Coming from Chicago on a western road trip this past summer was very interesting. Hands down the most beautiful, expansive, and amazing state I have been to!
Another great video! Wyoming is a beautiful state, but good to mention having an emergency kit. I was going through the state on a major state highway and only saw about 3 cars in 3 hours. If you broke down at night, it might get lonely! But absolutely beautiful!
I absolutely fell in love with Wyoming after working there for one week, 2 years ago! I've been wanting to live there ever since! My family and I will be relocating to Wyoming this June!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We can't wait!!!
I visited there last week in Gillette and its wonderful. I'm from SoCal and its a big day and night difference. Even the peace and quiet and space you can actually have. My family and I plan to move and it'll be on time for Independence Day, which I hear the town celebrates really well for.
YES! The prettiest place I've ever been in the States, I love Wyoming! The buffalo vs bison bit, LOL.... loved the video and also the baby with the hat, thanks Nick!!
Wyoming has LOTS of trains. From Cheyenne to Evanston is the mainline of the Union Pacific. South of Gillette in the Powder River Basin is the Coal Line. Both are VERY busy railroads.
There are no guns here. Lost them all in that boating mishap awhile back🤔. Also no need to move here it sucks. Of course unless you bring more guns, oh and don't forget the whiskey 🥰
It’s incredible I moved here from NJ. I believe living here has made me a better person and has shaped me as a person a lot. When there is certain environmental challenges and not everything is convenient it makes life a little more interesting and rewarding. Also when people say there’s no jobs or nothing to do they’re full of crap. I have a lot more opportunities here to do what I enjoy and I have more of a future here as young person than I would in a state like NJ where the average cost of living is exponentially higher. I also enjoy more freedom here than I would in any other place I’ve lived I totally understand the wariness of out of staters but people here are generally kind and quick to “let you in” and be supportive if you show interest in actually living the lifestyle.
@@nicholas104 He has not done North Dakota, South Dakota, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, Alaska, Hawaii and Delaware. There are probably more that I forgot.
I'm also a Wyomingite, in Cheyenne! I cant disagree with most of what's said, I can add that with the gas and coal not doing so well the politicians have a bill and are looking into legalizing perhaps, but as you said it's really Republican here, but it's amazing they would consider it. The people here are typically nice and helpful. And you're dang right about that wind, it can get up to hurricane force 60+ mph, it never goes away but just decreases in the summer lmfao And you forgot to mention our hot springs, Thermopolis! P.s I worked at the landfill out of town, they had professional golf course netting to keep the trash where it belongs, the wind destroyed it in a few months, it was supposed to last years
Thanks for mentioning the hot springs! My family went there once because my grandmother was going at least once a week to the Worland center. It had an indoor pool fed by the mineral water that was supposed to be good for your health.

You should have mentioned the infamous winter of 1949 in Wyoming -- one of the worst in US history. Much of the state was burried in snow and inaccessible for months.
They did close the city. I'm highly aware there has been far worse snow storms, with much more snow. This is only a bad snow storm compared to recent years. Hasn't snowed like this since I was a child, really. I've been joking that it was a snow apocalypse, a snow-calypse if you will lmfao but this storm really wasnt anything compared to snowstorms the pioneers had, or the ones in the mountains for that matter.
Or the storm we had a few years back, first time the schools here actually closed since the storm of 49. That was interesting to say the least. I couldn’t leave the house, let alone the driveway.
"stuck in traffic" cattle drive, sheep herding, or animal crossing. Unless you live in Casper or Cheyenne than see original definition. Also the four seasons. Winter, late winter, road construction, hunting. In order these are: late winter, road construction, hunting (some say early winter), and winter.

I drove through Wyoming and I am from south Florida. I fell in love with the views in Wyoming. Planning on going back to stay for a visit, even been looking into buying land.
I moved to Naples, FL back in 2016. I came here from Ohio and now I'm watching videos and daydreaming about moving to Wyoming 😂. I love it down here in Florida but it's getting to crowded.
I drove across Wyoming on I-80 once, back in 2002. That’s when I learned that if you hit a tumbleweed at 70 MPH in a 1975 Chrysler Cordoba, it just explodes into a puff of little sticks.
Yes and no. Yes more people die from being killed by cattle than drive by shootings, even though more people are armed. I do think there are just as many churches as there are bars in most towns. But low crime, low taxes, high wages, decent schools make Wyoming a damn good place to live.
You nailed it on the head really, lived here my whole life, and yea I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else, love the map too, very accurate. Great job man.
When I drove alone from Utah through Evanston to Grand Teton last summer, I absolutely loved it! For miles and I was the only car and no cell phone reception. A little scary for a single gal but mostly it was exciting, peaceful, fun and so beautiful! Talk about an introvert’s paradise! I fell in love with just that little part and I can’t wait to explore the rest. I’m a travel nurse now so I hope to work in Cheyenne or Cody and hopefully find a place I’d like to call home someday.
I’m a male from Louisiana that’s looking to move to Wyoming. I worked in Cheyenne at the refinery in 2019 but didn’t get to see much while I was there. I’m going back next month for a week or two and I also want to see the grand Tetons and the elk herds while I’m there.
When I was a teen, we called it radio free Wyoming because of the distance between stations, now it's no-bars (cell) Wyoming. The last time I drove through southern WY it was literally 45 minutes at 65 MPH before I saw another vehicle. Heaven help you if you break down out there! Being of a slightly liberal lean, I've learned to only discuss surface stuff in public places. To this day, if someone askes how far somewhere is I say how long it takes to get there, funny, I thought everyone did that.

Great song too for Wyoming, as well with previous states.. I'm a fan! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I'd totally move there. I'm sick of hearing about people's ''lifestyles'' or identities. I'm sure they mind their own business and expect you to mind yours in Wyoming. And I am damn sure I'll never be aggressively told to state my pronouns in Wyoming.
I imagine if you bring that all up in rural Wyoming, they won't even know there was a pronoun and identity discussion all over the USA. Now that would be awesome.
Grew up in Wyoming. Great place to be from. But there's no opportunity there, and the state isn't doing anything to brace for the inevitable energy industry crash. You can't rely on coal and oil forever. Diversification is essential for the people of this state. Just look to West Virginia for what's in store if everything remains status quo.
Its basicly impossible for oil to crash it makes too much. We have people pushing in legislation for crypto and we have block chain research. No one talks about that tho because wyoming is a place to be left alone and federal government doesn't like crypto.
Just when I was deciding to move to Montana or Wyoming...Nick sends out this unboxing. Watching this video with my Mappy Mug. Mappy helps in making great life decisions.
I live in Northern Colorado just 55 minutes from Cheyenne and so I drive up to Wyoming fairly often with Prius with Colorado plates. Oh! That explains the dirty looks I get!
Great delivery of the facts. I love living here, but yeah, it is a little more rough and tumble, the shopping sucks, and you can get boring fast if you can’t make your own hobbies. That said, I wouldn’t change it for the world.
The amount of work is questionable and what you are looking to do. If you’re okay with heavy labor jobs then you’ll be okay but the remaining options are slim to none.
This is hilarious! I live in upstate NY now but grew up in Northern Colorado. We felt the same way when we saw Wyoming license plates on I-25! Usually, some big pick up with 4 people in the front seat, all wearing cowboy hats, and a gun rack in the window.
It’s interesting reading the comments about Wyoming and Wyomingites. I’ve been here 29 years and lived in the south east end of Wyoming. About to actually move honestly. Also, in the video at 20:50 Holland explains Wyoming the most realistic and respectful way.
FWIW I am a tech lead in a startup, and I love it here. I grew up in three major Canadian cities and it always felt like my options were shrinking and everything was getting more expensive while also getting worse. Cheyenne is a proper city with amenities, and I love that the broad public knows guns and speech, and respects the constitution whether or not the feds do.
I grew up in Rock Springs. As an Asian, I had to pretend to be an Indian to avoid being harassed and bullied. In RS HS, we had the Chicanos, Cowboys, the Jocks and then few Heads. But the keggers were very memorable. We also camped and hunted a lot. Western Wyoming is very pretty and caters to outdoors enthusiasts (Big Piney, Pinedale, Dubois). The night skies are simply amazing there. But the wind will drive you crazy as I don't recall a day without wind.
I grew up in Wyoming....I moved to Dallas several years ago. Talk about going from the frying pan to the fire....in more ways than one...I miss home so much!
As an Englishman, I found this video really interesting! I’d love to visit the state and stay on a ranch for a few weeks and do some horse trekking. It seems like somewhere where you can completely disconnect from modern life. Thank you very much for making the effort to make this video!
I had a friend that had always told that Wyoming didn't exist. For the longest time I didn't believe him. But, then after a lot of deep thought and soul searching, I asked myself, hey....umm....do I know anyone that's from Wyoming? It all hit me so fast all at once. Wyoming.....doesn't exist. I'm trying these days to enlighten people to the truth now, all of use truthers are.

I moved to Wyoming 10 years ago to get out of the rat race. I bought an old Texaco station and turned it into a car repair shop. Everything is here that I need but I have to drive for it. I have never been harassed by anyone, and we've never had a trick or treater or a missionary at our door. I live 4 miles from a large lake where I fish about once a week and I have no plans to move. I will buy a burial plot in this town of 650 someday. I Love Wyoming!!

You forgot to at least mention Cheyenne Frontier Days. Not only is it famously iconic, but it is a major source of revenue for the city of Cheyenne. So much so that the reserve money saved from Frontier Days was vital to the economy when it was canceled due to COVID. Wyoming’s a great state, especially for the outdoors. The thing about Greenies is they like to sort of take over the lakes and reservoirs in the Southeast corner. Bottom line: if you play nice when you visit Wyoming, there won’t be any trouble.

I was wondering where all the Cali plates were going. It's a quick drive to Iowa; I drove my U-Haul from a stop in Des Moines to Cheyenne in one day, when I moved here. Hope you're well, and back soon to recover from the PTSD you'll pick up in Chicago.
My husband went to Jackson, Wyoming in July. A worker from the Snake Grill told him cost of life is becoming to expensive. People starting to move out to small towns because living close by a mayor city is difficult to afford.
I’m a Cheyenne resident, there are quite a few tech companies i the Cheyenne area. Microsoft has a data center here, and a second is planned to start construction. Echostar is located east of cheyenne, they employ close to 200 people, Walmart and Lowe’s have distribution centers, UPRR, Frontier refinery all employ lots of people. Wyoming gives lots of opportunities.
I live in Southern Montana and love visiting Wyoming. The people are great and the men hold the door for you and call you Mam. It's get very cold, lots of wind and snow. It's better than being in NYC. Cody WY has great rodeos.
They complain about it, but, if it weren’t for Colorado, Wyoming’s economy would be about half as big as it is. There is a reason why they advertise Wyoming in the Denver area so much. People from Wyoming have no idea as to what it’s like to be invaded by people from another state where they actually move in to stay, not just to build a cabin, or stay in a hotel for a few nights. It is a nice place to visit though. Go if you can. It really exists, people are very nice and it’s beautiful. If they actually had an economy that would support more than four industries, I might live there.
@@ahuehuete4703 Cheyenne is great. But I don't want it to grow to big. The more Colorado and Texas plate I see, the more I worry. Visit, but that's all.
@@joanndegiorgio647 Since I've been alive, people in Colorado have always said the same thing about Texans and started saying that about Californians about 25 years ago. In reality, people are moving here from everywhere. I hope Wyoming can maintain what it has, but there are several things that will probably kill it. Tourism dollars are a gift and a curse. People show up, spend their money and they leave at first because their jobs are somewhere else. However, they realize how nice it is and then they want to stay. Then they and the business leaders in your community figure out how to make that possible, and they start moving in. The only way to get away from it is to move somewhere nobody wants to live, and there's a reason nobody wants to live in those places.

Fun!

Hi Nick. Great video as always. Being a Wyoming gal, I find it funny how we get such a bad rap, but at least we have clean air! Love ya'🤗👍✌️
I can’t wait to see Wyoming ... the scenery is breath taking ...
Love ya too! ❤️
We're almost done I think. It's fun seeing the US States unboxed! Didn't you say you were doing Cities next? Whatever you do, I can't wait!

Totally underrated and very beautiful state. Bet there's lots of tourism jobs at Yellowstone and the grand Teton.
A lot of Wyomingites absolutely get livid online whenever we see tourists mess with Mother Nature, animals, tourist sites, etc.
Wyoming is a very beautiful state, don't lose it. Mass migration of people destroys the scenery and culture.
Come for a visit around January 25. You will sign up for 10 days and go home in 3. The wind makes you a bit touched after 7 days
I am so addicted to this Unboxing Series. Thanks for these videos Nick!
And you're dang right about that wind, it can get up to hurricane force 60+ mph, it never goes away but just decreases in the summer lmfao
And you forgot to mention our hot springs, Thermopolis!
P.s I worked at the landfill out of town, they had professional golf course netting to keep the trash where it belongs, the wind destroyed it in a few months, it was supposed to last years
WY would be a good place to build those igloo-shaped houses, that let the winds pass over them. Not a bad idea.
The wind is my biggest enemy. I noticed the winds are getting bad here too in CT.
Thanks for mentioning the hot springs! My family went there once because my grandmother was going at least once a week to the Worland center. It had an indoor pool fed by the mineral water that was supposed to be good for your health.
@@ShellymanStudios -5th grade science says winds are the result of uneven heating of the Earth's surface. Igloo-shaped homes can be made to be quite large, and very comfortable. I stayed in one once, and it was fine.

You should have mentioned the infamous winter of 1949 in Wyoming -- one of the worst in US history. Much of the state was burried in snow and inaccessible for months.
Almost happened against last week! 😄😂 had several feet of snow and Cheyenne closed for a couple days.
@@breyjames5025 perhaps you jest. if not brush up on your history and you’ll see that 49 was just a little bit more significant than a few feet

When Wyoming comes to mind, I think of the wild wild west!
Yes and no. Yes more people die from being killed by cattle than drive by shootings, even though more people are armed. I do think there are just as many churches as there are bars in most towns. But low crime, low taxes, high wages, decent schools make Wyoming a damn good place to live.

This was excellent, Nick. I've lived in Wyoming off and on for most of my life, and I learned more from this video than from actually being here.
Dude, how did you pay so little attention? I guess the fish can't tell you what water is.
I broke down in Wyoming once. It was kind of the best place for it to happen. Everyone was really kind.

The older i get...the more places like Wyoming appeal to me. I fish, hunt, hike and love the outdoors.
Beautiful state, no doubt. Questionable about jobs tho
