I try to find the OEM part supplier so I don’t have to spend the OEM price if I can help it.
Cross your fingers on the DENSO aftermarket -"first time fit" radiator. Just had a DENSO rad installed in my Honda( DENSO is OEM supplier but the quality is not the same on these aftermarket DENSO rads) and it's leaking near the filler cap less than a month later
The transmission in these cars is dirt cheap from a wrecker's yard with super low miles. If the body's all good, I don't see why not swap the rad, flush the transmission and motor and see if it runs. If it still don't run, swap that transmission and it's all back in business.
Plus all the rubber hoses that will swell due to the addition of trans fluid to the cooling system. Long as the engine hasn't run hot you could go that route, but I guess it depends on if it's worth it to the customer.
I think I would put a new radiator in and do a transmission flush, if I was a customer. All your out is some transmission fluid and a little labor, definitely cheaper alternative than a new Trans.
