    This week and last week's Dynamite felt like he improved the format, it feels like it's more organized with videopackages, less bs segments and more main eventers in each show. Also, finally FTR are being recognized as the best tag team of this era and I hope they can hold AEW titles again sooner than later.

    The thing I really love about Tony is he is very good at working storyline into the reality, for instance talking about Adam Cole he melds the losses Adam has had into a sports promoter type discussion about how the character feels about those wins and losses. He talks about how he lays out the matches in real terms, but then slips into storyline talking about specific feuds. So clever and so unique the way AEW present the product. Vince wanted to compete with UFC years ago but went for the entertainment aspect, this shows how you can make it seem more like combat sports.

      Oh yeah man, his departure wasn't because of animosity towards AEW at all. As he has pointed out in interviews, he has nothing but love & respect for Tony, The Bucks, & Kenny. It was a financial decision he had to make.
      Plus, think about all the things that have happened with AEW since he left. Tony bought ROH, made a deal with NJPW, has signed numerous talents, & renewed some contracts. There was a lot in the works financially for AEW at the same time.
      Neither party has any hate for the other. So both sides had to make financial decisions.

      @thehumanoidguyphoon9635 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@matthewl3002 & just to add, Cody is the only one of the original 4 EVPs of AEW with significant time spent in WWE. Kenny was in developmental & chose to leave for greener pastures (thank god.) Matt & Nick weren't ever interested or involved directly, from my recollection, in WWE.
      Cody was always going to go back to WWE for a spell. Always... Kenny's interview with Wrestling Observer sheds light on that. Cody was the EVP pushing for a "Wednesday Night War" with WWE. Tony, Kenny, nor the Bucks gave a shit. Cody had his own goals he wanted to achieve in WWE that he felt WWE had kept him from with bad booking & horrible characters... *cough* Stardust *cough*
      Do I think Cody will come back? "Eh?" It depends on how WWE treat him. Do I think AEW will thrive without Cody? Absolutely. & if Cody comes back, do I think he will be welcomed back? Same answer, absolutely.

    I like AEW, my only 2 real complaints though are they need to tighten up the roster and focus on their main guys more (no more groups of 3-6 running around, or at least fewer of them - it gets confusing and hard for anyone to stand out). My other complaint is that they need to get a higher quality barrier between the ring and the fans similar to what WWE has. It looks cheap being just that metal fencing covered with banners and since it is in view all the time it is just a constant reminder that AEW is still a "B" to WWE's "A"

    • @CodeBleu724

      I respectfully disagree. WWE is overproduced. AEW has the production quality of WCW. It worked for them in the 90s and it still works today. That's all there needs to be. The ringside barricades are really a non issue. The fans connect with the product and that's all that should matter.

    • @ROMANTIKILLER2
      @ROMANTIKILLER2 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree on the first point, but disagree on the second: AEW shows are well produced overall, they do not look cheap like other minor federations, but have a rougher quality that is part of the image and personality of the company. I think it is good that WWE and AEW look different, than it is up to the fans' taste to decide which feel they prefer.

    People keep going on and on about Cody, they seem to ignore that he was made by the young bucks. Kevin Owens, a very good friend of theres, asked them to look after Cody when he quit because he was a good guy. They taught Cody how to make money on the indies, how to make march sales through pro wrestling tees, sell ring gear, do private meeting in Japan etc. they helped him learn how to make his impact on TH-cam and made him part of the elite, they showed him how to wrestle the indie style and helped him unlearn the WWE habits he had.
    Cody would not be who he was without the elite, he is sold as the driving force behind AEW but really it is Matt, nick, hangman and Kenny who did all the ground work early on, the bucks drove all in, the bucks had early meetings with Tony Kahn, Cody, right up to the day of signing, was openly thinking of taking the WWE deal instead. Yet somehow AEW becomes the house Cody built like he had a bigger role in it all then he did.

    42:36🙄this guy, I'm sorry but he's a fool. He has to basically give away before hand that Moxley Yuta will be a classic (in his eyes) because there is no storyline that will hype the match for him. He doesn't build toward anything. It's just matches, (like the hardy tables match) so he's forced to wink at us that the match will be something special beforehand. How did he know that it would be great? Aren't we supposed to be surprised? How did he know that Yuta wouldn't roll up Moxley in the first 3 minutes of the match? He's not even trying to keep kayfabe alive a little by saying "it SHOULD BE a great match. I hope it is. Maybe it may excel expectations. Who knows?". That would be a good enough hint for us. But he's basically saying "I booked this to have blood, so the 10 pm spot is good. Uh, I've booked this to be a classic. Lots of near falls. We are elevating Yuta to be a big star (just outta nowhere like an RKO)". This is ridiculous. This guy doesn't know much about wrestling. He's a rich fan of the business who now has live action figures.
