  • "Mr Frank Buglass of the Jubilee Committee has produced a full cinematographic feature of the principal Jubilee events in colour and sound".
    7.30pm, Saturday 30th July 1977: A parade and muster of the Northern Army of the Sealed Knot Society, starting from their camp in Duncombe Park, Helmsley.
    Route: Castlegate - Market Place - Bridge Street - Ryegate - Station Road - Ashdale Road. Returning via Bondgate to muster in the Market Place, where challenges were issued between the forces of the Crown and Parliament, and the surrender of the Castle demanded.

    Well I'll be blowed! The Pikeman/soldier in red uniform at 0:48 with the leather buff coat jerkin, black sleeve slashes and black pot helmet is me. It was a wonderful muster that weekend in Helmsley. I remember some of the faces too. I thought I would never see anything of the old days like this again. Thank you for posting it.

    Superb footage of 1970s Sealed Knot! My Dad, Peter Harling, is the taller of the two heralds in role as Norroy & Ulster King-of-Arms. I'm in there somewhere as well as a six-year old, along with my Mum - will have to have a closer look to see if I can spot us!
