Update: yes the carb crapped out after 1 year. I contacted Senix and they sent me a new carb, free. I put it on and the thing started right up - runs great again!! here is the link to Senix: senixtools.com/pages/contact-us
A lady I know here in town just gave me a tiller. Her husband passed away some years ago and she said it was too heavy for her to handle. Has not been started in several years and she said she did not know if it still ran. She just wanted it out of her garage. It was made in 1972, has a 5 HP Briggs and Stratton engine and the thing has a beautiful gear box that drives the tines. There is no plastic on it anywhere. Removed the clogged-up air filter and left it off. Put about a half inch of gasoline on the floor of the tank. Chocked it and pulled. Sputtered and stopped. Pulled again and ran rough, I immediately unchoked it and it ran smooth as silk. No smoke just smooth. Put it in gear and did a little tilling where I dump all the fall leaves and grass clippings in the summer.
Well, now I know why mine blows blue smoke thru my entire yard! That blue cloud surrounded me to where, in order to breath, I needed to walk away from the machine. I wasn't laying the handles back on my driveway to check the oil level. The machine was standing upright on its wheels....LOL Thanks for the tips and after over-wintering the unit, she started up after three pulls. Still works great after three years. -- *SUBSCRIBED!* --
I got a troy-bilt 30cc 4-stroke tiller from home depot for 255 with tax. that thing really impressed me with how well it did. I'm glad I didn't get the cheapest or super expensive. right in the middle works good for me.
Thanks for the Review, even though older I wanted to see it work. They are on sale now for $199.00 and with Military discount almost as cheap as renting one for the day. Appreciate it. Nice Buck.
Thanks for taking time to watch my video. I've used it 3x now and it cranks right up, get the job done. If it lasts 2-3 years I'll be happy with my purchase.
I kind of like this tiller a little better than the one Harbor Freight has because its 4-cycle, but I buy canned fuel either way. I think these little tillers work so good because the tines are sharp and smaller diameter than with larger tillers, and it gives them more torque for the amount of engine power provided. I just wonder how well it'll cope with all the Bermuda grass that covers the area I want to till up?
Bermuda grass does get into the tines. It’s pretty easy to get out but not ideal. Good idea on the canned gas. It’s expensive but will probably make the tiller last much longer!
I am planning to try mine on my grow box very soon. I am getting ready to plant sweet potato slips and need to mix up my soil in the grow box. the box is 15 inches wide, so it should just fit! Thanks for watching!! 😎
Thanks buddy! Got the redirect from home depot and was impressed! I need a little something something just like that to prep my garden beds too. Is the unit still working for you? I liked your "squirrel" moment too. ; ^)
Senix makes this same unit. picked it up yesterday at Bomgaars for $219 fully assembled. bought 10w30 conventional oil but id like to know how soon i should change the oil after initial break in. tried calling Senix but that did no good. id also like to know whats in the gearbox. i assume its grease but not sure about type and when to change it out or add to it. so many questions ill probably never get answered cuz its all made in china.
That is a good price! I think I paid $229 and I get tax exempt and/or military discount. I am planning to change the oil after this spring season, I want to change it before I start using it again in the fall, and I will only have maybe 5 hours on it by then. I was also wondering about the gear box, I didn't look very close, but assume its not able to be serviced at all. Probably sealed. Good luck with your cultivator and thanks for watching my videos!
After a few uses…Mine dies after it starts now. Runs for a few seconds and that’s it. If I squeeze the tine lever it dies immediately. It has gas. Clean air filter. Maybe dirt in carburetor or needs new spark plug?? I don’t know
1 Year Update: It’s DEAD! I went to use the cultivator and the carburetor is acting up. I removed and cleaned everything inside the carb, no help. I don’t see anywhere to buy the carb for this machine, so I guess it’s now a boat anchor! You get what you pay for. ❤😂
Wow that's disappointing. I think these are made by YAT Tool though. They've made 4 stroke machines for craftsman, hypertough and a few other brands. Anyway, they have a subsidiary called Senix for the US market. Maybe you can contact them for parts.
For more power to ground, better grass removal, less tangles, deeper digging, take off HALF THE TINES in a balanced pattern. These things wrongly powderise soils. Better to simply break into lumps.
Too bad, but it worked the virgin soil impressively! I dare to say it digs easier than Mantis or Echo!. And I had Mantis for years. The blades look so that they can't do as much work as the Mantis blades but the opposite seems to be true. It also does not gather the grassroots so easily as the M. or E.
@@FourDRanch It’s literally in everything being manufactured now by this generation. My wife is now really starting to believe me it’s in everything that we buy and that’s why the price of used vehicles from the 80s and 90s is going through the roof. Everything that this generation of kids building is absolute junk including technology.

Good find! You’ve got a machine that will last forever!
Bought one today, works great, more power than expected.

Where ?! $349 near me 😢
Thanks for this video. I already bought this thing so time will tell. Handsome buck too, wonder if he’s still around
Thanks for the review brother. Hope you get that buck next season!
Thanks for watching! Me too on the buck!!
Thanks for posting. I'm very skeptical because of the price and no name engine but I have to say I was pretty impressed by it's performance for you!

LDS prepper uses something like your tiller for his grow boxes, it works for that, I hope you get many years out of yours.

I literally laughed out loud when you said “ I’m not expecting much because this thing got horrible reviews “. 😂
Well I have to say mine is still working. I've used 3-4 times and it has not failed me yet! Thanks for watching!!!

I'm going to get one.

Decent result
Thanks for watching!
Hi is this Tiller still working well for you after a year now is it worth it for $400? Thank you for your answer in advance.
It works, but not well. Carburetor issues. It’s not worth $400. Get a better made machine.
After a few uses…Mine dies after it starts now. Runs for a few seconds and that’s it. If I squeeze the tine lever it dies immediately.
It has gas. Clean air filter. Maybe dirt in carburetor or needs new spark plug?? I don’t know
Too bad, Probably the carburetor, they are just not that good. They did send me 2 carbs for free. I guess they know it’s junk!
Es de 46 CC?
yes
Is it still workin? or has it broken down and been tossed in the trash yet?
how much man? i got lotsa colored sunflower seed
Cheers

Find a generic one the right size to throw on there.

@@A-r-o-h thanks! I just went to Senix website and asked for parts info on this cultivator. I will post the results here.

@@FourDRanch That's great to hear!

Thank God you had the high octane stuff... LOL
Not only do the belts fail quickly, but ordering this part from Home Depot is very difficult due to their totally incompetent way of doing things.
I agree! Thanks for sharing.
Choke wont disengagr
Contact the company mentioned in the comments above. They sent me 2 new carburetor’s free of charge.
It works well until it doesn't then good luck finding a carburator or rebuild parts its Chinese junk i recommend a mantis
I drained the gas for storage and only ran it mabey 10 times now it will not start the carb is bad
well that sucks. I kinda figured this thing would not last. Mine is still going, but probably wont get another year out of it.
Funny how people dont know you till going forward. lol
I’m not following your comment, but thanks for watching!!😂
All I can say is , it sucks when you have more clay than dirt .. would not recommend on clay
I agree with that! It works ok on topsoil and I plan to use it to mix my grow beds after harvesting. Thanks for watching my videos!
I had this for like 3 weeks and returned. POS
Thanks for watching!
Throttle cable connection at the carburetor is clearly a millennial engineer design. Utter freaking junk.
My kill switch quit working after 3rd use.
