This show will literally give Eric a heartfelt scene with freaking *Nicky* before letting him have a scene with his own actual son, Thorne, who’s currently going through some things 🙄.
Does Eric even remember he has a son named Thorne? I mean, after he went to him crying about Ridge NOT being his son anymore I am yet to see any interaction between Eric and Thorne. What a missed opportunity.
I thought Stephanie was the one true love of Massimo's, the one who ended up raising their child with another man because of a misunderstanding. Now apparently Jackie and Massimo have a very similar backstory. The retcons just keep retconning.
LOL. Where is the retcon? Stephanie in 2001 already argued with Massimo's narrative about their great college romance, when according to Stephanie Massimo in college had been a *playboy* (loved by many) while Eric had been the reliable and focused one. Nov. 20, 2001 (ep 3679) Massimo: I loved you. And you loved me. Did you give that a thought? Stephanie: *_Mass, there wasn't a girl at the university who didn't love you. And I loved Eric. And he was kind, ambitious, focused, caring_* Massimo: Mm-hmm. All the things that I wasn't. Stephanie: *_Well, you were still a playboy, weren't you?_* Massimo: You were as much a rebel as I was, Stephanie. And I told you how much I wanted you. Sept. 5, 2001 (ep 3630) Stephanie: Mass, I love him, and he loves me. The things that we've had in the past, we've worked out. And it is in the past. *_And don't give me that look. Come on now. I've seen all those pictures of you in the European press, all those little girls running around in bikinis on that big yacht of yours. Whatever happened to that princess from that little tiny country in the middle of nowhere?_* Massimo: I haven't been married for a long time, Stephanie. I've been single for a long while now.
You know what these latest Payne/Marone scenes remind me of? Have you ever gone to a restaurant or a dinner party where you were served a dessert, like a pastry, that looked like a work of art? Beautifully crafted, decorated, had everything and the kitchen sink thrown at it? And then you bite into it, and it’s dry, tasteless, or too sweet? So no matter how much they put on the dessert, you can’t get past the fact that the essential thing itself is just of no interest. Well, that’s what the Paynes are to me.
Haha 👍!! Yes...I commented on that on previous episode and this one too. Yes, it makes no sence, they appearantly had a deep affair and still Massimo didnt recognize her
So Mass already knew that Jackie wanted Nick to think of him as a role model and gave him the family ring and he accused her of running a scam, so why now does he start to wonder if Nick was his? He didn’t get anymore clues that what he already had but I guess the writers were just ready to reveal it.
Good grief, the size of the wine goblets Massimo and Jackie are drinking from . . .and yet still not enough wine to make this storyline interesting. On the other hand, hearing Massimo’s and Jackie’s backstory and the tragic interference of her husband was super engrossing - nah, just kidding, still don’t give a damn about any of these people. And I resent that they’re taking Spectra screen time. Side note: Eric broke up with Stephanie and called her all kinds of horrible names because she had someone else’s baby *without knowing it*, from a liaison that was over before she married him. Yet Eric has *no* problems with Jackie, a woman who was openly cheating on her husband with Massimo? Hypocrite much? And are we supposed to see Jackie as the victim of a tragically derailed love affair when she was outright cheating on her husband? Guess we see why she feels such an instant affinity for Brooke.
And why Eric feels such an affinity for Jackie. After all, he divorced Stephanie because he found out about her "tragically derailing" _his_ love affair with Beth Logan. He sees himself in Jackie.
Jacki is another Brooke. There was no need to have another version of her. What horrifies me is that they bring another young s ex y woman to be Stephanie's antagonist pretending she is the same age more or less, while the actress is younger.
No matter how hard they try, they will not succeed in making Jackie’s poor cuckolded husband the villain here. My only objection to his hitting Massimo up for $100k is that Jackie was not worth nearly that much.
This is exactly the same type of narrative that was trying to make Eric and Beth the romance and Stephanie the obstacle, until Bill Bell realized that Susan Flannery's Stephanie was far more compelling.
When was Massimo having the time to woo Jackie and help make Nick when he was supposed to be at college in love with Stephanie? The ages are just not mathing here. Nick is at least 40 years old and say Jackie was 20 when she had Nick then she’d be 60 now and Lesley Down was 49 or 50 here. She doesn’t even look 60 😂
So much about this storyline doesn't make sense. She's working for Fenmore's but hasn't run into Eric? Doesn't remember Lauren was dating him? And Nick is pretending the guy courting his mom doesn't have two kids with Brooke? WTH?

The interaction and chemistry between Ridge and Brooke is off the charts. Only Brooke challenges ridge and keeps him coming back for more. Taylor was good enough to bring up his children and bring him his slippers. Oh yes and make him sun tea boring boring nagging wife.

@@annieo6527 I agree with all that you mention. Brooke should have taken stephanie's advice. Its probably the best she has ever given her.
