I bought the SCS MP model for my M&P 2.0 and I love it, I will never have to worry about remembering changing a battery and as long as I have it in sunlight or artificial light for a few hours every 2 years it will be fully charged and the auto brightness works both in full desert sun and dark home at night, I use a fairly high lumen weapon light, so, that may be why I don't have any issues with the weapon light washing out my dot. I also am a firm believer in having co witness irons because the more we rely on technology to do our job for us, the harder it will be when something goes wrong. I have been looking at this for the Canik MC9 that I just picked up and I like the closed emitter, in theory, the SCS on my M&P was my first step into pistol red dots.
@blakebeaton5821 Thank you for your insight !!! So the higher the lumen is on your weapon light will allow your dot not wash out ? And to confirm you had no issue shining your weapon light in a dark room or hallway and your dot still appeared nicely? Thanks again for your replies
@xzavierthompson2898 I have an Olight Baldr Pro R on my 2.0 which is 1,350 lumens (I also have an Olight PL-Pro Valkyrie at 1,500 lumens) and it is bright enough to bounce enough light back to have the optic increase brightness in my home which has a max sight line of about 10 yards. I can only imagine that if you had a dimmer light it might not reflect enough light back for the sensor to kick in and turn up the brightness. With my light, in my home, there is enough ambient light reflecting back to the sensor that the dot will automatically get bright enough that it does not get washed out by the WML. I am not sure where the cutoff would be for how many lumens would be enough to wash out the dot, but not trigger the sensor to brighten the dot.
@xzavierthompson2898 No problem. I also like a light that is bright enough to shine down at the floor and still be able to see without having to point my gun at the dog or my brother in law stopping by in the middle of the night.
Nice Video. The Holosun website has a bug that does not provide the SCS Carry user manual yet, but looking at the SCS MOS user manual, the manual override only lasts 30 minutes. At 14:32 you mentioned the manual brightness lock, but could you confirm if the you truly get unlimited time on the manual override brightness? From the SCS MOS manual "The override function increases the brightness several levels and will deactivate after 30 minutes automatically."
Good question. I just read through the scs carry manual and it does say it goes back to auto mode after 30 minutes. I just put the optic in manual mode to confirm. I'll report back.
Would you need to lock it out if the auto brightness seem to be alot smoother ? How has your experience been so far with the auto brightness? Is manual lock necessary?
@xzavierthompson2898 So far the auto brightness is the best I've seen from any optic. If you typically leave your optics in auto, this is a good choice. If you like making your own adjustments, go with the EPS carry.
Great video!!! How does the auto brightness perform on the scs carry if you had a weapon light on and going from a dark area to light (like down a hallway)?
I seen on there website it says the scs is thinner but a lot of people saying they are the same size I’m wondering is it just the window that’s the same size and footprint pattern or is it physical thinner or not as long as the EPS? Any help is greatly appreciated
@madman12999 If the scs is thinner it can't be by much, not enough to make or break a decision between the two. The top corners of the scs are shaved down compared to the eps, I guess you could consider that a size difference. But again, not enough difference to make a difference IMO
@@Party_Professor okay thanks I’m looking to pick one up at the end of the month and get my 43x milled for it so I’ve been trying to decide between the 2 what would be my best option
Really having trouble deciding between these two 😅 I have a separate pistol for home defense, or for when I know for sure I will be out and about at night, that has a WML with a laser. My EDC is a Shield Plus (soon to be a carry comp) and does not have a light. That is making me lean towards the SCS since the whole washout thing is a non-factor and I love hot its auto brightness works. I am a little worried about the non-replaceable battery but battery tech has gotten really good these days and I'm betting that battery will last 6, 7 plus years. In other words, I'll have a new EDC and/or optic before the SCS battery craps out.
@eddier9921 tactical development pro ledge. It mounts to the light. Highly recommend. Or check out black steel usa grip control. I'll have a video up on those soon with discount code
It's from brownells. It was on special for $100 bare! Swapped over my irons and parts kit from my original 365 that wasn't cut for an optic. No issues so far
dude you won me right off the bat with "supposebly". great review!

I love my SCS. I have the Carry and the 320. Why wouldn’t you want an optic you don’t have worry about changing the battery?
@Ruby_Sterling it's good if it works and last forever. I'm happy with mine so far

So you have to buy separate screws to not have to use the plate riser?
Dam debating between these 2 for my x macro
@chris2320 both are good options. If you like manual adjustments go eps. If you run auto brightness the scs
@@Party_Professor thanks man I’m leaning toward the eps.
Scs seems more crisp on camera
It is in person too
Scs in the dark with flashlight on is hard to pick up it’s my only issue
@fredito60 agreed. The eps carry is still on my edc for that reason
I appreciate your insights!
Thanks!
Great video!!! How does the auto brightness perform on the scs carry if you had a weapon light on and going from a dark area to light (like down a hallway)?
Thanks! The scs auto adjustment is best of any optic I've ever seen. However in scenarios like you just mentioned, I prefer manual adjustment.
@@Party_Professor thank you !
How do you like that Quinn torque screwdriver? I’m probably purchasing it this weekend.
It's been great for me. I personally like it over the wheeler
Just wanted to confirm. It should fit the hellcat pro no problem? I'm assuming the adapter plate will be needed
I personally don't have a hellcat, but the included plate makes this optic fit RMSc footprint, which I believe is what the hellcat has.

@SliderFury1 It's a tough choice I'll agree. Given what you have stated there, the SCS would not be a bad choice.
Do you know if both sights are the same width on the slide
Yes they are
I just got a SCS Carry and don't like that it's not as bright as my 507k.
@kentoncarter1103 really? I have both, never thought the scs wasn't bright enough.
@@Party_Professor check it out. I own both but the SCS does not get as bright as the 507k. It looks like Holosun did it on purpose.

Does your eye pick up the eps easier or the scs ?
@riffroc for me that comes down to brightness. Both green, same reticle, same frame size. I keep my eps locked on a high brightness.
how long does the internal battery of scs carry will lasy?
