    I was surprised at how noticeable the difference in FOV between the Vision Pro and the Quest 3 is. Also, with Quest, I can type on the keyboard at a reasonable hunt and peck speed. On the Vision Pro, there is no chance of it working. The lack of visual and audio feedback is really holding it back.

    I tried it at the Apple Store. My biggest takeaway is that it felt so “normal”. Most VR headset feel like you’re entering this virtual, technical room with some sub par system and menu experience, and big glimmering fuzzy pixels. But the Vision Pro felt incredibly normal. It was very easy to embrace and accept.
    The only thing I was finding technically questionable was that the hand tracking and hand masking seemed to lag two or three frames behind. If the throughput is 12ms. The hand tracking should be 12ms. Perhaps they slow it down to interpolate between frames in order to reduce jitter? I hope they can improve this in future firmware. It was kind of obvious.

    Great video, and after using it for a while now for working also I totally agree that it's not really dystopian, it's really connective with others because instead of looking down at a phone (or a laptop) you are seeing what is around you better - and also that EyeSight is really key to how successful this is with others around you really being normal with you wearing it. I've not flown with it yet but am really looking forward to that the next time I fly! I'm not sure Apple has to deliver a newer device sooner than two years though, I think with software updates and new software they can keep the excitement going. It is going to be amazing to see this evolve.

    I am holding out hopes that the future Apple Glasses will be a reasonable price and have some of the features the Vision Pro's have. I don't mean with all the cameras and stuff, but wouldn't it be something if your going down the road and you can see directions and blue lines on the screen showing where you want to go. what your speed is and so much more?
    If its over a grand it won't be me, but some where in the $500 dollar range I may seriously be interested.

I don’t see any creators mentioning it but I’ve switched light seals and tried another demo unit at an Apple Store and I still see it. I wish someone had some feedback / tips for this. The workaround for me has been using lighter immersive environments but I want to use cinema and the theatre Disney plus environments.

    Honestly, I'd rather talk to my wife with her face buried in her phone than attempting to do so while she was wearing any of these godawful contraptions. Eye and facial cues are important during communication and I just don't see that coming through with the Apple (or any other) headset. I still don't see a use-case for VR headsets beyond games and media consumption and a $4K price tag makes it a luxury item at best. I think we're still two or more generations away from a truly useful, non-intrusive VR device.

    It's the most cyberpunkish accessory ever and even if you're ok seeing other ppl around you and their facial expressions, imagine all of you wear it and you don't see no face expression no more. What's next, an Apple product projecting a face expression of yourself to others? It's crazy if you think about being in an environment with those on, except for the office or maybe some dedicated places. The distraction from the surroundings after using the goggles for some time, like in the example you gave when you sat in the airplane, is another risk.

    I’ve used it for 20 days. (Returned.) I noticed that I used my Mac way more than having a headset on. I’ve used the Samsung VR and I have the Meta 2 rn. The Apple Vision Pro put such a strain in my eyes that I had to put the device down to let my eyes rest and that was only 30 mins of usage, I’m use to looking at a display but when its up to your face and you have to use your eyes as the pointer, hurts. It’s cool easy but when you have to pay attention to what you actually have to select it starts to get annoying. Going back to a meta 2 was weird but also but eyes aren’t hurting or giving me headaches like crazy. I like floating windows don’t get me wrong but it’s like I’m waking up to 100 things I gotta do around once I put it on. I like it but once it’s lighter and better. I’ll consider it. More useful things on meta then Apple rn due to it being there first headset device, once they get to a 3rd gen hesdset it’ll blow up.

(3) pass through is better than other headsets on the market but not clear enough to read small text on your phone, still pretty grainy. (4) just not worth the money for what you are getting (picture clarity is the only thing this headset does amazing on)

    "I really enjoy watching the videos, but I have some concerns about the Vision Pro product. While I understand that it's important to invest in quality equipment, I don't think the Vision Pro is worth the high price tag. It's over-hyped and doesn't deliver on its promises. There are better, more affordable options available that can provide the same value without breaking the bank. I would suggest doing some research and comparing products before making a purchase."

    I wonder when Samsung is going to step into the market. I almost think that they can though, because I don’t think they have the tech or integration to do it well enough. For example, Samsung doesn’t have its own mainstream OS on both computers and phones, and mainstream hardware implemented in all their devices. This pretty brilliant on Apple’s part now that I am thinking about it.

    Unless apple makes the iPhone Pros double as a MacBook with macOS apps that can use the Vision Pro as a display I see no point in traveling with the extra bulk of the headset. It just isnt worth it unless you are a total tech geek whose goal is to spend the entire time immersed online. But even then it will just add to the bulk since you have to carry the MacBook or iPad anyway. This years iPhone A18 Pro chip will officially beat the M1 chip by quite a margin then why not make the iPhone a tiny MacBook replacement for people terminally on the move?

When I used the first Oculus, I had wished I could be in a virtual world--a mountain lodge, a space station in orbit--and be able to be able to work on my laptop like I was at a desk in one of those worlds. Looks like that's a feature of the Vision Pro! I don't have one yet--it is pricy--but looking forward to trying/getting one.

    I think 3-4K is a lot for anyone to have to spend on new tech, but I also see potential in this tech that no other device on the market possesses. Ppl want to justify the price for the potential they see in this device. I honestly think with a few over-the-air updates & the addition of a few crucial apps, this device is right back in consideration. Once a lighter, more inexpensive form factor is introduced, I see the market responding immediately.

    It would be one thing if Apple had released AVP the size of the Bigscreen Beyond but this form factor is way too bulky even for a 1st gen in my opinion. It might make sense as a internal lab prototype on their way to their final production form factor. To compare it to the 1st gen iPhone doesn't seem right to me either. I would totally have bought a 1st gen iPhone if I wasn't such a cheapskate but I would not buy the AVP even though I can afford it. I dunno where this is going to end up going but hopefully in the direction of the BigScreen Beyond or even the AR Glasses like Xreal and such.

    Great video! I’ve had mine a little over three weeks and love it! It’s definitely replaced my TV, iPad Pro, soon my MacBook Pro, and I’m even using my Mac studio much less. Most of the issues I have with it are software based that I know will be updated sooner than later. Just like when any new Apple product comes out, tons of people say it’s pointless and don’t understand it and within a year own it. I remember people not getting the iPad, and being furious when Apple took a CD drive away in the MacBook Air ha ha. This version 1.0 is definitely not for most people but I’d say by version 2 to 3 it will have cannibalized tons of products.

    Before watching the video, I was thinking you wouldn't want to return it, because it is new content for the channel. Apple will constantly push out new features for the Vision Pro. So for you reviewers to not have the device at hand would be disadvantageous to your channel. All the current and future Vision Pro videos will pay off the cost of the product anyways...unless you're doubting this, which is why you wish you could return it? To be frank, even if so, it's rare for Apple to just introduce a new product like this, so even at a monetary loss, it would still do wonders for the channel in terms of current tech relevance.
    I think all these videos of justifying your purchase of the device or why you're not returning can just summarized as " because I am a tech reviewer." I mean there was another tech youtuber that has to somehow justify why they need to a buy the top-of-the-line Vision Pro with maxed out storage. No need to justify it to us. You are a tech reviewer. This part is obvious.
    As a suggestion, what would really help is if we can get the perspective of the average person when it comes to buying the device...granted it's $3500, so probably no.
    But I will say, if you want to get some good content for the Vision Pro, maybe try to create a cool full screen setup with it. I'm talking about taking a seemingly empty room, and then when you wear it, you'd have apps floating everywhere, like a full virtual studio setup.
    Just a fruit for thought. :)

    You mention your gaming experience with the original Quest and how even back then it was better for that purpose than the Vision Pro today. But a few seconds later you say the Vision Pro is on another level overall and Zuckerberg is basically lying.
    Question : did you actually try the Quest 3 ? I just got one and while I'm sure the Vision Pro has the better display and passthrough, I can't imagine it's 7 times better to match the price. And, crucially : I've seen MANY youtubers having their mind blown with AVP features like hand tracking, room mapping, passthrough that the Quest has done really well for a while. Guys, it's modern VR that's mind-blowing ! The Vision Pro is the best at it, but not by a mile.
    I'm an Apple fanboy through and through but watching these VR virgin reactions giving Apple credit for the whole experience was hilarious, and actually gave me pause : I'll certainly be more mindful of my own reality distortion field next time I watch an Apple keynote !
    What I want to see is more Quest 3 vs AVP comparisons. Then I'll be convinced to get an AVP v2

      It doesn’t have to be 7 times better to justify a 7 times higher price tag. A person running 20% faster in sprint is definitely going to earn way more than 20% extra. A manager bringing in 20% more profit is going to cost way more than 20% extra. A computer making you 20% more productive is going to cost way more than 20% extra.

    • @renaudg
      @renaudg 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@PfropfNo1Of course it isn't strictly proportional like that, and you can't put a number on the quality of experience.
      But at 7 times the price, let's just say it's gotta be a completely different experience in a completely different league, beating the competition at every single thing.
      It CLEARLY isn't the case : the Vision Pro is way heavier, has this ridiculous battery pack and cable that get in the way, no controllers and (currently) little software.
      Not a $3500 experience !
      I'm excited for v2, but there is no justification for the hype given the state of the competition. It's no revolutionary iPhone.

    • @renaudg
      @renaudg 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MaxTechOfficialI know, but that wasn't my question. You said your opinion about gaming is based on the original Quest.
