nearly 6 years in a corporate job I thought was a blessing I see now that it was not at all. I look forward to meeting you on the road. Hmu to stay in touch on our journey
@@txLALA you should sell your house 😉
What I would miss the most is my garage and my garden. I LOVE to tinker and love to garden.
Thank you Bob for sharing your personal story with us.
Then Came Bronson---the original Nomad. Still love that show to this day.
I have been following you for years and I love you more for being so frank and honest. Wish you all the best and thank you you make my life a better place.
Happy Van Anniversary, Bob!
Downsized to a renovated tiny house 2 years ago and LOVE it!
The heck with "stuff"!
Amen!
Thanks Bob. Appreciate you telling your story.
Thank you for the information. Now I'm no longer at a loss of what to do when I step-out in faith to a new life for myself. Your experience can teach a lot of people how to live without ending up on the streets in the cold without shelter. Keep the videos coming....
Amazing to come across this 5 year old video today. Guess this makes an even 20 years as a nomad. Happy anniversary!
There are persons that enlight the way, call them angels whatever you like, but you're one of them. Hope we will have you for a long, long time.
What a kind thing to say!
Dang, Bob. I am so stinkin' proud of you in your mission and in your raw honesty. When I discovered your channel, it was immediately apparent what you're doing for so many. RARELY has any Man been so successful in Life. Truth. Well done, kid. Well done.
So grateful to have found your channel. THANK YOU for this video!! It really spoke to me.
Thank you for your story and honesty. I appreciate your earnestness and always trying to help people live the good life. 🙏🏻
Wow - what a great story, Bob! Kudos to you for having the passion for fulfilling your dream. And mega-kudos to you for sharing that story with us!
You are an inspiring person. You are my Guru. You are one of the most spiritual person i have ever seen
Bob, this is a wonderful video. No need for you to regret anything about your past. All of us have journeys full of growth, and you really can't succeed without some failures. This is very inspirational. Thank you so much for posting it.
Totally agree!
Great video and it was so nice to hear your full story. 😄👍Thank you for sharing!!!😉👍Enjoy your new van!!! 👍😉💓😄🚐
Thanks Bob, I appreciate your honesty. I have enjoy your channel very much.
Love this video! Finally heard your story. Happy for you! Thanks for sharing! Sorry for the sadness, but you Had to experience to grow and learn What Is Right for you. Thanks for what you now do!
You're a great story teller, Bob. I was mesmerized. Thanks for sharing some of your personal life with us. Very inspiring!
Love, Light, & Laughter!!
you're 15yrs ahead of your time Bob!! Thanks for your inspiring videos!!
Happy 15th year VANniversay Bob. That's a heck of a story you got there. Thanks for sharing😃
Wow, what a story! Thanks for sharing your story. It's nice to see that I'm not the only one who have that same nomad life desire.
Congrats on the anniversary! Can't wait to see the van build completed!
I love ur story! I have always wanted to live a gypsy life.
I live near a gypsy camp and had childhood friends.
Hello Bob, thank you for sharing. I am considering becoming a nomad.I just need to stop being afraid. Again, thank you.
I think God has blessed you with so much and you are very good with other people living the nomadic life
Personal tragedies are a good source of inspiration to get the hell out of Dodge---I think many of us could benefit from a fresh start.
thank you Bob for sharing your great story of survival and how you found what you need
I am getting closer each day. I already teach Wilderness living skills and Survival. This is along those lines. Thank You
When you said that your faith in God disappointed you, I feel like maybe, since God knows our hearts, He showed you that van in Alaska and lead you to where you are today; you are helping others.
Thank you for your kind words Tara, I am indeed where I belong. I wish you and your animals all the best.
If you are ever in Eastern Oregon near Baker City, I'll bring you some fresh eggs from my "girls"....
Bob, I'm glad you've finally found joy. One day I may do the same.
Thank You for sharing your story.,and good luck with your New Van.xx
another great video Bob! keep on trucking! Dave!
Thank you for sharing your story about how to become a nomad. I love the wall panels in your Van!
I smile with every video of yours that I watch.....THANK YOU!'
I am not familiar with that area--where is that? nearest city ? I am near Chicago.
Hey, UndeadKennedy
Be bold ..Explore & experience.. live the dream, as oppposed to just driving it.

🌙 I hope your doing great! You are definitely a free spirit, follow your heart we only get a few years if we are lucky to enjoy this life, don’t waste it on the rat race, safe travels 😁
I just think your honesty and openness in this video is touching. Be so proud of yourself.
Wow. Watching your videos has been a total eye opener for me. I am not a f#?k up because I can't buy into the cookie cutter house and mortgage...there are others out there like me! TY TY TY! Better late than never at almost 60. Looking forward to meeting you on the road! Thanks!
Thank you, Bob ! Your videos always make so much sense..... :)
Thanks for letting us get to know the life you've lived. I look forward to meeting you someday.
Congrats on your 15 anniversary, new van looking good, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the History of your life. Glad to see you made it to your happy place!
Bob I Think you are awesome !!!!!!
Thanks for sharing Bob. In your next life, sign up to join the navy. I can see you exploring the new world with Captain Cook.
Now where did I put the clicker?
thank you for being such a positive and inspiring influence in the world
I feel this way at 46, and have for a few years.
I appreciate how very real you are❗️
Another wonderful video Bob! Thanks for running through your story & being so honest.
Bob Wells. you are an absolute inspiration to me.
This is why man devotes himself to the sea or flying or nomadism.
Thanks Bob. Keep on doing what you do best...
Thanks for watching Craig!
Love, Love, Love your story. The best I have ever heard.
