- Dead Moon interview on now defunct late night news show Nightline (TV3) ahead of their New Zealand tour in 1992.
The band came to New Zealand in August that year, declining a tour with Nirvana, and were in the country for nearly a month. They played 20 shows across the country visiting many towns outside of traditional touring circuits such as Invercargill, Greymouth, Nelson, Whanganui, Blenheim and Haast.
Best band in the world, I just love them. Saw them about 50 times live and it never got old. I miss them ❤
I was in Christchurch playing pool with the drummer. He put me and my mate on the guest list. Great night.

Fred: "...or maybe some really avant-garde jazz..." Sure :-) Great interview and the "we won't cancel a small gig to play a big one" has always been one of the things I admire them for.
Watchu talken about Willis? He seemed the type easily able to do whatever he set out to do. Like build a two story house...So far I see zero evidence of work experience, or education associated with carpentry or construction. The whole DIY self education si se puede thing was strong with this one. Then you got rideordie Toody happy to facilitate & learn too. Bet she never said "we can't afford to do that or you're crazy or no you don't...I love their constant shit eating grins especially on old FredCole like a kid excited by life and stoked at 60.
What’s funny is how he said there’s gonna come a time when the audience isn’t there for them, and that’s when they’ll know… I bet they never expected the audience was always going to be there for them to the end. Legendary band.
I noticed that Fred is wearing the same jacket here (1992) that he is wearing in an interview in 2013. I Love these guys , great people , True music

I respect the fuck out of them for turning down a Nirvana gig, that wouldve been massive for them, anyone who played a show with nirvana in their prime was basically guarenteed a ticket to stardom, at least temporarily. Dead Moon goes Hard

ACDC is in a different orbit altogether. Dead Moon wasn't hard rock, even with the skull pic. Th is classic garage rock you're hearing, played with full heart & soul.
