@1:30 I measure the transfer of the secondary exchanger in a different way: I measure by hand the temperature of the hot water pipe and the temperature of the thermal agent on the return pipe to the primary heat exchanger, and if they heat up at once and about the same, the exchanger is ok :) I have never needed to measure the temperature of the heating agent with special probes, although I have them, but I avoid using them because it is not practical...
Hey Allen/others looking for a bit of advise. I seem to have an intermittent issue with my valliant ecotec boiler and it's driving me mad. when it fires up the flame control goes 3/4 of the way up to get the flow temp up to 65. Goes from 30 to 65 in 5-10mins then throttles back to low flame to maintain the temp. But then frustratingly some days I can turn the boiler on and the flame simply stays on low never throttles up I had the heating on for an hour today and flow temp was only at 44 degrees. The boiler range rating is set to auto. I know you can adjust this to different kw but what I'm struggling with is why some days it preforms perfect and others gets stuck in this low flame mode and wont hit flow temp? I have just fitted a wiser thermostate could that be playing a part? Not sure if I had this issue before or not as never really payed much attention to what the boiler was doing now im obsessed lol. Any help would be appreciated as youbjust know I will call.and engineer out and it will work perfect when they are here!
@@kevincranfield5235 how would I check that? (Sorry for my ignorance) As far as I'm aware the thermostat operates as a simple on and off? I have just checked and I'm pretty sure I don't have either of your suggestions applicable
@@Andy5c Wiser are Smart thermostats with optimisation, open therm to achieve maximum efficiency, if not set up corectly with boiler kw output the boiler will run low. Are room temperature struggling ? Turn off optimisation on Wiser. Who installed Wiser ?
@@kevinschoales844 really appreciated the reply been stressing me out and seem you know your stuff on these. I installed the wiser as it was just a swap for an existing dryton so basically plugged in to existing back plate. Do you know where optimisation is on wiser for me to turn off? Eco and comfort are off but cant see any other settings. Like I said it's intermittent issue. today running perfect rooms hit temp no problem, yesterday however stuck at low flame for hours flow temp.only 44 degrees and it wouldnt warm house past 15 degrees. I reset boiler 4 times then ran fine after that. Defo feels like somethings arguing with itself as its very inconsistent in its approach to flame power
Depends where you are, If are anywhere near Halifax come and join us at Viva Training vivatraining.co.uk/courses/fast-track/fast-track-new-entrants-gas-course/
I would also add regarding servicing, on a Nat Gas model check the electrodes every 3 years and also clean the cell, on LPG I would check the electrodes every 2 years and clean the cell also, due to the harsh burning.
Hi Allen /anybody I am going to replace my old baxi bermuda boiler with a new baxi 800. My existing pipe work to my rads are 10 mm copper rather than 15mm will that be ok??
Have used Worcester bosch since the late 80's😂 Sadly there training is pretty poor. I've been on courses where installers stroll in an hour or so late only for the lecturer to say we'll just wait a little longer 🙄 Yes I've only a few years left but it is definitely important to keep up with the new knowledge that's around. Keep it up some good points made 👌
PFTO - would you not get your car or van serviced then as per the schedule? lack of boiler servicing can cause issues, like blocked syphon or blocked main heat ex etc... so its not absolute tosh..
Range rating vs Boiler modulation? Please explain the difference / benefits.
Do all Worcester boilers now have an easy accessible pressure relief valve ?

Are you sure not connected to open therm
Or a vaillant equivilent like Ebus or weather comp etc

Turn off optimisation on Wiser.

Thanks Allen I really enjoyed that 👍🏻😀
Thank you
Used to be best boiler by far, 28cdi was bulletproof, sorry not any more. Baxi for me now.
Have you not looked at Intergas
I am wanting to know what EA stands for? Just curious as nobody seems to know...
I don't know what it stands for but was told it means its condensing by worcester technical help
Can u recommend a company for gas training

Hello Mike. Tomas

The lack of service is absolute tosh. Boilers should last ten years at a minimum

Quality lads 👌 top job as always, interesting to see the Worcester chap still has ten fingers 😁😁
Thanks for watching. If you have any questions just ask and i will try and get rob or mike to answer.
